Damn I’m so late guys sorry. I was going to ninja college, ninja training, and ninja job. 4:11 I know what he was going for and it would’ve been so sick if he got it, 7:21 I’ve never seen that before, 8:29 that was sick, 9:05 clutch. Taking notes for fighting Johnny.
Heartbreaking to see a flashy wallrun barely miss. 7:21 is really cool though and I'll definitely have to practice that. 8:29 he could have alpha bladed again but was probably surprised the reversal didn't nail him LOL
@@leonlindkvist Everyone SHOULD, but since the collective memory of Johnny is that of XRD due to many other factors, namely the advertising for Johnny in Strive, most players will probably just pick Johnny without the beard. Additionally, when it comes to newer players wanting to play Johnny, when it comes to available clips of the best Johnny's, the only real clips online (Strive or XRD) showcase Johnny without the beard, leading them to simply never realize that it even exists in the first place. As for professional players, the same sort of rule applies: Because most clips of Johnny are him without a beard, he will simply continue to be played without a beard because that is all that anyone has been shown. Funnily enough, I do not disagree with the notion that it is strange this phenomenon occurs with Johnny, but it also happened with Faust when Strive released. Many players coming over from XRD were angry that Faust did not look like nor play like what they remember, despite him playing differently in just about every entry in the Guilty Gear Franchise. Which, at least to me, leads me to the conclusion that most players who play or have played XRD went to check out Strive when it had released, with a good chunk of those players sticking with Strive. It is also my belief that ArcSys understands this movement of players and thus would find it beneficial to advertise a character's old look to hopefully bank on this generation of Guilty Gear players, as well as to encourage old players to give the game another shot. Add that to the fact that Johnny was notorious top teir during the time of XRD, honestly contending for Top 1 with Elphelt for his sheer unapologetic advantage he possessed over everyone else whilst being one of the harder/hardest characters to play if you wanted to actually learn him. Which (mind you) resulted in him gaining a lot of fame in the Guilty Gear communtity, as well as the larger FGC. It does not fall out of line to believe that ArcSys also had an interest in procuring more players from the FGC by causing discourse due to Johnny's changes in gameplay utilizing his similarity in appearance to sort of conceptionally "tie" this version of Johnny to the previous one. Ergo, while it is weird that none of the top Johnny players use the beard, it is likely due to Johnny's popularity back in XRD still influencing how he is viewed today, as well as the newer generation of players now in Strive being taught that same viewpoint from the previous generation of players. That, or it could be because it just "looks" better, which in of itself could really be its own argument.
10:24 I'm sorry, did Summit just use leaf throw for distance?! He did something similar earlier with that alpha blade PRC to get the pickup, but this one was just nutty if intentional.
every second post on reddit by the few Millia players on reddit is just suffering and pain from what is happening in this game. many people, а nd top players drop her or are starting to think about boycotting Millia. You can see the pattern of what is happening. With this attitude, there will be even fewer Millia players in Strive. This is literally genocide of Millia's community. Arcsys you blind?

More like 1/5
I’m convinced high level chipp players had to be strapped down to their beds as kids
it´s weird that like none of the top Johnny players use the beard
It's probably because they "associate" more with Beardless Johnny since Johnny never had a beard back in XRD.
@@robotizedcyborg7788 but this is older johnny everyone should use beard on johnny in strive

@@robotizedcyborg7788 holy yapping but we should change that and make the bearded version the canon version in strive somehow

I feel like I've said this before about MSY but sometimes it really feels like watching myself fight, there's a lot of similarities
He’s also a very old school Johnny main that stuck around

Its possible he expected johnny to block the slash and then get him with a surprise grab
@@limelaminum2935 honestly that's what I'm thinking too, but it was followed up so well it looked planned lol
