In this video tutorial I show how to set up the Akai MPC 500 for MIDI sequencing.
The MPC500 is not only a great beat-making machine, but also a powerful MIDI sequencer and MIDI looper for your external instruments, like synthesizers and drum machines. With a MIDI keyboard and just a little bit of setup, it can become the brain of your electronic music instruments, while still offering all the MPC-typical functionality.

If you've read this far, post a comment with the word "beatz" in it :D
As always typically German...
Informative, to the point, efficient....
You've saved me and my brother hours of unplugging, rewiring, scrolling through endless menus late into the early hours..
Portable recorder here we come!
Danke schön matey 😌
Gern geschehen ;)
i guess I'm pretty randomly asking but does anybody know of a good website to watch new tv shows online?
@Memphis Marco try flixzone. Just google for it :)
@Cason Waylon Definitely, I've been watching on Flixzone for since april myself =)
@Cason Waylon Thank you, I went there and it seems like a nice service :) I really appreciate it!
I'm very excited about getting my MPC500 pretty soon. I'm completely new to the whole music production scene. Your video is so helpful and I feel I have to thank you for being extremely noob-friendly and very clear! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Of all the rubbish tutorials i ahve gone thru youtube about connecting akai midi, YOURS IS THE BEST!!!!! Really informative and to the point, other videos is wate of time.
The best midi explanation I have ever seen! Also the best mpc quick guide. Awesome
Thank you :) Happy to read that you liked the video! Enjoy the MPC!
In between mpc's at the moment having owned the 2000, 2000xl x 2 and now thinking about the 500 on eBay. Any pad issues?
I think the pads are fine. They are stiffer than on the big MPCs though, if I remember correctly.
Thank you. One of the 1000 models released had a flawed pad set that needed replacing quite quickly.
This was so useful. Thanks. There are no videos on youtube that show how to set up the MPC to record MIDI, only 100s of videos of people "makin my first beatZ" etc! I did not realise the output channel could be changed for each track and you could record a sequence of notes so simply.
That is GENIUS design :) Ive got an MPC waiting for me back in the UK,up to now it has just been playing long speech samples...now it will have a new life as my midi loop recorder. thanks for all your help and quick replies. if you ever need anything midi related, you know where I am.
One of best videos around about MPC synchronization big up
Thank you :)
Thanks a lot for this professional and helpful tutorial! Actually the best one so far :-)
Thank you for your clear and very helpful video. I am a guitar player who wants to set up some simple syth sequences for recording and this information is very helpful.
You have an effectively concise way of getting your message across which I appreciate.I am a guitarist with little knowledge of keyboards and MIDI etc.Having said that I am interested in learning for the purpose of home recording.Have you done any more of these tutorials? If not I encourage you to do so because as I said you are an effective communicator. Thanks.
Thank you for this clear, informative and well-produced video!
I love your tutorial the way you speak nice and slow and clearly, also your visuals are excellent,I just got a MPC 500 and a very old school from 60's lol!...but I write my on music using a Yamaha MX61,and a Boss BSR-600 with Mbox not sure of how to hook everything up but am learning.thanks to you, have subscribed to you.
Thank you very much! Go ahead and upload some videos of your jam sessions or write me a link to your SoudCloud, etc. :)
Sure thing!
This tutorial is very clear and easy to understand - you have a knack for it. :)
Very helpful video! Extremely informative to a novice as myself. I am currently building a home studio, I plan on incorporating The MPC Renaissance and midi keyboard in my studio, very similar to your set-up. My only downfall is I have no idea as to what I am doing. However with the world wide web, and videos like this on my side, I plan on having looooong nights of practice and hands on! Good video and thanks!!
okay im back,
i hooked up the midi in of the mpc to the midi out of the keyboard and vis-versa.
set the "soft thru" on the mpc to off
i can hear the sounds of the S03 yamaha synthesizer but they are not being recorded into the mpc lol im sorry for bugging boss but you are the only person that pops up on the world wide web when i look up how to do this that seems to be doing what im trying to do
thanks again man
Thanks a lot for that, just what I was after. Much appreciated
Mine arrived today! It never occurred to me that the MPC was for anything other than hip hop so I'm really glad you did these videos and Noisevoid on Instagram gave me some amazing tips on a great set up. I like being out of box as well, bug I hate menu diving do I'm still looking for ways to find a happy medium.
+setphaser hey, I can finally seem to reply to you! How's the MPC working out for you so far?
great tips,,
Thanks :) I'm glad the video was helpful.
your videos are incredibly helpful!
