They are members of the Kodokan; they pay a monthly fee and train at a time convenient to themselves. It's normally people who train before going to work or to school. Not national athletes at all. (They are in the Main Dojo, on the 7th floor)
I can see at least 2 national champions there from ryotokuji. Kawabata and Ishikawa. Sato was also one of the top -100kg players in japan. These guys are world class.
their ground techniques and theory are different from bjj due to comp rules and different influences , they are also going pretty light on each other avoiding common bjj positions for the finish .
Who're the guys training? I mean what level and season of training is this? Are they office people who practice Judo in their free time, new learners, club members(I'm not sure of how the dynamic for this is in Japan), or Nation Athletes? Are they preparing for a tournament soon or have they just come from one? Thanks :)
Gracies said they have 600 plus techiques but they (Gracies) also said only 26 will really useful in streetfighting and all of those 26 exist in Judo or the Parent name jiujitsu. If purpose is self-defense judo is enough.
Hello. I would like to know, do you travel over the countrys? If yes I would be more than happy if you come in Cyprus. We have a big place to train Judo in Larnaca, Kiti. Please message me if you want to know more for where our training dojo is.
both kano jiu jitsu and gracie jiu jitsu have have stand up wrestling and ground wrestling techniques , the japanese style obviousley favors throws more and the brazillian style favors the ground , not that hard to figure out guys
Dear buddy. Don't demonstrate your lack of intelligence by being so presumptuous. I am a blue belt- 2 stripe under Carslon Gracie Jr. lineage and have been fighting MMA since 2003 and went pro went pro last October! No, definitely not a UFC champ :P, but one doesn't need to be one to analyze the work out in this video. AND, like i said, their take downs must be viscous!
I want to go to the Kodokan SOOO bad. Dream of every Judoka!

They're university players I think.

Instablaster.
How judo is handled in japan is great, from dojos to skill, why wouldn't anyone want to practice in japan
I came here for the judo, I stayed for the baby sounds in the background.
I did my first judo training here 4 years ago. I wish I could still attend but it's a little far away...
I learned Judo like this in Sao Paulo with my Japanese Sensei in the 80''s. SATO!!! ENTO!!!
Interesting. The warm ups they do are similar to what we do in my bjj class. I guess I'm seeing the roots here.
We do ground work/grappling.... Tuesday night Judo is Ground only....
Hopefully I get to train there soon.
Judo is awesome!
we need to see more Judokas in ADCC and mma. rolling with a true Judoka is like rolling with a truck

Great video. Does Goshin offer the ground game part of Judo as well or is it a throws only school? Thanks.
Why are the boys always bald or have very short hair in Japanese dojos? What's that tradition?
does doing judo mean you have to do splits? cus i can't do them
WHERE'S THE REST OF IT
Agree always go to the source!
San ka sab thande pad gya hai kya ?🤔🤔🤔🤔

Said by another internet UFC-champ. How many bjj-trainings have you attended so far, or did you just copy your opinion from a forum? ;-)

scorpion.
I don't see much different between judo's and BJJ's ground fight.
these black belt judokas look like white belt bjjkas! :D but i'm sure their take downs are viscous!!!
Also, I will correct myself on my initial statement. These black belt judokas look like BLUE BELT bjjkas! There....happy now?? :P
umm, yessss ...... they just started of in each others guard!! not from stand up!! hmm...interesting!
looks like BJJ to me
bjjkas? lol

lot better ground fighting & lot less throws
