Deadcoining can increase the amount of ricoshots due to multiple coins being thrown. In this case, 38 coins were used in total, and the whiplash was used to keep them from falling.
The Sisyphus kill is really impressive but if you really want to get a good time then the rollout and panopticon needs work. A good rocket ride all the way to the door at the start takes about 3 seconds and with good movement you can reach the first locks in about 16. My personal best time to rollout and kill the panopticon is 43 seconds using mainly shotgun parries and overpumps but you could probably do better with practice lol
basically: there are a few ways to stack damage onto a coin(whiplash being one,) they’re usually impractical due to long setup times, but if you do them during boss monologues you can stack enough damage for an insta-kill
in 4-4 clair de soleil in the first door room with the 3 doors, the door on the right has a crack, using the whiplash u can get the skull inside of it, and using the electric railcannon you shoot the water around it, go into the door that has opened, go down and it is there if i remember correctly

Nope, the process is actually pretty complex, look for a "dead coin" tutorial here on UA-cam, there are a lot
whiplashing is just done to keep the coin in the air while the other coins recharge for more deadcoining

Why did you hurt the panopticon?
Sisyphus will escape from the panopticon when it tries to heal.
Similarly to the flesh prison, it will try to heal faster the more you damage it.
