I've been on Photoshop for years and years; trying to perfect this very style. You've soon me a couple of techniques that are REAL SHORTCUTS!! Thank you.
incredibly well explained, without bullshit, and straight to the point. very clean presentation and instructions. this is probably by far one of the best tutorials i've ever seen.
I well sind yu a pc por pree, all i ned from yo is the moniy for the shiping pee, its $1,000 becus its al the wey from Nigeria, contakt me on tiwitter wit the same neym as my naym on heree
I wish I could show you my end result. This was my first time ever cartooning a picture before, so I knew it wouldn't be the best. Took me just shy of 3 hours to finally get it complete. Once I figured the basic steps I was able to take over from there. Awesome tutorial! Thank you!!! ❤️
Thank you! I have never used Photoshop before today & I have never done a likeness before today, but I made some cool fan art following your tutorial & I also posted a link back to this. I hope you get tons of visitors & people start cartooning all over the place. :D
This was an awesome tut. I use Ps 7.0, I have used more up to date versions, but tbh I prefer 7.0. With that said, I have some questions about the process that you didn't state.... 1. You were using the brush or whatever tool to trace out the sections. When you then filled the sections, some overlapped, how did you crop/mask the necessary areas without having to invert and deleting? 2. When you were working away doing various things, you kept zooming in and out whilst working, how did you do this without actually hitting the zoom magnifying tool? You were zooming in and out pretty quickly and regularly I noticed. That's all I can think of for now, Thanks in advance
Personally I think this is easier in AI. Rather then PS. Because in a few steps you can have your base colors all on one layer. Then, do highlights, mid tones and shadows in separate layers above that and in between you top line work.
Yeah I couldn't get any of this work. Pen tool use needs more of a breakdown. You do one nostril and then jump to the next, but for me and many others that creats a line between both. Then I copy your nostril fill and it fills EVERYTHING outside the lines, not inside?
Very very good tutorial, it was very intuitive!!! One of the easiest to follow and understand that I have seen yet. And trust me I have watched boatloads trying to figure Photoshop and Illustrator out...I love art, drawing, computers and technology and kno a good bit about all of it yet when it comes to Photoshop and Illustrator it's like I'm bak in Kindergarten. Failing oh so badly....so bad that my parents r probably going to ground me for it (and I'm 40 years old) lmao🤣🤣!!! Still one of the best tutorials I have seen, thank u for doing them!
I saw this just today and I wanna learn how to use the pen tool so bad, I've been practicing a lot of photoshop works. I hope you have a pen tool tutorial. I find the video really interesting and informative
I have never done anything in photoshop, just a few little tweaks in gimp that i made with my experience from paint hah, it's my third day working on my version of this and holy cow did i learned a lot.. You sir are a great teacher. Almost quit like 5 times beacause of the hard lerning curve in first hours but now i can make lines with almost same speed as you and do it correctly. It ain't much. But it has a lot of value for me :) Thank you
This isn’t really a tutorial, it’s pretty much , “ watch me use the pen tool”. This would work better in illustrator, not sure why your doing it in photoshop. Then your file would be vector. And you could do the same thing a lot faster using more advanced methods. Try learning more about the programs . And try using a tablet,

Thank you for not adding any background music. Makes the presentation more personal and easy to listen to. Nice Job!
