I DID IT!! For those having trouble: if you have long shoelaces, try to grab the shoelaces closer to the shoe (so the ends will end up being longer) and also, when you do the crossover, your hands will end up swapping the shoelaces. JUST SWAP THEM AND YOU'LL DO IT!! I BELIEVE IN YOU
Good advice, I'm wishing I'd said something like that in the video! Congratulations too on learning the Ian Knot and for helping others to learn it too.
***** Thanks for the compliment! I'm amazed that other videos have so many more views than mine. It's also diappointing when they don't even give credit, nor even mention the name "Ian Knot".
I watched this video for the first time in 2015, when it was only a year old. Don't know what got into me, but as I was tightening up my shorts, I suddenly wondered how this video and channel is doing right now. It took me a while to find this again because I couldn't remember the exact video title nor the channel. A simple youtube search wasn't doing it for me since not a single one of those was the video I remember. So I did a little digging on google trying to find this, and now here I am, 7 years later. Happy that this channel is here and still somewhat active. Never got to say thank you, so I'm saying it now. Thank you for this video. Ever since I've watched this video, I've been tying my shoes the same way. Even years later, that "left over right" or "right over left" was always in my head whenever I'm tying.
Thanks for relating your detailed story - I love it! Firstly that you were shown this knot while still so young. Secondly that the “left-over-right” and “right-over-left” were correctly instilled into you. Thirdly that you persisted while searching through the hundreds of shoe tying videos that now crowd out my own in order to rediscover my channel. Amazing! Admittedly I haven't been too active here lately while I've been slowly bringing my website into the 21st century. But that's about to change shortly - I'm getting set to release my new super-secret knot (fast tying *and* fast untying!)
68 years old and never realised that I was tying my shoelaces incorrectly! Looking forward to tomorrow and seeing if I can walk to the shops without stopping to tie my laces.

Firstly, congratulations on learning the "Ian Knot". I'm pleased that you pursued a solution despite the setback of the first video that you tried. Awesome that you then learned it so quickly from my own video! Secondly, it's wonderful to hear that the Ian Knot has proven itself over a couple of years of usage. I'm sure that you've gotten fairly proficient at it over that time. Finally, thanks for your kind words and feedback, and enjoy using the Ian Knot.

You're not dumb guys... took me a few tries to get it but once I did it's so simple. It's the crossing of the long part of the lace, not the loop, that catches you out. Thanks Professor!
Amanda Haisman Yeah, it's tricky until you realise exactly which bits to cross over and pull through. Great that you persisted, Amanda, and congrats on your success.
Thank you so much!!!! This tutorial was great, I learned it in under 5 minutes. It's super simple, plus I can impress all my friends with my mad shoe tying skillz!

It's a pretty common metaphor for life in general: When you change the way you do something - even if it's a change for the better - it will feel unnatural for a while. Hopefully you'll continue to practice and continue to improve until this way feels natural.
***** Velcro shoes deprive me of the opportunity to use my Ian Knot, so naturally I'm not a fan. However, they're useful for kids, the elderly and infirm.
@@ProfShoelace Thanks for still replying to comments that are on a video that is 5 years old. Thanks for showing me how to do this, I'm an 18-year-old and my knot sucked, great work sir.
You're welcome, Sckitz - and congratulations on learning the Ian Knot. You went from a shoelace knot that sucks to one that rocks - that's *two* steps forwards!
I finally learnt this technique yesterday. It's so addicting. I keep tying and untying my shoe repeatedly because it's just so satisfying to watch. It's like magic😂😂😂. Thank you professor. I have got a new hobby thanks to you😂😂😂
I loved hearing of your delight with this technique because I feel the same. For me - and seemingly for you also - the chore of shoe-tying has been transformed into something fun! Congratulations on learning it.
SomsKid 21 click the three dots if you're using UA-cam on your phone, or the gear icon on a computer and then clicks speed, and you can choose to 5 or quarter speed for slow motion.
okay make sure you are exchanging the two loose ends through the loops. the curved ends are formed where you hold the exchanged part of the lace. Ignore the 2nd point if it doesn't help.
