Very informative as usual.. by the way.. you've mentioned that the glossy walnut finish in the cabin would've been a lot lighter in color (in the Med) due to UV exposure.. so the question is: 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 (or what material with what finish?) 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱 for a boat intended to be (mostly) in the Mediterranean??
And thanks again for the video James!

Hi, no worries at all. There isn't really a protective coating that you can put on the interior woodwork, the key is to keep things covered up when not using the boat - blinds closed, cover over the companionway hatch/skylights. I also like to cover my dashboard and where possible, the exterior cushions (the latter isn't always possible, but beach towels are great if you have a canopy enclose fitted - so they don't blow away). The difference between 20 degrees in the UK and 40 degrees in the Southern Adriatic, is significant when it comes to material longevity. Lots of wax on the gelcoat, helps to protect the exterior surfaces.
We have 40 odd offices across the Med, so have these issues every day with our own stock boats.
      Hope that helps.

What would be the average hrs per year for a boat like this James?

Hi Joe, typically in the Uk, we would say 50-70hrs is a normal season. Some owners just use their boats in the summer months, whereas others will be onboard throughout the year. (my favourite time on the water is often in the winter months - sea is like glass, bright blue skies, open the roof right up when underway and the central heating still keeps you warm!)

I’ve had some of the best days out on my V39 in the Winter. Lovely and warm in the cabin. Also had her up to 37knts when on 20% fuel 😉. She featured in the May Sunseeker advert with The Hut - anybody with the means should jump at Ronan
