Good video. I have a Celestron 130 Newtonian I want to do this to. Do you have to re collimate the mirrors after installation? What did you use for the "gasket" between the focus housing and the tube?
It never hurts to recollimate after moving things around like that as the focal path will shift a little. As for the gasket I didn't really need one the for was close enough but I would have used felt or foam. With hind sight in a humid place maybe black silicone around the edges might make sense? 🤔 what do you think?
I plan to use a thin foam between the focus assembly and OTA. I am thinking that will isolate any vibrations when using the focuser for viewing.@@JeliSpace
It is for sure an improvement from the stock one. However it will not hold the weight of the ZWO 2600mm with filter wheel. The tension can be adjusted, and maybe it would then, but honestly its not really the best camera to be putting on there anyway. That being said as far as using it for visual, or with my ZWO 585mc it is perfect! It will hold the 585 and 2" barlow along with my 2" eyepieces with ease. The fine focus adjustment makes it easy to make delicate final adjustments.
Thanks for the video. Very informative and easy to follow. I've subscribed and look forward to more.
Hey thanks so much! I will be doing one about eyepieces soon.

Thanks.
