Yeah this faction has been really popular everywhere. They excel so much in Good vs Evil, that I would expect at least one army of them at every event with this format
I have to see the exact instance where I used it but its jargon for having one model charge two models. However in this context I may have used it to mean have two models charge one model. That would technically be an incorrect way to use that word though. The first example I just mentioned is the more common usage
I've been running this list for a few months and it is allot of fun for a new player like myself I have struggled with low numbers with all four heroes any tips on who to bring for a 800point army
All four heroes will be tough, even at 800 points. I recommend leaving Gimli behind until you get to 1000pts. Otherwise your numbers will be way too small.
It seems that most of the Legendary legions were designed for competitive play in mind. So on paper, I would say at least 80% of them would do well in tournaments. Of course, I still have to test them to find out.
Gothmogs legion is also quite good in competitive play, and again, much like the return of the king faction, it's ESPECIALLY good in good vs evil formatted tournaments.
Random thought, with the advanced rules section could arargorn, gimli and legolas be passengers on a rider of the deads horse to bypass water terrain? Or cud they go prone and have a warrior of the dead or 2 carry them accross the water like an infant? Page 111 for passengers, and 110 for carrying models lol
Passenger rules are normally disregarded in competitive play. See Dernhelm for proof of that. It lists her as an exception for passenger rules in competitive play
GhakraZ:Gameplays y Reviews theyre most likely going to come out with more isengard heros in another expansion(hopefully the next) so it will just be outdated as soon as that comes out. Keeping my fingers crossed for saruman of many colors tho, and can we get ONE named uruk hai captain thats NOT a scout captain!? I really hope so lol
If I have a suspicion that a faction will be updated soon then I usually will hold off on that faction. Isengard is definitely one such case of this. I imagine a Two Towers version of Gondor at War is on the horizon. So I will wait a bit before posting a video on that
Hi, great video. Am I missing something - I thought Warriors and Riders of the Dead could only benefit from Heroic Actions called by the King of the Dead as per 'The Dead and the Living' rule'?
@@dchobbitleague8191 After re-reading it carefully I realise that I have always read that rule wrong! That would have made quite a difference in my last few games! Thanks. Keep up the good work.
Yes I intend to cover all the factions. The problem is that I have to play many variations of each faction in order to get a good feel for them before I make a video on them
I am playing this army versus an 800 point army of gwaihir, 6 eagles and Oin, Balin and Bilbo - any tips and suggestions? One of my thoughts was establishing a tetrad of 4 dead around Legolas with some distance to ensure the eagles can't charge him.
I apologize about the late response on this. I hope your game hasnt happened yet lol. As for that army, You actually have a lot that can defeat it. A single Heroic Combat with Aragorn combined with the Witch King will kill two Eagles a turn. Tie up the dwarves with the Dead and assassinate Eagles quickly. If Gwaihur shows up then you should be able to hold him down with the free Heroic moves. Though worst case is you win the Tied Fight Roll off and assassinate him first. Just make sure to call a Heroic Combat with the King of the Dead in that case to make sure your fight happens before Eagles throw models into your combat and knock everyone down!
I'm back now! :) I just had to test all these armies thoroughly before posting videos about them. My new videos are Goblin Town and Corsairs ua-cam.com/video/mC1LJ3KRoKA/v-deo.html
You are right! Its now a 2+. I guess I just keep calling it an autohit due to it being that way for so many years. I'll make sure to correct that language in future videos with him in it.
The latest hotness. Especially good in Evil vs Good themed tournaments

Always enjoy these. Thank you
Thanks John! I'll keep them coming!
I'm glad you've come back to life and are doing vids again!
Yeah I'm glad to be back as well! I just have to keep going to tournaments to keep these videos consistent!
Glad you're back!
Love these vids, subbed
Awesome vid. I’m super newb , just started with the pelennor box. So what does multi-charge mean ? You mention it a few times.
Thanks !

Could you do a corsairs of umbar video soon?

Great video as always now my question is how do the other legendary legions tend to fair in competitive play?

Two years on - Have your opinions/tips on building and playing the army changed in this time?
You could tell us which army lists counter this super popular army! :)
And could you please make a How to Play: Balrog + goblins video?
Thank you!
Agreed! I have a ton of goblins and gonna get a balrog soon

DC HobbitLeague ahh, kinda disappointing =[
Could you do one about Isengard? (your outdated one is still really good)

Warriors and Riders of the Dead can benefit from anyone's Heroic Actions. Its just that the King of the Dead's Heroic Actions only affect the Dead

Will you do faction how to play / buy with the new rules?
@CJED I meant the other factions, my bad I wasn't very clear haha

Does the warhorn enhances the defense (aka courage) of the target of the blade of the dead?

@@dchobbitleague8191 I think worse is many still use it as auto. With the 42 in effect there is little reason not to just fire thrice.
