MK-18 Mjölnir Animation Set

- Casual, basic animation(s?) featuring MK-18 Mod 1 Mjölnir.
No VFX, only animation with added audio.
Originally intended to be combination of game-like animations (going back precisely to idle etc.), but somewhere halfway down the line I decided to make the animation more organic and natural.
All made in Blender;
Assets from EFT and COD;
Background music from PDTH - Home Invasion.
man, when it comes to graphics shit has gotten real since the 80's
I think it’s just a 360 photo put as a backround. Why else would it be stretched and so blurry
@@S1suA game with a map 100% made from 360° photos Would be a cool concept, considering what this video looks like, don't you think?
true, video games nowadays, he even had to load a magazine
@@S1suYeah it’s HDRI
@@rocketB343swhat? That doesn't even make sense. You can't use HDRIs as textures
"basic animation"
bro this is more realilstic than literally ANY other video game animations XD
I LOVE THE DETAILS on the mag loading!!!!!! i like how he has to use more force and eventually both thumbs as the spring inside the magazine gets tighter!!
There are triple A studios that would kill for this level of dedication, really appreciated how the last round loaded was a bit harder than the rest, good attention to detail , stellar work brother !
I like the detail of the last round being placed into the mag, the operator actually struggles to place in and has to use more force.
Man, imagine a fun gimmick where every bullet in your mag is random.
One can be armor piercing other might be incendiary or anything else, really. The thing is you will never know which bullet will be fired next
random crits in a nutshell
A cooler gimmick would be loading rounds individually with different types
"I'm going to use the Mk18 this time!"
"Which one?"
"The big one."
Ok, we crossed the uncanny valley.
No...we literally took a rocket booster and busted straight over it.
This shit is too real, mate.
I love the detail of miscalculating the amount of ammo left.
The "missing" round is still in the chamber when he pulls the mag out for the first time. What are you talking about
7 bullets loaded, 7 bullets fired. What is the problem here?
the recoil makes iit look like the gun is going through your shoulder ngl
violent camera shake to resemble your shoulder being pushed back would look stupid though, i'd rather accurate recoil and steady camera than nothing.
@@Alurtoll that is true after a long thought I was thinking of something of how escape from tarkov does their recoil recently and from my experience irl and with the game it’s probably one of the most realistic recoil in games I have ever seen
These kind of animations and graphics for dayz gun mechanics would be insaneee
i thought this was real becuase of the skybox.
The thumbnail got me questioning reality
first part of the animation made me realize that no game depicts your character actually handloading the magazines even if that's a feature in the game
DayZ has an animation tied to it
@@exjq yeah fair point, i cant really think of any other games that do that though, especially with the same level of detail as shown here (dayz is kind of just a basic looping animation but they do show the motion at least unlike some other games)
@@trollwaffenunit1garrison784 i get what you mean, i would definitely love to see those sorts of things tried out in more survival & extraction shooters especially with this level of attention & detail
Escape from Tarkov it loads individually in the inventory, but the character loads the same revolvers and shotguns with a similar animation))
Jesus, you've managed to capture the feeling of shooting a gun in uncanny way, you could have a simple game just with these animations and it'd be an instant hit.
I like how your shoulder does absolutely nothing when you aim
for those wondering about graphics levels. there is none. this is just a 360 image that the animation is dropped into
He's loading black tip ammo in a 338 lapua while in the forest... The deer has composite armor or something??
not the deer were after
Though Lapua ammo type mostly coming automatically in black tip for millitary use since it's not made for deer hunting or hunting in general, nor especially the Mjölnir as a hunting gun. xD
The Lapua is very well known for its penetration power, even without black tip already since the high speed, which the people are usually after.
You can penetrate ESAPI/XSAPI easily with this gun and black tips.
better than you could do and its an example scene bud
you a grown man doing this? how pathetic@@Somnix999
@@souljaboy.6668 Who are you? The internet police? Get over yourself.
Very high quality looking, but the recoil animation needs a lot of work. No rifle flies toward the shooters eye like that when you fire.
after left hand pulls charging handle and the right hand repositions to the grip, that subtle little hand repositioning the left hand does from lower receiver to the mlok / barrel is just beautiful. amazing stuff dude
HOLY HELL THIS IS AN ANIMATION!?
love the animation but quick suggestion, that bolt carrier group is heavy, chambering the rifle should feel powerful, also, when aiming down sights, the rear sight moves backwards whilst the front sight stay oddly still making the rifle feel like its stretching. good work though!