Finally got it after two hours of trying. This has been a major help. I suffer from CP which affected the strength and the dexterity in my fingers and hands which makes the traditional way much more difficult with so many steps. After 27 years and formerly wearing leg braces, I can finally tie my own shoes. It also helps that it is only one step essentially, since the starter knot is necessary no matter how you tie. I wish I knew of this technique 20 years ago. when I was a boy.. Thank you Ian. :)
Wonderful to hear that your two hours were well spent and that you learned the "Ian Knot" - congratulations! Your success will be an inspiration to others who, for one reason or another, lack the strength and/or dexterity to master the regular shoelace tying method. I'm confident that your next 20 years will be somewhat less troubled by shoelaces than your first 20.
Holy guacamole! I learned it in less than 2 minutes! But I'm still kinda slow so I'll work on my speed. Thanks! By the way, I just got a Vans Sk8-Hi, do you think a Bar Lace would look good on it?
RadicalRoyals Two minutes to learn the Ian Knot is pretty good - you'll save that back in no time. Your speed will also improve with practice. As for the Vans, Bar Lacing is very popular on those, so definitely go for it.
+Hoang Anh Nguyen Good idea to start learning the Ian Knot using longer shoelaces. Once you get the hang of it, you should be able to tie quite short shoelaces as well.
+ProfessorShoelace this is so frustratingi cant seem to get it right at all i really dont see how to cross and pull i give up i really thought it was cool but i cant do anythingaboutit
This video was much easier to follow visually, with the camera angle this way then the other video of yours I tried many many times without luck! I found it easier to think of swapping grips of the trailing lace, versus trying to shove the Loops through each other.
Thanks, Mark. I've learned a lot since my early UA-cam videos - mostly through helpful feedback from viewers like yourself. It's useful for me to hear what works and what doesn't. Great that you learned the Ian Knot - congratulations!
Practiced it for an hour and finally got the hang of it. It was initially tricky with the left hand and now I can do it with my eyes closed... yippee! Practice makes perfect :)
+rashvind I'm glad that you persisted and that it finally worked for you. Once you get the hang of the left hand doing a different twist to the right hand, it comes together pretty easily. Congratulations!

Got the hang of it in just a couple of minutes. Usually with shoe tie videos, it takes me about an hour to try, and when it won´t work I just forget about it. This took me so little time, meaning you give great lessons with a great method. Huge thanks!
Wow after 53 years, I have found this video very helpful - a better way to tie shoes, will be showing my younger two sons, really easy just need to watch each step and practice .
Good advice - "watch each step and practice." I'm pleased that you learned the "Ian Knot" - congratulations! You'll hopefully enjoy tying your shoelaces a little more for the next 53 years, while your sons will benefit from it for even more years.
***** You might be falling into the trap where you're creating *both* loops towards the front, or both towards the back, as I mention at 01:46. Have you tried my website?
Congratulations on learning the Ian Knot. As you discovered, besides being faster and easier, it is also much more fun! (PS: Sorry about my late reply; I was on holidays and couldn't get my mobile device to behave.)
You're welcome, I'm pleased that the lesson helped you to learn the “Ian Knot”. Congratulations! Hopefully it will find its way comfortably into your daily routine. Enjoy the knot!
I've taught my little cousins this knot whilst they were still trying to learn how; they started betting the other kids that they could tie their shoes faster than the others. They always won..! Good thing none of the other kids had practice with your knot!
Great to hear that you firstly learned the knot yourself - and then passed on the technique to your younger cousins. What fun for them to be able to easily outperform their schoolfriends! Congratulations!!
OMGoodness!! This was SUPER easy!! It took me less than a minute to master it. I'm going to use this bow technique to teach my rubber stampers in stamp club! They have lots of trouble making bows for their cards and this should do the trick for them! Awesome tutorial, thank you SO much! This is the best tutorial, everything is crystal clear!
Fifi McGee Less than one minute - WOW! Congratulations on your almost instant success, Fifi. Great that you'll also be passing on the skill to your fellow club members. Tying bows on cards super-quick will make it fun instead of a chore. And thank you in return for your positive feedback about the video.
Second attempt - that's terrific - congratulations! And believe me, the excitement doesn't go away. I've been using this method for about 35 years and I still get a kick out of it!
I was looking for your secure loop and stumbled on this one as well. The website's tutorial was enough for me to do it on the first try. The key was not underestimating the importance of left-over-right and where the loose ends should be. Still gonna go with the secure knot with my Salomon backpacking shoes: their laces are as tough as wires but slippery like graecoroman wrestlers!
You're quite right, paying attention to where the loose ends go is critical. Terrific that you got it straight away! Even better that you learned *both* of my favourite shoelace knots and now have them at your disposal for all situations. Congratulations!
