Well, couple of years ago X-Ray engine source files leaked into the Web, some modemakers picked it up and made major improvements. They called it X-Ray Monolith, it's X64 and stable (I've personally played about 50 hours withought crashes). Actually X-Ray 1.6, used in Call of Pripyat was already stable, I've passed it completely about 5 times and don't remember any crashes.

So my friend, played all of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games multiple times, actually got me into the games, constantly talked about these games whenever he could, learned Russian, and he shipped off to bootcamp a day before this trailer was released. Can’t wait to tell him when he’s done lol
If he was following all of the rumors and news regarding GSC - he probably saw it coming. I mean, the first official teaser was last year, in the form of website with countdown to 2021, and even before that we knew it was a matter of time after GSC was revived. More recently rumor had it that it could release sooner than 2021, and that was after quarantine set in. Probably won't happen, but we're still waiting for release date confirmation, so anything can happen yet.

I can't wait, i really can't. I played through the original SoC for around 30 times both vanilla and with mods and truly this is a big part of my youth, and really it is the best game i have ever played to this date and which i can always enjoy again and will NEVER EVER get boring. It's THE game that gives you THE chills of your life and nothing can come close to it in my opinion, i can say that i have been there and done that but the atmosphere that stalker creates is unbeaten and comes as close as it gets to the real experience. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is art and for me stands as a symbol for nature giving mankind the finger it deserves...

Most of the talent and skilled developers either went to the West or went to work for 4A games. So many people were skeptical. Seeing this trailer at an official showcase really gives me hope.

From the US, and STALKER is one of my favorite games of all time. I also like the film (1979's Stalker) and short story (Roadside Picnic) the game is loosely based on as well.

I would have never thought that us Stalker folk would ever get a sequel yet alone having a sequel for console too? Incredible, more people will get to appreciate the stalker universe than us few PC gamers that have constantly modded S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for the last 10 if not more years. @Josen No it was never really that complicated. The most complicated thing about STALKER control scheme was two-type crouching system. So I don't really think that there is much to dumb down if at all.
If you lost for that, the core gameplay of a STALKER, which is a hardcore tactical shooter, the franchise is definitly dead. How do you lean/peak on console ? I was hoping they take inspiration of the inventory managment of EFT, but from now i just hope they didn't remove the original gameplay... :(

It was so painful watching streamer’s reactions to this game. Close to NONE OF THEM have even heard of stalker. You’ll watch some fuckin zoomer lookin at it and he’ll go “is this metro? This feels like a metro game” like COME ON DUDE
Tbh i only knew that stalker existed was because of the trailer but it didn't look like a metro game to me. I want to play it

I grew up with the franchise. It brings back so many memories, stalker 2 is like a half-life 3 for me
I dunno about you guys, but fighting thru reactor complex 4 with the voice of the Wish Granter booming in my mind, promising me the entire world, was one of the most memorable moments in gaming I have ever experienced.....

actually only a month or so before this came out i just bought SOC and absolutely loved it even with its rough edges and after seeing this the hope i have for this game is immense

From the US, and STALKER is one of my favorite games of all time. I also like the film (1979's Stalker) and short story (Roadside Picnic) the game is loosely based on as well.

I would have never thought that us Stalker folk would ever get a sequel yet alone having a sequel for console too? Incredible, more people will get to appreciate the stalker universe than us few PC gamers that have constantly modded S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for the last 10 if not more years. This is the best thing I've seen in the video gaming world in a long time.
@Josen No it was never really that complicated. The most complicated thing about STALKER control scheme was two-type crouching system. So I don't really think that there is much to dumb down if at all.
Guess I’ll just have to continue anomaly to feed that craving.

If you lost for that, the core gameplay of a STALKER, which is a hardcore tactical shooter, the franchise is definitly dead. How do you lean/peak on console ? I was hoping they take inspiration of the inventory managment of EFT, but from now i just hope they didn't remove the original gameplay... :(

I would legit complain if this game is 100% polished and does not crash...It's STALKER... the entire Xray engine is an anomaly to begin with.. no one knows how it works.. no one will ever know how it works

Shadow of Chernobyl was the first game I played on the first PC I ever built. So many memories. I am really in the mood for a new stalker game.

To this day i remember my younger 14 yo self in 2007, scared shitless traversing the zone and all X labs, the moment i saw that corridor with emergency lights i had goosebumps. After countless hours across all 3 parts and tons of mods it's time for a proper sequel
