This appears to be a VERY high quality knife, and designed by someone who understands the value of actually carrying your EDC. What good is an EDC fix blade knife if you don't carry it. 52100 is a great steel for an EDC and/or survival knife. The only compromise is corrosion resistance. I recommend oiling your blade. Also, what a unique way of showing your appreciation to Jason for recording his skillsets and editing them for your edification. I don't know Jason, but I feel like I do from watching all his videos on ON Three and Survival Dispatch. I need a week to embezzle a few coins from my CFO (wife) and then I plan to procure mine with the Green Canvas Micarta handles.

So I had one of these show up at my house the other day. It's very well made for the price point. Perfect size to EDC for folks that use their knives. I didn't like the way it felt in my hand...then I used it. The handle design is simple on purpose, and there's no hotspots. It works very well and I believe it will be a permanent fixture on my belt. Blade steel seems to be right on. I will be getting one each for my kids and wife. You all should too, you won't be disappointed.

I was lucky enough to put my hands on his tool. I have large hands and even this "little necker" feels great in the hand. Had no problem with putting all four fingers on the handle. Encreabley sharp and light. I can't wait until this gets back into the shop so I can pick one up for myself. Beautiful job on this blade Jason.

Hands down my favorite under 3" high carbon knife. Your design Bear Forest On 3 fits my pocket/neck edc knife. My young life knife is living hard life.

I usually "like" your videos before I hit play so I don't forget (sometimes I still forget). After actually watching this one I'm going to try saving more pennies so I can afford one of these knives. I'm already trying to save up for some of the pants you and Alan showed in another video. They look very functional for hunting etc. I usually use the two hand method to field dress now ("V" with fingers of one hand, knife tip between with the other). I like the idea of being able to use the index finger to guide/guard the knife tip with one hand, so I can maybe help take some of the stress off my back.

I got one of these, and i like it. But then i bought a "custom camp knife" from bear forest knives. I used it to trim a little maple sapling and then carbe a try stick out of said sapling. Never coming in contact with dirt or rocks. Well i noticed not long into the task that there weere several nicks and dings in the balde. I emailed BF (bear forest) and asked for some resolution since it was a $250 dollar knife. To which he replied, "It appears i got too high with the grind, just sharpen it it will buff out". Im not new to the knife game so im well aware that would only temporarily fix the issue. When i voiced that i was met with "well if you dont want to sharpen it ill do it for you" and that was the only resolution i was given. So i bit my tounge and sharpened the knife anyways. It sat on a shelf for a few months, then i dug it out to once again trim a sapling, this time for a walking stick. And wouldnt you know, the edge was trashed again! This time, i only used it to trim little limbs and knots off the stick to clean it up as i cut the sapling down with a saw..... BF has got his last dollar from me. Had he offered to replace the knife or take a return id be more inclined to try again. But since it was a "custom knife" then returns arent accepted. Well its not acceptable to spend 250 on a knife thats "made to be used" only for it to be used as a paperweight. The knife in question is now decorating the bottom of a dumpster somewhere. Stick with esee or something else.
I 100% agree with you! Not cool! I don’t have anything to do with his personal knives but I will contact him to see if I can help you out. I have sent him a ton of business with very little in return. I am hoping that he will make things right for you.
I am all about quality and customer service. I understand your frustrations. When you spend that much on a piece of gear then you expect it to last. I bought a couple pair of Fall Raven pants which were nearly $200 a piece. They ripped after wearing them only a couple of times. They sent me a piece of cloth and told me to patch them. That was the last time that I bought anything from them.

@ONThree David Richardson, we've been in communication on Instagram the last few days. Pretty much, since I no longer am in possession of the faulty knife I'm up shit creek. He even went as far as to insinuate I was making it up since he "extremely punishes his knives during testing" such as "using a sledgehammer to drive it throw a oak block" and 90 degree bends and all that.

Just got mine in today. I took of e lanyard and installed a soft loop and have been running it apendix on my left side behind my belt. I’m probably going to stop carrying a folder and just carry this. Despite the blade being small, it cut up a standard orange easier than a knife with double the blade size.

Looks handy, as a knife maker I would change a couple of things though (you don’t have to-we are all different), I would change the pins to tubes, this means you could lash it to something, not for a spear but to cut things out of reach, I would add a very slight and small sharpening notch, otherwise people may start grinding away the micarta of the handle when they sharpen.
I would add liner’s, just because they look good.
At the end I would shorten the micarta, but not the steel by a few millimeters, I know you use fractions but i don’t, this way if you had to smack the blade into something you can use the exposed tang and are less likely to damage the micarta slabs.
Finally I would add a slight finger notch, and would also slightly reduce the height of the blade, hence emphasising the finger notch but not making it too big, as you say the lanyard could be tinder, then you might slip and cut yourself.
Anyway talk is cheap, enjoy your new toy.

Instead of sandpaper to clean blade, try a few drops of water and some aluminum foil roughed up

Hope this reaches you... im wanting to buy that knife ..been years looking for one like that. But that's different then the one online right? I don't want a thinner blade or handle or width or really anything. So I was told to contact u and maybe see if u can sell me your prototype.. or at least tell me the difference with production. This looks like the simple 2 and the current edc had a fat baby together. Please help or contact directly
There is a new batch of On3 EDCs ready to go. It is very similar to the one shown in this video. Very few changes. 52100 steel 1/8 inch thick blade full flat with a convex edge that is 2.75 inches long. The handle will be 3.75 inches long and 5/8 at its thickest point. They are hand made so you can expect small variations. Hope this helps and I hope you get what you are looking for.
