The character animator(s) on this game really did an excellent job. Very bouncy and sharp movement, kind of reminds me of Pixar stuff, or some Dreamworks stuff like How to Train Your Dragon.
I know nothing about the game but I’m going to guess that the owl is the uncle polymorphed into an animal to get out of his debt or something like that…
SPOILER: Owl is Uncle Oswald. You can see it in the animation the way he tries to deflect answers about himself. It should have been obvious to me right from the start, but it didn't click on Day One. Also, I'm streaming this on Twitch and uploading videos and I do one thing all the time: brew potions. If you're not a brewin', you're a losin'.
But also I bought this game day one after seeing your preplay of it. I played it for a solid week and 100% I bee-lined that walrus romance. Defo worthy of my time, thank you so much for introducing me. I get it was sponsored- but this is one worth it’s salt.
1:22:03 the maths is all about ratios and common denominators. you need to mix this one with the ratio of 3:4:3, the next perfect step up would be 6:8:6, then 9:12:9, and so on
I've never seen segments like the Blind Taste Test with Quinn. I need to update and get back into this! I took a break after almost a full day of playing when it initially released. I can't tell you how relieved I am that Baptiste isn't a total jerk-off. He might be privileged and a fancy-pants, but he's genuinely kind.
and once again jesses 1st episode convinces me to buy a game!! (i knew after the first 5 minutes of the first episode of your Stick of Truth Playthrough that i had to have that game -- and after the first episode of SR3 and 4 with crendor that those games were also must haves for me) keep it up man ... TB would be proud!!
Jesse is one of my favorite people, but watching him struggle with elementary level ratios is a bit painful (mostly because as a teacher myself I want to help him so badly, especially when he was so close to the right answers multiple times). I'm concerned about how he's going to handle the more complicated math that later ingredients and potions require, but I'm rooting for him! I'm sure he'd feel the same if I was trying to explain some history though ;) Keep living the dream Jesse!
Bought this after seeing you play the demo, Jesse, and I don't regret it for a second! Great music, incredible charm and just a chill and great time! Thanks for featuring the game and I'm looking forwards to seeing you play it!
Another potential RP benefit of putting the stones in the brewing room is, that its less flammable in case something hot accidentally gets too far from the cauldron.
I've only seen Jesse play the demo and I'm only about 11 minutes into the video but I feel like I just realized what one of the big "twists" will be in the game story-wise. I'm curious to see if I'm right but maybe it's super obvious and I'm not as smart as I think I am.
The Masterwork patch for this got released the other day with a load of improvements Inc. full voice acting. No better time to play Potionomics than right now!
I love when jesse plays gems like this. I'm going to have to buy it now. Like I bought griftlands after he played it. He has very good taste in games, and so many of these I simply wouldn't have heard of otherwise.
Hey Jesse, if you like anything Disney, you might like/try Disney Dreamlight Valley. It's a bit like Animal crossing. Just a suggestion. Love your videos. 😄❤
A game that doesnt shovel payable cosmetics down your throat with all the real money bullshit popping up everywhere so you can actually immerse yourself in the game. MMMMM What a fucking invigorating breeze of fresh air!
5:04 she is been told that he is dead and that he has this outrageous debt but if it was me ied be like ok I want proof, no proof no debt, I also want to see the body (I mean he probably has quite a few useful organs I can get quite a bit for.... what I’m a Sith I’m just been practical).
Note that this is not commonly how debt works, at least in the US. The estate pays the debt with what is left, and the rest is never paid back. You certainly do NOT have to accept the debt of any relatives (doing so is a mistake and gives them proof that you agreed). The only time you would have to, is if you want to keep the property in the estate (i.e. the shop).
It speaks to the power of personality. Oh course much like Jessie I wish to see the romance with all the cute ladies. But if he chooses the muscle covered walrus man I am fully on board. He is such a gread character. I'd be interested in seeing statistics for romancing him given he is very much not the archetypical target of pursuit in these sort of games.

