man, im a 19 year old girl and went into a tattoo shop w a friend last night to support her getting a tattoo and nicely asked the workers what kind of ink they used and IMMEDIETLY got verbally assaulted because they assumed i was running an illegal tattooing shop. they were so pissed because they had to go through years of "studying" how to give tattoos. never been more disrespected in my life. man, i wish all ppl were like you. love the way you encourage people to explore their passions and not shed hate on anyone interested in this art form. true genius
That shop was full of posers. I'm not a artist but for crying out loud they should be happy to educate people. If i were there to get work done and they treated me like that i would have walked out. Everyone needs to start somewhere and I have many friends who tattoo unlicensed who are good tattoo artists and know the practice well. I don't think it's even illegal unless the intent is to create a buisness of it. Doing some friends requests i don't think would condone intent honestly but then again I don't know the wording of the actual laws on tattoos.
MadMetalManiac74 most artists are dicks about that because regardless of how “good” the art works most taught at home artists only learned to tattoo and didn’t learn anything about cross contamination.

When I was locked up in San Anto we burned a domino inside the locker and scraped the soot off the sides. Then we would mix it with water. My tattoos are still dark ten years later.

I did some research: The red cards have black ink inside them too--- and it's there to prevent other players from being able to see through your cards and to potentially see what you are holding. I truly had no idea! Thank you so much, Joe. Your content is amazing!

I am actually suprise i didnt know that wasted all my time burning coconut oil just to get ink if i would of knew that there ink in them cards i would of saved a tons of time in order to get all the ink now that i know i can spread them word to my lifer folk behind all this trick that what i used to do to hustle make ink and slinging 3 year behind and never knew all that spent probally almost 300 hours just burning coconut oil to get ink when this card ink can get in 15 minute your a genius joe your my number one on my subscriber and im looking forward to all the new videos you come out with you got yourself a big fan

So you can use card ink, but not pen ink? ....theory, can you grab a magazine and soak it for colors?
I used ball pen ink and it held up 6-7 years in, lets hope no cancer though.

I had/have a tattoo of a Viking on my right leg that was done with a jail gun (Walkman motor, bic pen barrel, scrap metal bent into an 'L' and guitar string for the needle). It was the wrong kind of ink though (regular ball point pen ink from Bic...the clear kind of pen) and my awesome tat got infected like a mofo and the ink seeped out with the pus.
It was definitely the ink. The guitar string was new, watched dude clip it off and sharpen it.
Good news is the light scarring was enough for Kenny Schofield from Fat Georges tattoo shop in La Puente to see it and tac over it using the scar as a template. Looks good.
I've used pen ink. It never stayed in. It just went away a couple days later. Plus it is toxic.. it's rare but it is.. but yeah pen ink usually does work unless you go deep lmao

I’ve tried this on my finger a few months ago, I didn’t get any sort of infection, it healed fast but it did fade fast, although it could be caused by the brand or the fact that hand tats tend to fade and I might’ve soaked the cards for too long (the ink was a bit watery). The ink faded within a couple months, but there is still a very faint scar. It’s been six months I think since I did it, it was a stick and poke
when i was locked up we had to shave pencil lead on the side of our mirror and mix it with shampoo, and use staples we sharpened on the sink. we had no resources. but it worked. love the videos dude.

I don't understand why people do that... just go to the art store and get calligraphy ink it's a lot cleaner and doesn't fade nearly as much
