In my community band, we tried this. Rehearsals went well and we were pleased. In front of an audience of 600, performance night, we derailed. Became known as the great train wreck of 2004.
I'm in a high school wind ensemble and we are playing this in 4 weeks wish us luck
Our community band is playing this in an outdoor concert in a few hours. Prepare to pass over this honor.
@@themerchantcopy its a fascinating piece, and easy to derail.
nobody cares
@@chrisg0001why you beefin
A fine piece of Americana. Get along little doggies , Yee Haa! Makes me think of all those John Wayne Westerns. Great ¡!!!!!!!!
‘Murica!!
@William Topete Mariscal and I love how these are the only 3 (now 4 dang it) comments on this
@William Topete Mariscal I hate America and I'm American. Land of the fee, home of the slave. America is just another godless tyrannical country, now.

Starts too fast and then slows down.
Balance is also off between woodwinds and brass - woodwinds are mostly covered up.
@@mdrapkin . . . . and i thought it was just my ears getting old. In my years of playing this piece, start at a moderately fast allegro. Not prestissimo ! ! . . . Get the metronome out ! !
@@mdrapkin balance seems perfectly fine to me. Brass is heard when it needs to be, and reeds are heard when they need to be
