  • Super Easy Raisin Cake Recipe
    Ingredients:
    Eggs : 3
    Sugar : 200 g ( 1 cup)
    Vanilla powder: 1 Tablespoon
    Milk : 120 ml (½ cup)
    Oil : 120 ml (½ cup)
    All Purpose Flour : 250 g (2 cups)
    Baking Powder : 1 Tablespoon
    Raisins: 70 g (1/3 cup)
    Baking Times : 40 min at 180°C

    I tried it!! Needed to bake longer at 350 F and added grated nutmeg cause I AM a Spice girl (Grenadian 🇬🇩) used almond milk. Thank you!!

    I used the exact recipe except I made cupcakes instead of a bar cake. Turned out so moist and delicious! I love it. Simple and tasty 😋 thank you !

    Thank you for the recipe. Mine came out great. I added cinnamon to the mix, also, so that the raisins don’t sink in the bottom, I coded the raisins with flour, before I put it in the batter. I also made a powdered sugar glaze for the top, and the whole loaf baked for 55°F in my oven. I would definitely add less sugar in mine next time.

      I used to believe that by rolling raisins in flour it would stop them from sinking but it doesn’t at all
      The only secret for raisins not to sink to the bottom of the cake is the quantity of flour
      The more liquid the dough is the more your raisins will sink to the bottom
      This is why in this recipe they’re putting them on top, I’ve never tried that
      So far my best recipe for raisins cake is
      500 g flour
      300 g of sugar
      250 g of butter
      Six eggs
      300 g of raisins
      Tablespoon vanilla if liquid or powdered
      Tablespoon rum
      Lemon zest optional
      Baking powder
      With these quantities of flour and fat, raisins will not sink because dough will be thick not runny

    Tried this recipe last week and it was too sweet and I felt it needed some salt. This week I have no vanilla so substituted with cinnamon, used 1/2 a cup of sugar and added 1/8th tsp of salt. Will let you know how it turns out!

      @@laalayasmine5073 it was delicious! I have since tweaked the recipe even more - substituting 1/4 of the flour for oat flour and substituting 2 tablespoons of plain flour for coconut flakes. Gives even more fibre while still being cakey 😉

    I tried the recipe, taste is really superb. Only thing is that the cake in the middle where the crack starts looks a little moist, how then will it not be moist in the middle? The rest of the cake is perfectly fine.

    Hi, easy receipe. I tried it out but I think the oil is a no no. Should have used butter.. a dash of salt as well.
    it's not come out moist and spongy. Its soft but a bit dry to taste.

    Made the cake and baked in a cake tin for 30 mins. Cake was OK but I felt it lacked moisture.
    Raisins remained at the top. Next time I'll coat it with flour and mix in.

    Could you do a video explaining how to make sponge fingers as I want to start making them as they’re perfect size to give my son every so often as he’s only 1 and as I wouldn’t need much to make a couple it’s an ideal treat once a week to make as I could make a couple different ones healthy ones but I’ve no idea how to get the shape which is where I’m stuck

    Amazing! But the raisins stayed at the top, and the rest of the cake was plain. I didn't like that. The next time I'm gonna mix it with the batter.

    If a cake cracks in the middle it's due to high temperature/opening oven too soon.

      In a pound cake , if it cracks on top it is a sign that a cake has baked perfectly.
      If it has no cracks thn the cake must be too dense inside ..

    How come 200gms sugar is equivalent to 1 cup and 250gms flour is equivalent to 2 cups? Measurement of ingredients is very important in baking.

      because sugar is much heavier than flour therefore 1 cup of sugar weighs much more than 1 cup of flour ;)

    Un beau ratage ! Pas assez cuit au centre avec même un gros trou au milieu ! Quand tu dis 180 degrés, c’est chaleur tournante ou traditionnelle ? C’est dommage que les recettes ne le précisent jamais la plupart du temps, alors que c’est très important !