Love your videos, they're really simple and straightforward! :)
Great video, very professionally done. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for this video! Do you have to set up Program assign, MIDI channel, and Track type for all your tracks every time you start a new sequence, or is there a way to set up a default so you can just keep your instruments plugged in and go?
Yes, you can save an auto-load project with all your stuff set up :)
That is great news! Thanks so much!!
That's awesome. Kinda exactly what I need. Cheers
your voice is hella soothing
This is pure gold
Thanks! Happy to read that you enjoyed it :)
I just spent a couple hours last night trying to figure this out. I eventually did. But I wish I had seen this first.
Oh well, but now you’ve dug deep into the whole thing by yourself and I’m sure you’ve learned even more about MIDI stuff than if you had just watched this video :)
very good tutorial, really well explained! thank you! ;)
Awesome! Happy to read that :) thanks for watching!
Thanks, very useful tips!

Very great Explanation 👍👍
This video was very helpful thank you for sharing it!
Cool! Glad it was helpful :)
your video's are immensely helpful and entertaining. I have an ableton push and use it basically the same way you use the mpc. I would like to get away from the computer workflow though. Do you feel slowed down or ever think it's a pain in the ass to just use the mpc. Thank you
Sounds fantastic man. I'm watching all your other videos and they're extremely technical and blow me away. I need somewhere to practice and start. Any suggestions? Much appreciated. Thanks again!
This video made me understand I have to add track 2 to make drum+midi sounds lol
Cool! Keep adding tracks! :)
thanks alot man! you explain very well, i just got a little tipsy,..lol...ill try this first thing tomorrow, ill let you know how it works..THANKs
YOU ARE THE MAN SIR!!!!!
I set up everything exactly like the video but Everytime I press a key on the synth it just starts sending out random notes and eventually crashes the synth. Any ideas on how I can fix that?
Could it be that the Synth sends MIDI to the MPC and the MPC sends the same MIDI signal back to the Synth which then sends it to the MPC, etc. Like a loop?
@@tuesdaynightmachines No, I set the synth to "Slave" mode and it did the same thing. I ran a MIDI monitor on it and it just keeps sending restart and midi stop messages.
Can it quantize MIDI sequences, or is it purely unquantized? The vast majority of videos showing this MPC are unquantized hip hop beats lol
Yes, of course. You have various quantization settings, like on any other MPC :)
thank you this was a huge help
Hi, Can you set up zones (note range limits) on this or any mpc? I'm totally new to the mpc world but I have a Yamaha keyboard (cp5) that allows me to send C3 (and below) to an external bass synth (minitaur) and then C#3 and above to another external synth (blofeld). The Yamaha keyboard doesn't have a sampler or a sequencer so I can sell it and get a motif or try to outsource these duties to an mpc.
I have to send midi to the mpc in order to use it as a sequencer but I play keys so I'm concerned about the poor resolution of the sequencer as well as its ability to route 'zones' so I can play with my familiar keyboard splits. I can't find this info in the manual...either way I appreciate your videos. Thanks!
nice vid!
i have never upgraded the ram in mine!
if i connect it to my mc505 i can send 48 tracks of midi to 8 instruments/tracks through one cable! i start and beatsync it from my behringer ddm4000 dj mixer and have track one for mpc. 2,3,4 for mc505! lots of beats for cheeper than sheep meat!
Hi Fix04,
Sorry to be trouble, would you be able to do a very short video, for the midi keyboard step by step guide, I think it would help me & others alot.
I would be very greatful.
Thank you Fix04, amazing you got back straight away, I am trying to trigger sounds that are my own samples, so they are on various pads. all I want to is trigger from a midi keyboard, not the pads. Could you give a quick tutorial, My Midi keyboard is Oxgen 8, all want to do is connect via midi to the MPC, If you could tell me a step by step run through, It would help a great deal.
Thanks !
These videos are a bless....i would never understand my mpc otherwise...i'm used to old simple linear sequencers...like in my CZ 5000....thank you flx04....don't ever stop making these vids. One question..would the mpc 500 be suitable as a live sound/sample recorder? (recording outdoors)..Or would you recomend something else for that? :-)
is it possible to connect a USB keyboard to the mpc if its connected to a audio interface with midi cables connected with the mpc? i only use my mpc in standalone mode but want to be able to play the keys using the vst plugins ive got on my computer
Sure, you can route the USB Keyboard MIDI into your DAW and then from there out of the interface’s DIN MIDI ports into the MPC.
Thanks man 👌
Hi man! Thanks for the upload. May I ask for a quick tutorial of the Effect section on the 500 please? How to save it to a program, how to assign to multiple tracks... Thanks !
You only assign effects to individual pads, not to whole tracks. To save the FX I think you need to save a project file of everything, as FX types and parameters are not saved with programs I think (only the send amount?). This lets you change FX easily (even with the sequencer) without the need to edit the program.
