Shadows update in real time now. So no more shadows ticking across the ground like a seconds hand on a clock. Audio bugs with doors are gone. So many textures updated, fixed, improved. Really good update from what I've played so far. Also, I find the games run much better than they did before the update as well.
I personally don't put 100% of the blame on GSG. They're a small company who took on the task of remastering 3 games on several platforms in such a small timescale. Rockstar and Take Two should had known better that this was not remotely achievable without serious shortcuts being taken. Thats on them. Glad to see the games getting support still all the same. A lot of work left to do.

There’s still an eye sore of issues outstanding that I can’t stand. At GTA 3 there are still dark non shiny objects that reflect no light and it’s annoying when trying to walk up the stairs at red light district when doing the mission to assassinate salvatore. There are still leaves levitating in the air and some alignment issues. GTA 3 still looks too dark even at classic lighting mode. I have a decent monitor with a high contrast that can handle colours well. Rockstar still needs to do more to make the game look and feel playable. At night when the headlamp from the car does not shine at objects the objects omit zero light 💡 which is annoying because you can’t tell what the object is. UE4 had ruined the game as it was originally designed to look pleasing at night and not too realistic. There is NO ambient occlusion of lights bouncing properly of dark objects to give that authentic cartoon feel at night time. I don’t mind the cartoon look as it’s meant to be the classic trilogy however at least make the lighting pleasing to the eye.
Some of those things already happened on the original, i remember playing gta sa on the ps2 and sometimes things like that happened like getting stuck bc of the movement, etc... But if it's really a game problem like an invisible texture they'll end up fixing it now that rockstar is working on the trilogy, you can also report the bugs to rockstar so there's more chance they focus on them 👍

So I replayed gta San Andreas the definitive edition today and the graphic looks stunning like the sunrise look so good with the reflections but my only issue is the render distance all buildings seem ugly from a far and there’s a lot of pop ins when driving.
I'm glad i bought it one time it had a huge discount (like -80%) at the moment it almost seemed like a scam even paying for those unfinished games (i still played them for like a week) but now they finally turned them into the actual definitive version!!! i'm gonna start a new game in san andreas, it looks way nicer than it first looked.

The game's look how they should now, but honestly they still don't control or play the way they're supposed to. The Lock-on system is delayed, has a cooldown when switching targets, and isn't instant when you do. -- In the original, it was instant, no cooldown, and always locked onto the target CJ was being pushed to, not the one that was closest to the center of the Camera. It plays bad.
This is great but it’s still the bare minimum. Now R* should utilize the potential of Unreal Engine. Add things like ragdoll physics and better damage models, give us new content both big and small such as new cars and activities, make these TRULY definitive. Right now these games are at upscaled level. It’s fine but come on man

I would actually love an option to turn off the added lighting, shadow, texture and reflection effects. So these games look and feel like the originals but are super crisp and clean.
And ability to jump out of moving vehicles, and when inside safe houses you actually go inside and see the interior similar to LCS. And maybe even see the better handling cheat actually be a gameplay mechanic from SA as players driver longer and get better driving skills.
The original DEs looked like cartoon especially III and VC but now with the new lighting they look so much better. Especially VC. Have GTA3 have some gameplay features from VC, LCS, and VCS such as jump out of moving vehicles, crouch while also walking, when saving the game, actually go inside and see the interiors similar to LCS, more weapons from LCS and VC if possible. Add the ability to point guns at drivers and they can get out similar to GTA4 and GTA5. Make each game have gameplay features from cheats like if there is a car that can drive in water, it is hidden. And the drive-by cheat that was in San Andreas where you can aim anywhere like how the HD era is, make it an actual gameplay feature in all three games or even as an option. The better handling cheat can be an actual gameplay feature in VC and GTA3 similar to SA, pedestrians following Tommy cheat can be an actual gameplay mechanic when recruiting your gang members. And bring in mission select/replay, and camera switch sounds since VC still retained them. And add blood on/off toggle feature.

I think the games look great now but still not as good of an experience as the originals except for that new run and gun feature in GTA 3 and Vice City I’ve honestly found that extremely fun so far and I question why I never thought of downloading a mod for that in the OGs
If they added more traffic in certain streets, players could use a bazooka and cause more explosions all at once. And more pedestrians on streets depending on the day and time (which I think GTA3 needs more pedestrians), could be used when using the flame thrower.
I just hope rockstar learned their lesson to never let amateur studios handle their most important and significant games because if they got the right people from the start instead of settling on some literal who cheap amateurs we wouldn't be in this situation today and perhaps the definitive edition would've sold like hotcakes day one.
Tbh I never criticised the game for glitches I played and enjoyed the games and its new graphics…. I would have loves if they would have uses the RAGE Engine for the games and the GTA 5 physics or just could have imported the story and characters and replaced it with GTA 5’s story and characters

All those improvements were done by Video Games Deluxe, the devs behind the mobile ports. It's unconfirmed but it's most likely yet again Video Games Deluxe who's patching the consoles and PC versions. Just another third party and not Rockstar.

Uninstall gta 3 and download it again from your library, i did it on the 3 games just to make sure it was installed properly.