I second this, more of a thwump like on a Barrett
Depends on whether we're talking aftermarket or from SWORD International directly. ua-cam.com/users/clipUgkxWtjwySUYLfay_DQmivfkoyNVrUFZsBjT. SpartanTC81Reviews has a video from 9 years ago showing off the Mk18 at an Expo- that BCG moved smoother than my M16's when I went through the recruit depot in San Diego. I will say some people buy heavier BCGs for more weight and stability on distance shots, but that factory floor model is light and smooth.
If this was a game, I would be happy
you are HEAVILY underrated
Dat’s what I’m saying
THAT RECOIL ANIMATION THO!!!!!
I was about to say "Damn, he really makes this look like a video game." Then I realized that this was a video game.
The thumbnail looked so real😭
This is insaneley well animated, the only big issue im seeing is that recoil is very light for a .338 lapua mag, otherwise insane animation
if your rifle recoiled that far, you're shoulder would have been dislocated by a whole foot
Ima be real I clicked on this video just seeing the thumbnail thinking, "Oh that's a cool looking gun", and I didn't even realize it was an animation until I read the title, that's how good your animation is lol.
animation is the movement, very unlikely he models these guns
@@souljaboy.6668 Yeah that's what I meant, the model is from EFT, he even states that in the description, but the animation is fluid enough that in conjunction with the model, (and the background), it had me genuinely convinced until I read the title.
Fantastic animation and rendering, but that recoil travel is way too hard, especially in ADS - it's as if the weapon is not being shouldered at all.
agreed
I mean it is a .338 Lupua Magnum, but the gun is also gigantic and heavy, so it is most certainly exaggerated, most animators seem to make guns have too much recoil, it is just their thing.
@@mwhad9991 Recoil is still much on the eye I think, the right way to convey the power of the caliber would come from particle and visual effect work like muzzle flash and smoke effects combined with sound effects.
This person is an animator and did a good job on the fundamentals.
Bro I thought that this was real, good job!
brain isn’t braining
just imagine a survivor like game where you find weapons, mags, and rounds, and you have to reaload your guns with these animations lol
Yea, thinking of Fallout - just the thing is, instead of using such photo realistic style and a totally new advanced engine ( like UE5 for example) they dicided to use a totally outdated bad engine which existing since y2000...
you just described DayZ
@@OFFICIALdreamwalker and scum
@@liamzakhaev touche
Escape from tarkov is exactly that. Has weapon malfunctions and you have to scavenge for guns rounds and mags.
The recoil pattern is correct, although it goes back way too much. Very satisfying otherwise.
when packing a mag the bullets dont really SNAP in like they do here or slide in so effortlessly, i remember my fathers old kalashnikov was very tough to load bullets into especially after around 10 rounds had been loaded
in the beginning i thought it was real life and i was amazed at how effortlessly he was putting the bullets in the mag.
Those sound fx are crispy af, very nice work
As someone who hopes to become an animator one day I love this
Gad DAYUM! That is really satisfying, keep up the good work! Or don’t I can’t tell you what to do
i thought it was a real hand moving like animation until the weapon showed up!!!🤩🤩🤩 this is so nice
Love that he animated the rounds as slap rounds. Super cool detail that only people “who know” would think to do
If ever Ubisoft creates a remake of Far Cry 2 they should hire you
How do you only have 200 subs? These look incredible!!
1k*
@@rocketB343s well hes gained a few in 8 days lol
impressive animation
nice level of detail!
some people in here are complaining it's too slow.
So. Proposal: Have the view model snort a line of cocaine prior to the animations and just have them go by really fast. Then they can't complain you were too slow.
I love that idea honestly
this is the sort of ideas we need to apply to our works
u lost it 2,100,000 RUB
looks like the rifle is under gassed lol
A hidden gem
Looks cool. Would at more "weight" to racking the slide back. I can imagine a gun like this has a pretty hefty spring
Found deceased after the butstock pierced his face
Sweet, nice stow animation too, feels like sweeping a huge piece of metal away
Lower the resolution quality a little, and you will see hyper realism, the animation is still a little bit mechanical feeling, however, not bad for not using full body tracking
oh boy THIS LOOKS FIRE
pov tarkov chads testing out their new gun 3 week of wipe
damn defend yourself against the government with that
someone should hire this guy
it has a cold war feel to it.
huh
@@SanchezV7 like when he was putting in the bullets in the mag. The movements were cartoonish, like in Call of duty Cold war
@TheKlang7 what u mean bro
It's really good, I think though, as a nitpick (and this applies to MANY other shooters) is how the recoil animations are handled for stocked rifles.
I'm presenting these nitpicks only because your animation and rendering style is really on point in contrast to the recoil animation handling.
