- When the rancher's away, the RanchHer will... ranch. Mr. FFB took a few days away from the ranch to learn more about ranching. And while he was gone, it was me, T, here ranching and parenting solo.
This is the first in a three part series on what happens when the rancher's away. Stay tuned next week to find out how day three went down!

Most people have no clue what an intensive and difficult activity ranching and dairying is. I started dairying at 50 after being a bookkeeper for years. The sight of your dogs brought me to tears as I remembered of my own 2 blue healers that helped me round up the cows for milking. I loved them and they loved me. As difficult as it was, I never felt more alive. The experience was worth every grunt and groan.
I thought My dogs are good listeners, BUT DANG! That Dog Is the Best Tool in your Box!
Admire your dogs and your abilities
Thank you for your kind words!
I like optimism: 'Make good choices ...' to heifers next to yard full of hay. Thanks for the video, it made my day.
You have mesmerizing eyes and easy-going humor!!! Your dogs do a great job.
Thank you!
That is one well trained dog nice to see him work saves a lot on you
Thanks, Rollie! He sure does save me lots of time and energy.
God Bless ya in all you do, we are pondering our fate with the reenactment of WOTUS under the new rash of Presidential orders after Congress repealed it. Farmers have a very unsecure future
Honestly, I don't worry much about what's going on in Washington. We're all flawed humans every last one of us, including those making our laws. But I know that no matter what we (flawed) humans can come up with, God's got us. We're not powerful enough to ruin His plan. And while it might now be an easy road for those of us in agriculture, He's working all things for good, even pain in the backside laws.
Wow, alot of rural ranch life and jobs end up solo, great for ranchHer!
She's a go-getter for sure...my kind of girl .
Ranch dogs in the pickup, that’s almost a Biblical sin in my house! Haha but to each their own, good stuff new subscriber 👍🏼
Thanks for the sub, Jason! We have a dog box on the back of the other pickup they ride in, but we don’t let them ride on the back of the cake truck for fear of them falling off since there’s not a lot of room. Also, we don’t want anybody getting ears or tails stuck in the caker when it’s running. 🤷♀️😅
First time watcher...will be back. Just a wanna be farmer who loves cattle and Jesus. God Bless!
Thanks so much for tuning in, Tim!
This site will grow to very high viewership. Just trust your instincts when it comes to content. You have a beautiful family and I love your attitude. You are fun to watch! Blessings to you all.....John S.
Thanks so much for the vote of confidence! :-)
Very good video. I liked your funny comments today and the way you work the dogs. Interesting information as well. Thanks. I would like to see more videos from you PLEASE.
You are so kind, thanks for watching! I am working on getting more videos up in a more timely manner.
Beautiful dogs Mrs FFB
I am so glad I found your channel! You and your family are one of the reasons America is so great. Ranch life and living is the best - 24/7, hard, frustrating, but oh so satisfying and rewarding.
Mr FFB is one lucky fellow.
:-) lol hmm good video. thank you . But the fence should be at least five to six wires. :-)
Hey thanks for tuning in, Rick! That’s cool if you wanna have that many wires on your place. But in my opinion, the cattle will respect the what you train them too. Obviously, these heifers need a bit more training. 😅
@@FaithFamilyBeef lol okay then put up a
@@FaithFamilyBeef try one wire a hot wire. that will teach them like one that will drop them to the knees. lol Ok Ill shhhh sorry
Great job Mrs FFB
How do people ranch without dogs? Ours save us so much legwork. Not to mention they’re such great coworkers.
I honestly don’t know. 😅 Now that I’ve had some decent stock dogs, I don’t ever want to be without!
That is a very good question. I have had kelpies and cattle doggs all my life. It is just impossible to work livestock without them. Eventually tgey get very quiet and the stock so calm they are a delight to work and handle as the cattle respect them so much.
let me know ill work. plus your beutiful.
The brilliance of knowledge gal you are and thanks for sharing as always!!
How can you say all by your lonesome, when you have dogs that listen!
That’s a valid point! I’m ranching as the solo human. 😂
@@FaithFamilyBeef I'm sure the dogs listen about as well, and maybe better, than most humans!
Love following. If could recommend taking a Holistic Management course, I've heard so many good things about that :)
Thanks for tuning in and following! We already implement a holistic range management plan here. My husband has attended classes and both of us have read lots of literature on the topic. 🙂
@@FaithFamilyBeef Well there you go! :-D
Mrs. FFB, I'd love to see an entire video dedicated to your dogs. I love watching them work.
I’ll try to make that happen.
Great video. Your dogs save you a lot of time and labor. More ranchers should take note and use dogs to help them move their cattle. You can do all the jobs on the ranch. What a great farm wife
Thanks! Our dogs really do save us a lot of time and energy that's for sure.
You do a great job
Thanks, Tony!
RanchHer, make good choices. Happy Heifers, uhmm, more hay. The hay is always better on the other side of the fence.
All by yourself....not really you have all those extra paws to help.....great helpers....no the best...
Well OK, then. Maybe I don't need cowboys. Just a couple good dogs. But then who's gong to mend the fences? Thank you for the tips. ~your neighbor.
Nothing like ranching. Its often brutal hard work, but at the end of each day, whenever that is, the satisfaction is knowing that what you're doing is making a difference, even if you cannot see it for yourself. Fences, trucks, livestock, dogs and cats, kids and horses, hay and tractors......I love what I do too. 🐂🐎🇨🇱🇺🇲🚜
The dogs are very impressive!, even though the one can’t hold his liquor. Sure hope those heifers make good choices.
Hey lady. Please do not take this in a negative light. But as complement. You have nice eyes and a VERY nice nose. Take care of them. They are with you '' all of your days '' this side of heaven.
