I understand to put anti freeze in the skimmer lines but returns too also what do you use for blowing air thru lines dry vac ?? looks like you need to have a hose in the skimmer to get water out or turn filter on this would drain skimmer line?
Rare to see another woman like myself in these pool maintenance comments. Happy to share tips and knowledge if you're ever in need. I've been taking care of inground pools since my teens open to close. Cheers!
This video displays a relatively common practice. Problem with the video is that we cannot here most of what is said. Watch this video and a few others and you will get the idea. If it was rocket science, a doofus like Sam Rostien wouldn't be claiming he knows what to do.
Please use this method to winterize your pool! Then call a professional next spring to "try" to find your broken pipe, lol! Videos like this are great job security for the industry. If you want to save some money, most REAL pool companies will "clear" your lines & equipment for under $200.00. - no cover, chemicals, etc. Just clear equip & lines and basic anti-freeze. Have NEW winter plugs on hand if you don't want to BUY from pool co. I've witnessed the "aftermath" of homeowners doing this so many times. One that stands out the most was a guy the literally exploded his pump into small fragments that went as far as 150' away. He had a valve closed to "help" purge a line. Guy was lucky he didn't get killed or loose his eyes from the pump shrapnel. Opening your pool? No big deal. Closing? A big deal if you screw it up.
What about the main drain?

So, was that a sand filter and do you blow the lines with a sand filter the same as a di-earth filter?
Yeah, what about the main drain ??
Shouldn't the water level be below the jets?
That makes the most sense, they already lowered the water level anyway.
Agreed ed the audios is ...um... in need of help. However, the work flow is clear and that's what matters. But... how much pressure???
between 30 - 40 PSI...35 PSI ideal
What if you blow air from skimmer side
Why cannot you just only charge you tank to a low PSI and let the compressor just keep it there? ?