You're welcome, Mark, and congratulations on learning the "Ian Knot" - the original and the best. I've also been looking at other videos recently - more than 300 of them - most of which do the more convoluted "lobster claws" thing.
I let out an audible gasp of amazement as i completed the first correct knot. I just couldnt help myself. If you're having difficulty making the actual knot part the only thing i can tell you is that both laces in your hands that are currently above your middle finger should X each other before you use your middle fingers to swap them.
Thank you! I just realised: let´s say this is 5 seconds faster then you normally Need.. that would mean you saved us 1 hour every 2 years (if you do 1 knot per day ^^) andyou get even better knots.
***** jeah its realy awesome :) oh, and ProfShoelace, forgo to ask, could you make a tutorial on how to make a fast double knot .. like a knot on the knot (sry for my english but i hope you know what i mean)
Falkus Devil I'm not fond of double knots because they make shoelaces difficult to untie. That said, you can create a "Double Ian Knot" by repeating the "Ian Knot" technique using the finished loops.
Sad to think of all that time wasted with granny-knotting. Hopefully you'll recoup some of that time thanks to the speed and security of the “Ian Knot”.
Thanks for the reply, pretty cool of you mate.Yes it results in a standard bow. We work on demolition site all day and says it really secure, he finds it funny that I double knot mine. Looked like a magic trick the first time I saw him do it.
Big Daddy D If so, I'm a God who aims to please, and in turn is easy to please. If you managed to learn the Ian Knot, then I'm really happy - congratulations!
You may have just learned to tie, but in the process, you've jumped ahead of all the others who did so before you by learning the world's fastest shoelace knot. Congratulations!
I've been trying to learn this method of tying your shoes, but I haven't been successful until watching this video. Very detailed, what you showed at 2:10 helped alot!
Well done for continuing until your persistence paid off - congratulations! I'm also pleased to hear that my instructions on what *not* to do were beneficial. Enjoy the Ian Knot!
You're welcome - and congratulations on learning the Ian Knot. It's a shame that you probably won't get to enjoy it for the next 60 years and thus compensate for the previous 60.
You're welcome, Hugo. Cool that you found this technique simpler, which makes sense because the speed of this knot is due to the lack of complex movements.
You're welcome, I'm pleased that you learned so quickly from my video. Two days between hearing about the "Ian Knot" and mastering it - congratulations!
After learning the Ian knot, I've forgotten how to tie my shoes any other way. This is, without a doubt, the most useful knot an average person will learn.
I'm 17 and I only just learned to tie my shoelaces about a week ago; still been struggling big time with it, never felt satisfied, but this has made everything far easier for me, now I actually feel like I'm capable at tying shoelaces lol, thanks.
+26alexther Great that you've gone from an inferior "Granny Knot" to a superior "Ian Knot" - that's two big steps forward. Congratulations! Even better that you'll be teaching the Ian Knot to your kids, who will enjoy the benefits for many years more.
You're welcome, Cesar - and congratulations on learning the "Ian Knot". It's a good point that the Ian Knot is more than just *fast* - it also looks neat and symmetrical.
thanks professor this knot helped me a lot in my daily lifestyle and every time i make this knot i get faster and better at it tbh it is a bit hard to master it but im getting to get used to it
Man this is great, the starting knot thing aswell. It's like I'm doing ballet with my fingers! Clockwise, anticlockwise, pull tight. Super satisfying once you figure out how to do it.
It took me a while to understand it, but once I slowed down the vidoe a lot and the I saw the position of the left and right loose end, then it finally clicked! It's fun when learning stuff, it is sometimes a small detail, that solves the hurdle
Thank you so much. Both tutorials are brilliant but this one might just have the edge because of it's first person perspective. As the mother of a fourteen year old, left handed, rather neurotic (when it comes to shoelace shoes) boy I have been jumping for joy today. Finally! And not a moment too soon (it's really hard to find velcro shoes in his size now) - he can do it! The battles are over and the war (between confident/calm and hysteria) is won. At the end, hard to believe, he was demonstrating to his dad that he could tie his laces without even looking!
bat in the attic Wonderful story of your son's success with finally learning the "Ian Knot". Amazing to hear that he can already tie it without looking! Congratulations, and thanks for sharing your story.
Gianni Van den Bosch If your knot doesn't stay (tied?), you're probably tying it as a "Granny Knot". I mention this problem starting at 3:16 in the video. Reverse your Starting Knot and it will fix the problem.
It's so quick and firm. I love it.
