    3 Unbelievable truth about China:
    1 Ethnic minority in China can have multiple children while the han nation had one child policy(now two children policy).
    2 Ethnic minorities can have 5 to15 additional points to their university entrance exam while han nation doesn't have. It means with the same exam note, Ethnic minority can go to a better university(you should hear about the competition of Chinese Gaokao).
    3 Even Muslim account for only 0.8% of chinese population, EVERY university over China is MANDATORY to have a Muslim restaurant offering non porc, halal meals.

    I’m Chinese. I just saw on the comment section that many people were surprised by the mosque by the streets of the city. We were taught to respect different cultures and religious beliefs. For instants, do not eat pork in front of Muslims. There are many Muslim restaurants in the big cities like Guangzhou. Muslim people can wear what they want and walk in the street freely.

When I first came to Guangzhou, many colleagues and friends would tell me that if you go to lanzhou restaurant and Xinjiang restaurant, don't talk to them about pork, because they don't eat pork.     Tell you what: I have being living in New York City for 35 continuous years, I can tell you that Urumqi is cleaner, the average people are more well dressed and more beautiful than the average Newyorker!

    Urumqi is are beautiful city, been there a couple times the streets are so clean and tidy, when i was there in summer 2018, i could wear are mini skirts and superstar runners with no problem at night - 谢谢你的视频

    I was last there in 1987. This place bears no resemblance to what it looked like then. The only multi-storey buildings were some hotels, that were only 3 stories high anyway. There were loads of street vendors and virtually no shops. The scariest bit was the flight from Beijing and landing at Urumuqi airport in a Boeing 707.

    My Chinese friend is from Urumqi, she's Uyghur Muslim and so does her husband, now they're gonna have third baby, I visited there many times, I was there in 2019 but after pandemic China put so strict covid rules for travelling to China. what I saw and experienced there when I was visiting XInjiang are opposite of what we can get from traditional mainstream media here in Europe. don't know why the mainstream media went to that crazy to push simply not true narratives, simply disgusting if just for the China USA rivalry.

    Everyone should go to the Genocide Watch organisations website which lists current genocides around the world. Guess what China is NOT on list. However India has 2 genocide alerts in Kashmir and Assam State. Over seven million people in Assam State, mostly Muslims of Bengali descent, may lose their Indian citizenship and risk imprisonment in special “foreigner detention centers.” But do we hear any of this news in western media?

    Looks like any other city in China. The people appear relaxed, all the cars are relatively new, smiling faces, no real rush to get off the streets, certainly not what I’d associate with a western claimed oppressed people,

      @@bigbill327 surveillance cameras is not unique to china. look at democratic asian countries like singapore, they are everywhere. that is why asia is safer than the west. Whether you agree or disagree is irrelevant, eastern cultures value safety at the expense of certain personal freedoms.
      I've never heard of china locking up homeless people and especially killing them in prison lol. its not some dystopian universe where laws and rules dont apply. You should visit china to see for yourself.

    Aaaaand once again (several times just today) I see a video about a city in China I've hardly heard of, look at the Wikipedia article and am astounded by the size of the place. I'm from Miami, FL, this is bigger than Miami-Dade country, and over half the size of the whole Miami metropolitan sweaty hell hole area. Dang! I'm a little confused here because I watch so many food/travel videos I expect to see some noodles or someone baking bread or something in the first minute of the video. Well. Looks like a Major Metropolitan Area, doesn't it?

      the han and Manchu built urumchi, the Area was taken from the dzunger oirat people who have absolutely nothing in common with uighurs. Every Uighur in urumchi came as a migrant into what was a han/hui/manchu city.

    I want to make it VERY clear that Urumqi is a CHINESE/HAN city and NOT a uyghur city.
    Urumqi was basically founded by the Chinese/Han in mid-1700s and thus TODAY the population of Urumqi IS 75% Chinese/Han and 10% Chinese/Hui and less than 13% uyghur.
    Though the Han/Hui and uyghurs are both "migrants" to Urumqi (uyghurs are NOT native to the Dzungar Basin WHERE URUMQI IS LOCATED), URUMQI WAS FOUNDED AND CREATED BY THE CHINESE/HAN.
    *LIKE I SAID: Urumqi IS A CHINESE/HAN CITY.*
