I still love this game, I remember unlocking every ending to this game. This game is very unique, cause every choice to you to have different family and I love that when your 1st character grow too old or die then your son, daughter or adoptive child will take over to continue to kill dragon and have they own adventure.
After you've wittled down its health, you need to defeat Dahaka with a specific type of attack. Hint: Play the tutorial level again and pay close attention to the types of attacks you are being taught.
Never played this one, but I remember thinking at the time that the story branching seemed really novel, for an RPG. Rather partial to the box art, too. Great coverage as ever mate 😊🙂
Figured this would be the end game score based on my own time with it. Seemed like it was destined to be a 6 or 7/10 experience. Cool little game if you can look past the issues tho! Nice of Dave to pick you something pleasant, I was expecting much worse 😂
Yeah it's the definition of a flawed gem. Still glad I played it, but wish they made a sequel to fix the issues. Nevermind! I am shocked too, if you told me Chris' pick would be waaaay worse than Dave's I would have laughed you out the room 🤣
I honestly can't believe I beat this game as a little kid and then doubting myself whether I could beat Dark Souls games as an adult. It really makes you wonder how a child's lack of concern for mistakes helps with playing these kinds of action-RPGs.
I’ve never heard of this game before, but looks like something I’d enjoy! Thanks for the great review! I’ll try to nab a copy to play this on my Polymega 👍.
I rented this one day looking for Legend of Dragoon, back on the old days of video game magazines and demo discs. It's no Dragoon but I had fun with it. A decent weekend rent.... ooh, better be careful, don't wanna get sued
Beautiful timeless graphics. I’ve never played this game but this is definitely one of the best PS1 graphics I’ve seen! I miss when games can have this style of graphics. Not realistic and not too anime-ish. Just the type of 3D that’s purely made for a video game. 90s aesthetics is the best indeed. This game definitely deserves a remaster but one that should faithfully retain the art style.
Okay, this looks like a lot of fun, and I really need to give it a shot. For some reason I always think that the Dragon Buster series is an extension of the Tower of Druaga series... Great review, and I'm shocked that I'm the one who picked the terrible game for you to review (although I have thoughts on that in my video), and not Dave!
Never seen this game in the wild. I do love the PS1 RPG library and I might try this one out even tho its kinda mid but damn the music sounds excellent in this title.
I'm currently playing this on my Vita, and while the controls feel excellent, the game structure is... weird. Everything is either too easy or forgiving, and the supposed branching paths are put on a seemingly linear fashion, so there is no exploration whatsoever, nor prediction of future consequences, to the point that if no one said that there were different outcomes, the average player would just face it as a linear action game. A good action game for the time, but the invulnerability period of enemies after being hit is a bit annoying. Also, shops are terrible, for how economy works in the game.

I love this game. One of my biggest regrets from my gaming childhood was not beating it. Just couldn't figure out how to beat Dahaka.

This game is going to be so epic if it gets a fair remake but also it will be very difficult
Would love to see this kind of branching story in a modern release!

It's a really cool idea. Wish more games tried it. Cheers!
choldhood nostalgia 😢

@@Steadysphere Chris with the swerve! He was the real heel all along...
Really seems like an awesome game, wish I could have played it as a lad
There are a ton of ps1 gems out there that got overlooked sadly 😞

I should give this a go!
Worth a spin imo!
So many memories :)

It's a decent time if a bit basic.
Careful mate! 😂
I'M ON TO YOU!!! My lawyers are on standby! 🤣
(Great choice for a review!)

You always know when you see a PS1 game, a distinct style!
@@Steadysphere So true. :)
I'll have to keep a look out for this game, looks like it would be an interesting time!
It is! Worth a look!

It's not Namco's finest game but it's good fun, and yeah the music kind of rules in this one :D
If I love Brave Fencer Musashi, then will I like this game?
I haven't played Musashi myself so I can't really say.
I've played both. To answer your question: yes, you will.
@@TirantWhite Thanks for the assist!

Fair points there, definitely a flawed game but decent. The shops were awful, definitely agree there!
