Is it so different? From a fan who followed the Longpigs everywhere when I was 17, it feels like their just released a new single. Feel free to go in any musical direction Richard :)
Haunting and atmospheric I could imagine this track making an Alison Bruce crime novel playlist as other Hawley tracks have worked so well. Just wish I could hear Richard's voice a bit higher in the mix. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the album.
Overall I really like it, but the "middle-8 break" doesn't really go anywhere or enhance the song in anyway so it feels a bit formulaic. And I agree, his voice is too low in the mix.
such a top tune man, the fact the bloke is a true gent doesn't hurt either
This is incredible. I just bought tickets to see him based on his old music. I can't WAIT to see this album performed live!
WOW simply WOW. I'm all-in.
The genial Mr Hawley can do no wrong, continue to take giant strides towards complete world domination!
Reminds me of "Dance Little Liar" and "AKA What A Life!" :D Brilliant Stuff by Hawley

This choir reminds me choir in this track (from 3:25) watch?v=PVDW7lmVPg0
Of course I like both.
Overall I really like it, but the "middle-8 break" doesn't really go anywhere or enhance the song in anyway so it feels a bit formulaic. And I agree, his voice is too low in the mix.
Makes me think a little about Mark Lanegan .

Moving on.
Not really my specialty.
This is what Morrissey should sound like...
... but doesn't.
Like, but don't like his voice so buried in the mix. It should shine but doesn't.
awful