Never expected to be sitting up at 1am to learn how to tie my shoelaces faster, but here I am.
5 minutes later and I've got it super fast, love it!!

Now when I'm 22, it's easier to understand and get better, but it's harder to get out of the old way of lacing.
Thank you. Professor.
It's a pretty common metaphor for life in general: When you change the way you do something - even if it's a change for the better - it will feel unnatural for a while. Hopefully you'll continue to practice and continue to improve until this way feels natural.
Professor Shoelace,
How do you feel about velcro shoes?
***** Velcro shoes deprive me of the opportunity to use my Ian Knot, so naturally I'm not a fan. However, they're useful for kids, the elderly and infirm.
@@ProfShoelace your ian not sucks
You're welcome to your opinion, although millions might disagree with you.
Omg so hard you should do two colors in super slow motion and different angles and if I don't get it iam stupid
I get it but I just have Neuropathy
.
.
***** Thank you Professor Shoelace :D
same!
Congratulations for also learning the "Ian Knot" so quickly.
thank you so much for this, im 16 and this is the first knot for my shoes i learned to do;)) more blessings to you sir.❤️❤️
You're lucky to have learnt this knot instead of one of the “older” techniques. Congratulations!
I finally realized why I kept failing: my shoe laces are too short.
+Hoang Anh Nguyen
Good idea to start learning the Ian Knot using longer shoelaces. Once you get the hang of it, you should be able to tie quite short shoelaces as well.
+Hoang Anh Nguyen i was going to make that comment hhh
+ProfessorShoelace this is so frustratingi cant seem to get it right at all i really dont see how to cross and pull i give up i really thought it was cool but i cant do anythingaboutit
Sorry you couldn't get it, Laila. Have you tried the animated instructions on my website?
make the loop(s) smaller!
it helped me
This video was much easier to follow visually, with the camera angle this way then the other video of yours I tried many many times without luck!
Does this work on red shoes?
Jed McMurray Sure - one shoe, two shoes, red shoe, blue shoe, ANY shoe! (with apologies to Dr Seuss)
No, but I'm quite sure it works on yellow, green, and blue shoes, and also not grey...
I've tried but its pretty laggy, i'd recommend a black shoe
Practiced it for an hour and finally got the hang of it. It was initially tricky with the left hand and now I can do it with my eyes closed... yippee! Practice makes perfect :)
+rashvind
I'm glad that you persisted and that it finally worked for you. Once you get the hang of the left hand doing a different twist to the right hand, it comes together pretty easily. Congratulations!
OMG I WATCH ALL THE VIDEO AND STILL DONT FREAKING GET IT
CreeperGamer000 Loose end facing you on the left, loose end facing away from you. Grab the loose ends and loop them through from each side. It's exceedingly simple if you do it in steps. Just practice. Hope you've learned, as it really speeds up the process of getting into your shoes.

Just rewatch it and read the comments till you get it...

Got the hang of it in just a couple of minutes. Usually with shoe tie videos, it takes me about an hour to try, and when it won´t work I just forget about it. This took me so little time, meaning you give great lessons with a great method. Huge thanks!
Vader Doge Only a couple of minutes? That's great, I love hearing that. Congratulations!
I used this for my naruto headband
+Dope Dawg
It's tricky tying behind the head where you can't watch what you're doing. It's like a Ninja skill. Congratulations!
Wow after 53 years, I have found this video very helpful - a better way to tie shoes, will be showing my younger two sons, really easy just need to watch each step and practice .
Good advice - "watch each step and practice." I'm pleased that you learned the "Ian Knot" - congratulations! You'll hopefully enjoy tying your shoelaces a little more for the next 53 years, while your sons will benefit from it for even more years.
when i put the loop through eachother it just doesnt work out
***** You might be falling into the trap where you're creating *both* loops towards the front, or both towards the back, as I mention at 01:46. Have you tried my website?
Astra same here
Omg thank you so much this actually works and it's a lot faster, funner, and Simpler then the other types of Knots. Keep up the good work!
Congratulations on learning the Ian Knot. As you discovered, besides being faster and easier, it is also much more fun!
(PS: Sorry about my late reply; I was on holidays and couldn't get my mobile device to behave.)
That's ok

Perfect the lesson, It's so useful for daily life. Thank you so much Mr.Ian.

Got it on the second attempt. Brilliant video. Never been more excited about tying my shoe laces.
