Geoffrey Gallante, "Been a Long Long Time"

- 9yr-old Geoff performs the classic "Been a Long Long Time" in the same fashion as did virtuoso trumpeter Harry James way back in 1945..It was a #1 hit for James and his vocalist Kitty Kallen 65 years ago and the song has lost none of it's charm all these years later. Geoff has the talented U.S. Air Force vocalist Sgt. Felita Rowe sharing the stage and Lieutenant Daniel Boothe conducts the U.S. Air Force Band of Flight, What a thrill and honor it was for young Geoff to perform on stage with such a fine ensemble! Thanks Lieutenant Boothe!
Ok so I’m writing this 10 years later. This kid had better phrasing than many adults playing this tune.
He's really got the James vibrato down pretty well.
What a sound this young lad has, he is destined to go far on the trumpet.
I love this, 3000
Same
Exactly
This young man performed for us (Tri-State Jazz Society) this year and I was fortunate enough to see him live. In a few years, you will probably have to pay a pretty penny to hear this young man play.
The Air force band running back up in this is awesome. Big band is the birth music of the Air Force.
i so enjoyed her singing ....and the two together were unbeatable..and when he made the gesture to call him..and got right back in sync..i absolutely loved this song..i played it over and over and over..wish i could by his record..
CRAZY GREAT TALENT. MUSICAL INSIGHT
i just cant watch this enough..i just love love love this little guy..and this song..i truly could listen to this all day long..wonderful job Geoff...makes my day to watch this and listen to you..

Amazing! This kid plays like an old pro. Great tone, vibrato and expression. Thanks for sharing....
decade has past
OMG, The lady sings from her soul! What a voice!!!
Wonderful smooth sound and a beautiful Embechre. Keep up the great work on your horn young man 😎❤️🎺
Geoff- You're listening to the right people. Your sound is wonderful for any age player. Your videos are inspiring us older players. Your development is extraordinary, to say
the least. All the best to you.
That's my sister Felita Rowe singing!
She's so good👍
She is by far the best singer I’ve heard sing this song resides Kitty Kalen. Bravo Zulu!
Wow she's really good especially on stage where poor. Acoustics makes it's hard.
Wow , fantastic , and she sings lovably too
Damn! He’s great!
👏👏
Wow, you're just getting better and better every time I hear you. Beautiful tone and vibrato, kiddo!
Wow i can't believe how good he is. I play trumpet too i have played for ahmost 2 years. He is way better than me. I hope to sound like him one day.
What an utter talent. With such ease and ability, this lad reminds me of that other trumpet great, Louis Armstrong, the man who could make the horn talk. And this kid certainly can. Good for you, Geoff! Use your God-given talent.
Outstanding young man, wonderful sound and style
I love
You are both Fantastic. Gave me Goosebumps.💕🥀🎶🥀💕🥰🎺🎺
It's Been A Long, Long Time
/
Lyrics
Kiss me once, then kiss me twice
Then kiss me once again
It's been a long, long time
Haven't felt like this, my dear
Since I can't remember when
It's been a long, long time
You'll never know how many dreams
I've dreamed about you
Or just how empty they all seemed without you
So kiss me once, then kiss me twice
Kiss me once again
It's been a long, long time

This kid has real talent. Check out "Merry Christmas from Geoff" where he plays piano just as good as he plays his cornet. Keep up the good work and keep practicing.
Felicidades chamaco, sigue adelante, un abrazo desde Costa rica y te manda saludos STEVE ROGERS!!!!!!
Wow geoff, that was GREAT! And did she ever call you? Lol see ya!

Geoff, this is outstanding! I am looking forward to seeing you in Allentown on August 14th. Hopefully, we'll have an opportunity to meet. My nephew, Cale (from the restaurant nearby), has asked me if he might go with me to the concert.
My best to you and your family!
