Been almost a year since I've started this TCG and this was one of the first decks I built in paper thanks to your video(s). Thank you for the amazing content
Dissolve is always a great budget counterspell. Allows you to set up your next draw and straight counters a spell without a drawback of them paying mana etc. Overall an interesting budget. Also maybe a one of of Aetherling is something to think about. Very hard to get rid of if it sticks.
This deck is less than 20 tickets now and is a BLAST to play. Have any new cards come out that would serve to update it? The new Mission Briefing looks pretty promising.
AWESOME! i love hearing stories of people building and winning with the decks i make on the channel. You put in 4 Snapcaster mages? They are an awesome control & win card.
I've got a build similar to this that runs 4 delver and 2 things and is right around $70. I really like this build for a $40 budget. Don't know if you've considered it, but peek is a fantastic option in a deck like this as you can see what you need to counter. Maybe swap the think twice?
Hey Adrian, a huge thanks, just made this as my 1st ever modern deck and it rocks! Question: I'm thinking of subbing in 3-4 x Thing in the Ice instead of Cryptic Serpent. What do you think about that?
What do you think of strategic planning in the deck. It puts cards into the graveyard which could help summon cryptic serpent and flip curious homunculous
Could you maybe do like a less budget mono blue fairies or/and gameplay of the elementals deck as i am debating making it but i would like to see gameplay. Thanks!
the deck can easily go Black Blue, White Blue OR Black White Blue. I personal would go Black Blue because there is better removal and late game win conditions. (Germog Angler being one)
Hey, if i Have some torrential gearhulk should i just swap it for one serpent? And What would you suggest to take out for 1 snapcaster? And does Crush the tentacles work here? Thanks for the videos :)
I’m a college student and I’m always on a budget. But I need a deck. I have cards just, can’t make a deck that seems to work. I’ve heard of paupers are they cheap? 😭😂
was thinking the same. but sometimes you have to choose between a land or with anticipate. this let you bury a card, get a spell and put a land on on top so you dont miss a mana drop.
I want to get into modern with a deck like this (I just seem to gravitate towards it). However, I've been reading that blue is awful in modern and it's all about black and white for control. Is this a true statement or am I being trolled? Btw, I'm not looking to go to any crazy tournaments. Just want to play for fun but winning games would be nice haha
If you are looking for a deck for fun then yah get this deck! In super competitive modern sure White and Black are more common for control. But I recommend you play what you like.
+Ryan Field nope. In Magic you can have a max of 4 copy’s is any card no mater it’s rarity. The one exception is basic lands. You can have as many basic lands as you wish.
I think mine is better. I just built it last week things of Delver is it's name and only so far folds to token and elves. It's a little pricey though still budget but closer to 100 rewind is a good late game card as well just saying. subscribe to my channel if you want to see it. it will be posted very soon

That’s for watching and building my decks :)
:D

+1 on the aetherling
Ely Molloy agreed. Just too good not to include for a few cents worth
I think you are right on Aetherling. It's also a good budget price.
I think aetherling would be good, as he's a finisher you can protect, pump, and make unblockable to finish off the game.
I’m going to swap out serum visions for a play set of that or opt
This deck is less than 20 tickets now and is a BLAST to play.

instablaster.
I'd add in Mindshrieker personally. It's a fun build though!
Oooh yea let's make some popcorn
I made this deck in paper with all the upgrades except vendilion clique, cryptic command, and pact negation. Its incredibly powerful.
AWESOME! i love hearing stories of people building and winning with the decks i make on the channel. You put in 4 Snapcaster mages? They are an awesome control & win card.
Im surprised to not see delver of secrets, being a finisher that lets you leave your mana open
Diego Maurel Or thing in the ice for that matter
NO! ALWAYS JUND"EM!
I mostly wanted to do something different then delver, It is a better card then any of the other Win cons, because it is cheaper and gets evasion.
thing in the ice is $4.50. Hard to keep a deck in the $40 - $60 range when cards cost that much. Otherwise I would be running Remand too.

