The R32 / A3 3.2 are quite a bit heavier than the 130i. To me the 130i feels considerably quicker and more immediate in day to day driving.

About the zf 6 speed, m539 restorations mentions that you can get alpina software for it to make it much snappier.

That A3 must be similar to the Golf R32, except softer.
Did it have a real Quattro awd or haldex awd?
Not totally sure tbh, but yeah I’ve heard it’s a little softer
They’re basically the same. The Audi from memory is ever so slightly longer and a touch lighter. They’re all haldex, thus transverse layout.
It's a Haldex, but being just a 250hp V6 it doesn't make much difference compared to a Torsen.
The audi megatronics can become a headache on the dsg...That n52b30 is next level especially in manual..If auto XHP map changes that lazy Auto

The Audi is around 300kg heavier.
Sounds like a design flaw then lol....same class of car, smaller displacement as well, AWD always heavy tho but whats the point if it can't get its power down.@@mattdebyl8806
@@lucaking4041 I mean, the R32 / A3 tend to have as good, if not better 0-100 times. The AWD and DSGs definitely help them launch. But in-gear would be worse. The 130i is a way, way better drive IMO though.
A3 is heavier and has automatic and AWD.

Yeah literally almost identical
Its a budget R32, from the factory the R32 has a slightly more aggressive gear ratio in the DSG and I think the seats hold you more.
Think R32 back road crazy, A3 3.2 is refined

I’ve had both and also a Corrado converted with an Audi 3.2 in it. The 130i is just in a different league to drive. The RWD little hatch is just so much better to drive. The Corrado was also great fun. The Audi was so dull I took the engine out to put in the Corrado.