Dang, you got some stellar voice acting skills! Of all the gaming UA-camrs I’ve watched, your voices are definitely one of the best
The artstyle in this game, and the quality of the animations are just so fun to look at.
OMG I FOUND ALL THE JESSE LETS PLAYS. IM SO HERE FOR THIS.
i feel the caps was appropriate for my enthusiasm.
I know nothing about the game but I’m going to guess that the owl is the uncle polymorphed into an animal to get out of his debt or something like that…
I thought the same. It's a fun story twist, but I am so grumpy at him.
I had a "End of The Usual Suspects" moment when I realized OsWaLd.
What a twist

Unintentional
I bought this after your initial preview run, it just looked so cute with super expressive character animations

8:40 so I’ve not played this and I’ve not watched any of it till this LP but why do I have this sneaking suspicion that the Owl is her a Uncle?
I love love love potionomics! Cool how it's a constructed deckbuilder, rather than the drafting rougelike which most deckbuilders are.

I like how Jesse really related to the "see and celebrate your own strengths" line.
I so want this game. I'm so glad you're making a series on this. Definitely got to pick it up soon. The art direction alone is worthwhile.
I completed the game a couple days ago, it was SO DELIGHTFUL!
This game is wonderful! The characters are delightful and Jesse just makes them all the better! You reeled me in and sold me!

Muktuk's advice is so real❤ looking forward to the rest of this playthrough ❤❤❤
looking forward to the rest of this
Bought this after seeing you play the demo, Jesse, and I don't regret it for a second! Great music, incredible charm and just a chill and great time! Thanks for featuring the game and I'm looking forwards to seeing you play it!
Muktuk is the most based walrus I've ever seen, love that man.
Picked this up on your recommendation a few weeks ago and I blasted through it in a few days. Loved it. Hope there's an expansion
I am officially in love Jesse’s owl voice ❤
Another potential RP benefit of putting the stones in the brewing room is, that its less flammable in case something hot accidentally gets too far from the cauldron.
Mint. Too precious, too pure for this wicked world.
Been so excited for this to come out!!
Love the 'call me Al' cover
YAS I wanted you to post this!
I bet the uncle faked his death to avoid getting kneecapped by his loan sharks. I'm willing to bet he's the owl.
I've only seen Jesse play the demo and I'm only about 11 minutes into the video but I feel like I just realized what one of the big "twists" will be in the game story-wise. I'm curious to see if I'm right but maybe it's super obvious and I'm not as smart as I think I am.
I haven't gotten this game, but Muktuk REALLY makes me want to play it.
Watching Jesse do his hardest not to do 1 berry, 1 slime, 2 mushrooms was driving me crazy
Sooooooo..the owl is actually the uncle, isn't he?
The Masterwork patch for this got released the other day with a load of improvements Inc. full voice acting. No better time to play Potionomics than right now!

You should play more... love the lazy shopkeeper... lets ship those two
This game looks like a hell of a lot of fun.
This game looks so charming. I wish it came to consoles, not really a reason they cant release this on the Ps5 or X
LOVE YOU JESSE! Will #SGS play #SIGNALIS ? That would be Awesome!
Since you all like the retro good stuff, I think it would be perfect!
Love this! Is there more of this pt on your twitch?
I like Mint. Romance her. Give her your strongest potion.
you may not like it but that walrus is what peak male performance looks like
God I want this game. It looks great. Maybe it will go on sale soon
I would like to politely request more Potionomics

The owl is Oswald. I bet on it
I wish I could use this as a teaching opportunity for Jesse, so he doesn't need to guess the numbers. Lol

Oh, this is gonna be fun!!

You wanna know what it’s like to smooch Muktuk? It’s marwalrus. 😜
i always thought it was pronounced (ha-lain) but you were the teacher jesse ha ha
5:04 she is been told that he is dead and that he has this outrageous debt but if it was me ied be like ok I want proof, no proof no debt, I also want to see the body (I mean he probably has quite a few useful organs I can get quite a bit for.... what I’m a Sith I’m just been practical).