Second attempt - that's terrific - congratulations! And believe me, the excitement doesn't go away. I've been using this method for about 35 years and I still get a kick out of it!
Thank you sir I’m 26 and for the first time I liked how my shoelaces look
You're welcome! Nice to know that the Ian Knot was not just faster but also ended up looking better. Congratulations on learning the knot.
I truly admire ur persistence!
Ppl always give up so easily.
Thanks for your kind words. Probably I *should* have given up on my website long ago. It's not easy “living on a shoestring”!
Best shoe lace knot ever. I’ve been using it since 2008.
Congratulations on learning the "Ian Knot" and for using it for the past decade. You must be pretty well practiced with it by now!
Changing the playback speed to .25 around 1:11-1:45 helped me to understand. Thanks!
Hey, whatever works for you. I'm pleased that you got it in the end. Congratulations!
Love the super neat look this knot produces. Thanks Ian!
As you discovered, the "Ian Knot" is not just fast but also neat looking due to the perfect symmetry. Glad you liked it!
Thanks Ian! I've been trying to learn this knot to teach my kids but all the other videos go too quickly. Now I've got it thanks to you 😀
You're welcome, Mark, and congratulations on learning the "Ian Knot" - the original and the best. I've also been looking at other videos recently - more than 300 of them - most of which do the more convoluted "lobster claws" thing.
Thanks for taking the time to make a more detailed second video. I finally got it.
ShadowLink678 Great, congratulations on learning the Ian Knot. I'm pleased that my second video finally made it click.
I WAS ABLE TO DO LEARN IT IN 3 MINUTES!!!! When i successfully did it i was so happy and surprised i shouted YES!
Three minutes - that's awesome! Congratulations, Thomas. I can just imagine your delighted outburst.
After about 5 tries, I actually get it, and I was delighted at myself 👍
Cool that you persisted, even after four failed attempts. It's really fun once it "clicks". Congratulations!
I let out an audible gasp of amazement as i completed the first correct knot. I just couldnt help myself.
If you're having difficulty making the actual knot part the only thing i can tell you is that both laces in your hands that are currently above your middle finger should X each other before you use your middle fingers to swap them.
I wish folks like you would film a "reaction video"! [smile]
Thanks also for your suggestion - that's really helpful.
Thank you! I just realised: let´s say this is 5 seconds faster then you normally Need.. that would mean you saved us 1 hour every 2 years (if you do 1 knot per day ^^) andyou get even better knots.
Falkus Devil The time savings from using the Ian Knot daily do add up, plus it makes tying your shoelaces fun instead of a daily chore.
You are doing a great service to mankind. Bravo.
Thanks, I'm happy to have been of help!
I was taught and have been tying granny knots my entire life!
Looked like a magic trick the first time I saw him do it.
.
You are a god amongst men ProfessorShoelace!
Big Daddy D If so, I'm a God who aims to please, and in turn is easy to please. If you managed to learn the Ian Knot, then I'm really happy - congratulations!
Thank you very much... This is really helpful to me, who just learned how to tie a shoelace in 19 yrs old
You may have just learned to tie, but in the process, you've jumped ahead of all the others who did so before you by learning the world's fastest shoelace knot.
Thanks Ian, Simple, quick and effective. What ore could anyone want. I wish I'd learned this 60 years ago :-)
You're welcome - and congratulations on learning the Ian Knot. It's a shame that you probably won't get to enjoy it for the next 60 years and thus compensate for the previous 60.
Thank you for the tutorial. Nobody ever taught me this. You are a good man
Thanks, I'm happy to be the one who taught you something new. Enjoy the “Ian Knot”!
Thanks man for this video. I couldn't tie my shoes until I watched this video. All the other methods were to complicated for me. lol
You're welcome, Hugo. Cool that you found this technique simpler, which makes sense because the speed of this knot is due to the lack of complex movements.
Learned in 5 minutes. Best knot ever
Nice work learning it so quickly - congratulations!
Thanks a lot for this!!! I heard of this knot day before yesterday and no video could teach me. Till this video and got it right away. Thanks again😀👍
Congratulations on learning the Ian Knot. As you noted, once you've learned it, the "old" way seems so backwards.
Oh dude! The applications go way beyond shoe laces. Thanks for sharing this knot.
Thanks for the upload. It was about time I learned a better way to tie my shoes.
You're welcome, and congratulations on learning a better way. Of course, I reckon the "Ian Knot" is the *best* way.
This man deserves more than this.
Thanks for thinking of me, Faraaz.