This is cool. I think I would want to farm or ranch if I didn't have my current career in natural resources gov type job.
my mom was babysitting her siblings and helping her mom manage their house when she was in her teens. she has a resilience and tenacity I've inherited and admire those qualities in other people. you guys are an awesome crew. love your vids
Thanks, Kevin!
You have beautiful eyes hope your husband tells your how beautiful every day
I am by myself I do not have cattle anymore the two girls I had kept getting out so they are safely lying down in my freezers
Thank god we got rid of brucellosis in England many years ago though smarter.
What a wonderful woman. And a very lucky man.
Great video Mrs FFB
Thanks for watching and for your kind words!
That is one GREAT dog! Amazing to see him work.
Always good to ya Mrs Beef good video & stay safe !
Daniel from central Mississippi
Great video. Thank you
Thank you for tuning in!
Binx is a great helper!!!
He really is!
Yunicorns are not extinct. The endangered ones stayed married.
Sorry , I should of kept my mouth shut. good video than you.
I think you need a little better fence around the stack yard. 🐂🐂
OH and by the way. I would keep the hay a lot farther from the fence. that is tempting for them. I would move it back . But then again. Not my problem. But I hope you do think about it and it does help. :-)
We do have some stack yards with a single string hot fence. But again, we really try to train the cattle to respect whatever they’re behind.
lol Thank you for the reply. . Hmm. like you do it your way. Ill do it mine. But it isnt my problem.I was just trying to help. Some thing else you might want to think about then. Is a electric fence. that does get the attention. But then again , it is your problem not mine. Sorry I mentioned it.
Yep, we can all do things differently and all be successful. Lots of right ways to do things. Thanks again for tuning in! 😊
Watching this... and thinking about how we at least we have some modern machinery to help out a little... I can't believe what settlers out on the Great Plains (or wherever this is) went through, to settle this country.
A person today would have great difficulty in living the life of our pioneers. I am 93 and I remember everything was physical labor.
Great work thanks for the video👌
Love that dog.
Me too!
😄 the story of a ranchers life
Nothing better than a good cow dog.
What state are you ranching ?
Beautiful Aussie. We have two. Tigger and Tilli. 5yo and 9 months, respectfully. Great video.
Thanks so much! I sure do love my Binx! He's a border collie kelpie cross. Those Aussies are sure beautiful dogs though!
@@FaithFamilyBeef border collies are the smartest breed alive. Aussies second. they heard the golf cart... Fun to watch.
Always look forward to your videos! You do a hell of a job even by yourself😁👍‼️
Thanks a bunch, Mark!
Nice job Mrs FFB you got this and I always like when you show your dogs work 👍
Thank you, Darren!
Thanks for the video i always enjoy them.
Thanks for watching, Ed!
OH BTW. I was raised on the farm. If you need help. I could use a job. :-)
But it seems we would not get along good together eh?
:-)
That’s awesome you grew up on a farm! Best way to grow up, I do believe. Unfortunately, we’re not hiring at this time, but I get along with most everyone, especially if they’ve got a good attitude and a willingness to learn.
@@FaithFamilyBeef lol
ok
so you can teach me? can you learn from me? I am willing to learn
what is the pay and benifits? should i keep my ideas to my self? is that what you are saying?
Yep, I think there’s a lot that can be learned from everyone if we’re willing. I did not say you should keep your ideas to yourself, but I did say that unfortunately we’re not hiring. Thanks again for watching and the conversation - have a great evening!
Good luck
Love this 👍
That dog's smarter than some people I've worked with.
Just wanted to drop a note here and say I appreciate your videos.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. FFB at Ranching for Profit. It was very nice meeting him and getting to know him some. I've been a farmer/ rancher my entire life but the different challenges we face in different areas as well as different management practices fascinate me.
I hope your all doing well, best wishes from Wisconsin.
i've never seen ice-blue eyes in a human. a husky? yes. but not a human. as farm boy said below - mesmerizing.
Well pretty lady, I'm sure u got this just be careful, if I was close I'd help you, an wow what beautiful eyes u have ,that was funny to, about his liquor
Make good choices! LOL!
Gotta remind them! 😂
1 st time watcher. Really like this rancher but my wife is tough like this gal and sometime life gets scary. I sleep with one eye open. Luca
I heard your technical fencing terms! You do great
Talk about driving in morning Rush hr traffic lol
awesome girl & large area ranch & red & black angus heifers # i LOVE this girl
Great fence fixing!
Thank you! It's not my favorite job and I'm not the best, but I try. 😅
Well, you now know why they left the hay at the water!
That could be, which makes it even more annoying that they left perfectly good, processed hay to bust into the stack yard and tear up bales. 😂
@@FaithFamilyBeef cause they are toddlers and it taste better!
"Ok ladies, make good choices."...lol...
Ladies says ; what am I chopped liver ? 👍
Make good choices ladies!! LOL!!
The song of Desperado mending fences
Funny. Great sense of humor.
If a man posts "Ranching ALL BY MYSELF!!!" people would wonder "why all the exclamation points?" Just saying.
I’m not sure I fully understand your point here, and before I comment I want to make sure I do. So, would you mind elaborating on what you mean by this? Thanks!
Good job T.
Thanks!
hermozaaaa guera y bien trabajadora !!
Nice your dogs are trained good
Hello you can handle it
lmao......totoos r now a politically correct word for branding.......lol
I wasn’t being “politically correct.” When I said tattoo, I meant tattoo. These heifers each have a tattoo in green ink in their right ears.
Are you accepting applications for a new farm hand yet?
Unfortunately, we aren’t.
Lookin at You Red 🐮 👀
Those red ones lol
👍👌🇨🇦❤
K
Wow , you can do it , proud of you , stay safe , stay strong ! Continue on , have fun ! Bob