It strikes me as odd that the firearm drives straight back towards your face when firing while the weapon is shouldered while the camera shakes at the moment you fire.
When shouldering a firearm, the stock is planted into your shoulder, taking up much of the slack. So when you fire, the gun kicks back while the stock plows into the soft tissues of your shoulder, relatively unimpeded until it hits your bones. THEN that shock travels through your skeleton, ultimately reaching your skull which houses your eyeballs (resulting in a delayed camera-shake).
After framing-thru a video of someone firing a .338 rifle (on a bipod mount) at 60FPS, the gun would travel back a short distance for about 2 frames unimpeded.
On frame 3, the stock hits the marksman's shoulder bones, causing his upper torso to knock back but cause his head to pivot forwards slightly because the backwards force travels through the neck from bottom to top.
After 3 frames, his neck seems to run out of slack and THEN his head stops pivoting and it accelerates back for around 7 frames, until it hits the extreme position.
Finally, there's around 10 frames of recovery from the shock.
don't add up so much dramatic swings to each movement. More fluid motion to each movement, except for the movements that DO require a sizeable ammount of force
Nah it looks cool
yeah I noticed that too, it has the Disney bounce
good lord I hope it wasn't rendered in cycles with that HDRI for such a simple scene
Explain.
@@Leon14000 Cycle mode takes much longer to render than Eevee, if my brain didnt fail me.
@@mousesunset ty babe Merry Christmas
@@Leon14000 it is also, much more limited, eevee is how you would expect a game to render, like if it was on unreal for example, cycles allows you to use more advanced and flashy eye candy while having WAAAAY better lighting accuracy compared to eevee by letting it "think" more on each frame
Bro I'm IMPRESSED
Imagine if you make it into an open world extraction shooter with IGI-vibe, offline single player.
stalker gamma, and spt tarkov (both mods of a game) would be your best bet for that currently imo
@@NotConcrete what does this mean? sptarkov is great ive been playing it nonstop
@@NotConcrete it isnt against TOS what is against TOS is a version of the game not using BSG servers but still being able to connect to other players
... I now want a game with magazine consolidating that actually has animations associated...
Also, Holy Moley you've got smooth animations!
The mag loading animation is very impressive and the fluidity is great. I can’t wait to see you make more!
Good but the back sight wouldn't recoil that much. Or that character has no shoulder.
It’s some CoD Vanguard recoil lol.
If this is going to become a game, I am SO down to play
I don't know if it's because I've played so many games that I can't tell the difference between reality and virtual reality, or if it's just the advanced graphics.
why are people in the comments crying like babies? animation is good and graphics too. They just like "that bullet won't work in forest 🤓" , "It's so slow" please shut up and continue to playing cod mw
beautiful stuff. only complaint is the rear sight coming back so far during sighted recoil. unless the buttpad and stock are phasing through the shooter's shoulder, the muzzle should rise as opposed to the entire gun shifting backwards.
Is it me or the charging handle should be pulled way further back?
Would be cool to have a single player rouge lite game, where mags depending on the condition and the type (Like it could be a very expensive mag, but it'll feed like shit or break easily) Guns would need screws to replace, have to find locktite to keep screws from reversing. If you are running and go prone to dive a very small chance youll break your optic, flaslight, laser or anything attached and how it breaks is random like did the mount break, the scope and so on
PUT IT IN STALKER GAMMA 💯💯💯💯💯💯
True it would look so nice
Your posing game is really good. Keep it up!
0:23 the delay swings too much like disney pixar animations.
0:35 the rifle loses support from the left hand when it drops, it should slump down a little.
0:38 same thing, stays too ridged while held with one hand
amazing work though really admire the weapon checks.
nah dude wtf

Overall crazy good, but I think the recoil should/would be a lot more snappy and violent than that with less horizontal travel.
Feels a bit jittery, more noticeable as 2x speed. Its like you arent running curves between frames or something? Idk feels weird but still looks good
Slowing it down, seems like you focused in on to many small micro movements which translates into weird jitter at full speed. Still very good
that weird jitter is realistic it takes YEARS of muscle memory to make anything not have jitters, his dont even look glitchy, they just look like if someone had perfect mocap.@@SolarTara

Here before the 2k the 5k the 10k the 50k the 100k and the 1M
This is just so incredible, this is truly the future of next generation FPS. What a better way to shake up the genre then to have ultra realistic mechanics like this.

Nice, not often you get a Stovepipe malfunction.
The only thing, seperating this from real life, are the missing impacts of the bullets (Which wouldn't work with a 2D Image of cause)
In other words, really nice Animation.
another thing seperating this from real life, is that this is fake