ProfessorShoelace Its hard to find people like you in the world.
Way better than the previous one. It’s incredible
Thanks, I'm glad you liked my incredibly fast knot.
I'm 17 and I only just learned to tie my shoelaces about a week ago; still been struggling big time with it, never felt satisfied, but this has made everything far easier for me, now I actually feel like I'm capable at tying shoelaces lol, thanks.
***** You've taken two steps forward: one - learning to tie shoelaces; two - learning to tie shoelaces faster. Congratulations!
wow this was so helpful... I have been doing the granny knot for years hehe..this will help my kids to tie their shoes faster and easy.. thanks
+26alexther
Great that you've gone from an inferior "Granny Knot" to a superior "Ian Knot" - that's two big steps forward. Congratulations! Even better that you'll be teaching the Ian Knot to your kids, who will enjoy the benefits for many years more.
Thank you brother , you made my day! Before I could not tie my knot nice, neat and evenly but now I can. Thank you.
You're welcome, Cesar - and congratulations on learning the "Ian Knot". It's a good point that the Ian Knot is more than just *fast* - it also looks neat and symmetrical.
thanks professor
this knot helped me a lot in my daily lifestyle
and every time i make this knot i get faster and better at it
tbh it is a bit hard to master it but im getting to get used to it
You're welcome, Ali. They say that "practice makes perfect". Luckily, it's kind of fun to practice the Ian Knot!
i cannot deny this fact
well said
Wow I'm 20 going 21 and finally just learned it thanks to you
Same age as I was when I invented the knot. Congratulations, Jason! Hopefully you'll enjoy the Ian Knot for the remainder of your lifetime.
Got this in 3 mins super easy. Very nice detailed instructions!
Three minutes - that's excellent, Alfred! I'm pleased to hear that you managed to learn it so quickly.
This is awesome. Using this from now on. So simple
I'm pleased that you found it simpler as well as faster. Congratulations on learning the “Ian Knot”!
thank you so much for this method I tried to normal way for hours but then I found this and I could do it much more easily
Great that you, too, found the Ian Knot easier to learn than the "normal" method. Congratulations!
OMG I DID IT I FEEL SO ACCOMPLISHED 😭😭😭😭
I can do it Kinda fast
It's cool when you finally "get it", and then fairly quickly begin to pick up speed. Congratulations!
Such a revelation ... thank you Ian for saving my life from 30 years of shoelace fails!
You're welcome, Laureen. Congratulations on shifting from shoelace fails to shoelace mastery!
Thanks Professor! Great Tutorial. You got yourself a new sub! 18, In College, Finally learned how to tie my shoe laces correctly.
magasoldier1 I'm pleased you got the Ian Knot - conratulations! Thanks for subbing too.
Man this is great, the starting knot thing aswell. It's like I'm doing ballet with my fingers! Clockwise, anticlockwise, pull tight. Super satisfying once you figure out how to do it.
I smiled at the "ballet" analogy - so true! Great to hear that you succeeded with the full technique. It's kind of fun, isn't it?
Thanks for the tutorial! It's a great knot! I added this to my favorites playlist.
You're welcome, Joe, and congratulations on learning the "Ian Knot".
It took me a while to understand it, but once I slowed down the vidoe a lot and the I saw the position of the left and right loose end, then it finally clicked!
It's fun when learning stuff, it is sometimes a small detail, that solves the hurdle
Great that you were able to slow it down enough to “get it”. Congratulations!
At first I started doing the standard shoelace knot and I wanted to tie my shoes faster so I found this video and now I can tie my shoes faster!
If you're already finding the "Ian Knot" to be faster, you've obviously really gotten the hang of it. Congratulations!
@@ProfShoelace Thank you.
Finally at the age of 24 I've learnt how to tie a shoe properly! You sir are a true legend!
Congratulations on learning the "Ian Knot"! At only 24, you have *decades* more in which to enjoy your new-found shoelace tying expertise.
I feel so stupid right now! I've been doing it wrong my whole life. THANK YOU, Professor Shoelace! This video is life-changing!
The Ian Knot does put the regular shoelace tying method to shame. Enjoy you "new life".
I have been using this trick for all my life and it does not stay for like 2 Hours but accept from that its great and easy.
Gianni Van den Bosch If your knot doesn't stay (tied?), you're probably tying it as a "Granny Knot". I mention this problem starting at 3:16 in the video. Reverse your Starting Knot and it will fix the problem.
i will try it tnx :)
