For me the difference between real seats and reps is quality control. Sure, a rep might be just as good as what it's repping 8 times out of 10. But in my opinion, the real thing is more likely to be reliably high quality 10 times out of 10. For something like seats which are a big component of the internal safety of the car, that quality control is important to me. To each their own of course, I have nothing against reps. I just don't want to pretend that there isn't *any* difference between them, other than the price.
That is definitely a huge part of it but far from the only difference especially with seats. With say a shift knob , a strut brace, a dashboard cover, maybe even a seat cover this is true for the most part but with a seat? Workmanship , countless hours and years of R&D, materials chosen, quality of components, attention to detail , method of assembly, stringent testing to pass safety standards then last but not least you have quality control, inspections making sure stitching being perfect, logos perfectly centered , packaging etc etc etc. I’ve seen real ones with years of abuse and still structurally sound, really good looking fake ones fading , discoloring , material separating etc after months. Not to mention the feel. You could close your eyes, Touch and sit in a real one and a a fake one, even a visibly good fake one and be able to know which is which In short order. As far as safety? we’d have to see them in a test to see the difference but I’d be willing to put my life savings on it that not only that it won’t be close but the real one will “lap” the fake one in safety and crash testing. Much more than just quality control. One who never ever seen a Bride seat in person may possibly not know if handled a fake one but if encountered a real Bride (even without handling a fake one) would even know that there’s no way it’s fake. This is why the real one costs at least 2 to 5x more.
I just got the exact same ones for my s13 hatchback from MidnightJPN, probably gonna put them in this weekend. Been watching all the Bride UA-cam videos I could. lol
i really like knock off and fake shit so fake bride seats is just funny. imagine pulling out the rear seats and making rear passenegers sit in fake brides lol
Always thought they were real regardless. If I remember correctly, it was a brother owned company, but they split up. So ones are Taiwan made and others are Japan.
Some of these comments are super aggressive, whether you have fake or real seats the safety argument is pointless because every seat is made differently so if you get a real seat that was badly made its just as safe/unsafe as a fake seat that was made really well. So even tho some people are blaming the seats they had for their injuries, some people were saved by the same seat. It’s all preference at the end of the day. Love your videos btw! 💜
Sorry to hear that. My friend was driving a Miata when he was hit by a drunk driver. Car was completely mangled and his fake bride seat saved his life. These seats are essentially made of the same materials as real ones. I don’t believe it’s a matter of structural quality. But I could be wrong, who knows.
Actually, they do make real Brides in blue, and they make them in a couple different models of Brides. Bride Zeta 3 came in blue and some of the reclinable seats came in blue as well.
@@VanessaStiles33 hmm must be older ones. I know as of now and the past 2 years or so they have not. :) just please be safe. It's not worth the savings if you die
I seriously want your old bride seat. Need it for my crx build. Great job on your videos.

Love the new seats. Also it’s cool to see a youtuber with a CLEAN (vacuumed) interior!
is that made in thailand seat maam?

Sound like a small Japanese man too 11:15
Any clue if my sparco brackets would fit this seat?
They should fit as long as they are meant for side mount seats.
@@VanessaStiles33 nice! Looking to get a set for my skyline lol
It’s just a z? Ppfff heart breaking! Me and my z are leaving
🤣🤣🤣

i'm starting to look for seats for my racing simulator. these could work really nicely for it. Great video!
Your car looks sooo good with your new seats!!!
Can you link to where you got these? I am looking at getting red ones. That blue really pops with your setup. Nice job!
Should just be able to type in “bride seats” on eBay and they’ll pop up!
Always thought they were real regardless. If I remember correctly, it was a brother owned company, but they split up. So ones are Taiwan made and others are Japan.

11:14 little Japanese man? You wanna see how little im? Lol
New to Texas. New to SA. New to your chanel. Keep up the good work!
how tall are you for size refrance?
5’5”
i think the main thing with these vs brides is the safety of them. im not saying buy like full race spec, but ebay brands can be kinda shady no?
Have you guys ever seen a crash tested real Bride seat? They fold like a lawn chair in a crash lol, they're all horrendously unsafe
The reclinables maybe, but the fixed backs are fine
Get your info straight because it was a reclinable seat in the demonstration video, not an frp bucket.
R Holt no shit lol that’s what I’m talking about. I own that very seat (Brix)
All reclining seats will collapse after a certain amount of force, you wouldnt want it to stay upright if your roof caved in
That wheel is daaaaank!
Thank you!! They’re available on the Dnd performance website!
Haha I’ve noticed my doors don’t stay open and I’ve seen that to be a familiar thing in Z’s. But why tho? Why!?!?
ua-cam.com/video/7-6xqwlYPUg/v-deo.html I used rolled up shrink wrap instead. My doors now stay open.
Right
Shit I spent 10k on rims for my 03 Honda accord that I bought for 5k
REAL SEATS ARE A SAFETY THING MORE THAN ANYTHING FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!! DAD BROKE HIS BACK IN FAKE BRIDE

if you get a solid seat then its all the same
Why not just refoam and recover your real ones? Would have been cheaper honestly.... Nvm the safety factor
I want real but I can’t afford it
Sick video! I got sent here from looking up rep Recaros for a RSX Type R because they’re also $2k+.
It fits a human. Lol 😂
Take pride in the build. Buy real brides. You can always put them in a different car when you upgrade to your non “cookie cutter car”
I have 4 cars so this car doesn’t need real brides haha
Give us all the money to spend a grand plus for one seat and sure no problem.
@@jamfd3s788 "a grand plus" for authentic brides. Um..sure pal
@@puppetmasterblaster um yea "pal" thats how much it is lmao
Seat looks good like the owner 😉 do you live in Cali love to meet you one day lol
they looked the same
Not A big deal with seat…just ok if feel comfortable…but i like u more than the seat🤣
Why not support the real company vs the fakes?
I have already had real seats and I have too many cars to be buying real seats for all of them
Sad to see the support for chinese knockoffs, but at least it sounds like you've set your expectations accordingly.
hello do you want to get married soon thank you.
brid
Also dead give away its fake cause real bride doesn't come in blue.

Fakes/reps have there place in the automotive industry but being cheap in the safety department is a big no no IMO.
Cheap knock offs are not safety rated or tested whatsoever. Had a buddy get them and they snapped in half in a 40mph crash.....not worth it.
Sorry that happened. But my friend was in a major accident and his rep seat (same as mine) held up fantastic and quite possibly saved his life.
Yeah thats the problem you never know if you got a good one or not. No checks and no way to tell visually
@@athleysis I’m not worried about it. It’s a drift car and it sits in storage most of the year.
Ha not worried about safety. Ok then
Can I have it
You're pronouncing bride wrong but most people do, so it's forgivable.
it's actually pronounced as /Breed/
Brid not bride. Learn the history of the name.
Lol
$100 says they don't answer the phone "brid"