This deck seems pretty sweet!
what do i switch out for remands?
Hey Adrian, a huge thanks, just made this as my 1st ever modern deck and it rocks! Question: I'm thinking of subbing in 3-4 x Thing in the Ice instead of Cryptic Serpent. What do you think about that?
+Rados Paunovic is say leave in the serpent but take out the Curious Humunculis. Also I’d say put in thought scours.
Giant Monster Games Would really enjoyed if you made a revised edit edition
I combined this deck and the black control deck I think it works pretty well I only run one cryptic serpent doe
What do you think of strategic planning in the deck. It puts cards into the graveyard which could help summon cryptic serpent and flip curious homunculous
It's an ok card. My hang up is it's a sorcery so it is kinda slow.
Giant Monster Games how would condescend fit in the deck? Could it be better than essence scatter or negate?
Could you maybe do like a less budget mono blue fairies or/and gameplay of the elementals deck as i am debating making it but i would like to see gameplay. Thanks!
Why not use ghost quarter to constantly filter down your own deck?
I'd probably add Thought Scour and Logic Knot, because your Homu also flips on the graveyard.
I think you are right. Originally I was trying to do more draw fixing but i think filling the graveyard would have been better.
bruxonn12 what would you replace with logic knot and thought scour? Telling time and negate?
-4 Serum Visions
-1 Think Twice
-1 Essence Scatter
+4 Thought Scour
+2 Logic Knot
Just probably, to be sure I'd have to test it
Hey just made this deck and wondering else to put in for removal either thinking black or white, cheers..
the deck can easily go Black Blue, White Blue OR Black White Blue. I personal would go Black Blue because there is better removal and late game win conditions. (Germog Angler being one)

And does Crush the tentacles work here?
Thanks for the videos :)
I'd drop 2 curious humunkulos for them. As for Crush of tentacles... I'd say no.
Okay Great thanks for the response! Really love your work and the time you spend with your community, its really awesome
What do you think of putting the delver of secrets in place of Curious Homunculus?
It's a good Idea. I just wanted to go a different / Cheaper direction.
Glyph Keeper is really good
does this deck need so many draw cards? it feels like it wouldnt hurt to have even more counter spells. Thanks for the help!
Sweet deck.
Budget Affinity
I play this deck and love it. Love dropping zombie horde on my opponent
Would you say this is still viable in the current meta?
What about a good ol Tromokratis?
Hey adrian, like your videos, id like you to see you do a blue white version of this i think it would be pretty interesting now that JTMS is unbanned
Blue White Control ha been on my list for a while. Just need to get around to making it into videos.
haha nice, I have two jace and just dont know how to build a wu deck without running the other 40 dollar cards it requires
why no spire golem?
Might splash black and make this!
Splashing black or White makes this deck much much better
Giant Monster Games any chance you can have a updated white n blue control? Budget or budgetishh haha

A very cheap format and the game players amazing it's basically legacy light
Maybe Thing in the Ice and Disrupting Shoal
Both good options.
Muy bueno como siempre.
Are you going to revisit this deck? :)
Yep after the next Ixalan set come out.
Great :)
Has it been rotated out
paul dessauer modern doesnt rotate
I would suggest anticipate over think twice
was thinking the same. but sometimes you have to choose between a land or with anticipate. this let you bury a card, get a spell and put a land on on top so you dont miss a mana drop.
think twice gives you 2 for 1 (cards) I think it's fine, but telling time... that's the one I'd replace for anticipate
donogan Telling time is severely underrated.
deprive?
Amazing)

Barul and thing in the ice would be better
Veh-dal-ken
hmm, put in delver and some better filter cards and you got a more faster deck!
Agreed. I just wanted to go a different direction then the Delver decks that you normally see.
What happened? Its now about 10€
pteramander
Why no brainstorm or ponder?
+Aaron Frank both are banned in modern.
I found it on TCG Player for 35 dollars so it was cheaper then expected.
NICE! Glad to see the price of this deck has gone down!
Thanks for making the deck list.
How can you have 4 copies of Curious Homunculus if it’s a uncommon can’t you only have 3
+Ryan Field nope. In Magic you can have a max of 4 copy’s is any card no mater it’s rarity. The one exception is basic lands. You can have as many basic lands as you wish.
Ryan Field do you play magic duels? That might be why you asked this.
Counterspells ruins the fun in magic.
