- Hello Sub2club
Meet Mike Wagner. He's a mad man with an obsession, but with a very clear goal.
e92 M3 in stock form weighs around 3600 lb. Mike is pushing the limits of reducing this weight. Unfortunately, we do not know the exact weight at the moment, since the weight loss program is on-going. However, I will make sure to follow up when the project is semi-finished and give you guys an update.
Mike is very humble, funny, sincere guy, and it was my pleasure to chat with you Mike! again, Thank you for having me!

Might just be me, but Mike sounds a lot like obsessed garage lmao
Hahaha definitely obsessed too..
i kinda thought i sounded like matt as well... kinda boring and monotone. lol
Your guest sense of humor was great. Really enjoyed it.
Great inspiration!
The titanium bolts isn't too crazy for racing. I had a friend who drag raced atv's and they would replace everything with titanium they could, even milling holes in the bolt head lol!
Awesome video man. Car is insane
Appreciate the kind words! Blessed to have Mike show the car!
2007 335i here, 2670 lbs gutted, carbon bumpers, hood, fenders, doors, roof, rear trunk section, the whole rear section of the car ncluding quarter panels minus the pillars are carbon. built engine, 8hp75 swapped, two kirkey race seats, carbon dash, setup for drag racing. no modules or stock wiring, maxxecu and simple setup. theres a company in europe who makes a full oem m3 carbon body panel kit including rear quarter panel and rear section of the car from the roof of rear windshield back. you cut the whole trunk section out and de-skin the rear section, you can cut literally 350 lbs of steel out of that area of the car when you reskin it looks 100% oem, my car looks like an oem e92 m3 (same color as yours) but with 28" radials and skinnies up front. the windshields and windows save a ton of weight too when u go lexan. bought a 335i cuz i didnt want to spend the money on an m3. doesnt matter what we buy we always end up modding them lol. that m3 looks expensive!
Love the last statement! Seems like there are quiet a bit of turbo 335s in drag scene. Must be a good formula that works! Thank you for the comment!
Please make a vid showing the car interior and stuff
@@Hanzthelord we're going to do a follow up vid.
ton of fun, eh? I have a set of lexan windows waiting to go in... just got busy with life.
@@Sub2club theyre cheap like hondas to build now. for about 8k, you can wet sleeve an n54 block, run bc 3.25l stroker kit, 625 studs, valves, springs and fire ring the block. good for about 900whp reliably at moderate boost. maxxecu makes a standalone plug and play for n54 cars now, deletes the direct injection all together and the ecu, injectors and parts are chepaer than repalcing factory injectors on the n54. thats why you see alot of them being built. the 8hp swap is 3k and a bone stock 335i with 8hp70 on bolt ons 550whp are actually pretty fast.
Speed holes 😂 I love it
Haha 😂
#showmeyourspeedholes
this reminds me of the South Park episode about he British Petroleum executives. The answer to any question is... "WE DRILL!!!"
Hahaha
I LOVE YOU MIKE
Mike loves you too! 😄
Very nice! I just don’t love replacing factory doors without a cage. It’s just a safety for me, it’s probably fine but I don’t want to check that. I have an e36 m3 fully gutted, with me in it it’s 2750.
Great point! Mike had mentioned about that and he plans to make some changes before he starts tracking this car heavily again.
A couple points of discussion on that- its less dangerous than riding a motorcycle, which nobody would make mention of if i rode a motorcycle. i also daily drove a smart car for the last seven years... i might just have a higher risk tolerance.
Another thing is the OEM door bars are steel, but they aren't as significant as people seem to think. They are about as thick as the stamped rails they use for street signs. they do add some protection, no debate there, but they are only useful in very specific scenarios. i felt fine getting rid of them.
this guy looks like tj hunt if he was born pre internet
love it!
LOL 😂
Roast beef dad!
Time to interview for the yellow car now!!
Let’s do it!
Surprised he doesn’t have drilled rotors 😂
Hahaha. If it’s pre-drilled, he doesn’t want it!
SPEEDHOLE MIKE 😳
Madman 🫡
wait till this man find out about the dimple die!
Haha let Mike get some rest 😅
What do you use to drill speed holes?
I tend to use metal hole saws with a pilot bit. i also have a hydraulic hole punch for larger holes.
Where do you buy the titanium hardware?
dress up bolts
I am in OC, please help me drill some speed holes :)
Lol
be careful what you ask for.
what size drill bit do you recommend? :D
Yes 😂
I hate to be generic, but it depends on the part I’m drilling and the material. I love hole saws with a smaller pilot bit. Use oil and take your time. Slower RPMs are usually better.
yeah but how much does it weigh though 🤔
Stay tuned for follow up video
So how much the car weighs now after all these mods?
We will do a follow up video because project is ongoing and Mike has not weighed the car because of this reason. When Mike feels that it is ready for scale, i will make sure to report back
@@Sub2club Okay nice can't wait