@@tuesdaynightmachines Hi man! Thanks for taking the time to answer my question! I will try it out...Have a nice weekend!!
Thank you! It is the information I needed! But, how do you control other synth modules with the same keyboard? Can you render audio from the synth easily? I own severel modules through a mixer. I need something as good as ableton push, but without the computer. I'd love an MPC5000 but it is a phantom or tooooooo expensive here in Brazil. Thank you.
You need to assign a MIDI channel to the different synth (modules) and then just switch the transmitting MIDI channel of the keyboard. You can't record or render audio with the MPC in such a ways a in Ableton though.
Life saver..
Hello The Tuesday Night Machines, i have a question can't find a answer about it, do you know if i can play some chords on my JX3P that can be sequenced into my mpc. I mean not using the pad of the mpc !? Thanks for your answer !
+Paul Real Yes, the JX3P has MIDI Out (to send data to the MPC to be recorded by the sequencer) and also MIDI In (to receive data from the MPC's sequencer).
+The Tuesday Night Machines Thanks guys for answering ! i've done that, but it say "Wait for Midi Play", i try to press some random keys on the JX3P but nothing happen :'(
Well, I'm afraid you have to check the manuals then. Make sure you've got the MIDI channels set up correctly.
Thank you. This is very helpful. The manual was not as helpful as this video!
ok danke
klappt jetzt soweit iwie
+kabel kaos hm, keine Ahnung.
Really helpful video. Thanks alot. I just got an MPC 1000 yesterday! I'm assuming all the information you've given us can be passed over but I was wondering if I could sample the drums my Roland 626 Drum Machine. Would I need to plug the midi out from the 626 into the MPC to do that?
It should translate to the MPC 1000 as well. Sampling is another process though, for which you don't (can't?) use the MPC's MIDI functionality. Enter Sample mode and just manually trigger each sound on the Roland to record it as audio on the MPC. Once you've got the sound files in the MPC you can play/sequence them.
quite a cool explanation. not sure if i got it right but is it possible to record midi on the fly, while e.g. the 500 is sync'd and running in a live set? and then its running in a loop? cheers
+Valcons Productions yes that's possible as far as I remember.
cool, maybe i give it a try. in used condition its a steal anyway.
Hello!
Is it possible to assign to different tracks, different instruments(sounds) from the same keyboard? Or does the keyboard has to have a sequencer itself ?
This might be abit offtopic but I want to know if it's possible to layer sounds from the same keyboard on the mpc's tracks via midi.
Cheers!
+Andi C. Depends, if the keyboard is multi-timbral (i.e. map sounds to their own MIDI channel), then yes, you can use the MPC sequencer to sequence those sounds individually.
it worked!..thanks again man, i subcribed to your cool channel. can i keep you in mind, if i have questions in the future?
With the MPC 500, can you also record MIDI CC automations into the track in a sequence? Also, is the resolution for this function fine enough in the MPC 500, without making it sound too 'steppy'?
MIDI CC resolution is standardized to 128 steps, so the MPC500 offers that resolution as well :)
@@tuesdaynightmachines Thanks. So can you record CC automation?
thank you
thanks mane, appreciated.
Fix04 Your star, got it working after so many months, Thank you gotta work out how I can get my samples on the right notes, ie, c2 & then say C sharp 2 ect......
So once you've created those loops, can you control them individually? As in could you loop them in a live setting and have them automatically assign to a pad so as to be able to turn each loop on and off individually?
Hey there! Firstly, thanks for the clip (danke ;) ). I have a question with which you may (or not) be able to help me out:
I have
- an MPC 2500
- a Novation K Station
I hooked up the novation K Station (Midi In) to the MPC (Midi OUT) and on channel 1 A, the notes can be played on the MPC key pads for the novation (no issues there, works like a charm).
Also, the keyboard for the novation works fine (i can continue to play notes).
However, the only way for me to sequence the notes I play are via the MPC key pad, which is, of course, a bit limited.
How did you set up your synth, to record the sequence you play on your synth on the MPC? Did you connect the synth's Midi OUT to the MPC's Midi IN?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
(i think you may have already given the answer in the comment section... i will test this out tonight)
Hey :) Yes, you have to connect the synth's MIDI out to the MPC's MIDI in too. In order to avoid a loop, you have to disable the synth's keyboard link to the sound engine (often called "local off"). Let me know if it works.
hello again! indeed, it worked like a charm :)
i also hooked up my virus access and blofield with a midi keyboard i found on the attic using the same hook up (midi in for the keyboard, midi out for the devices)... as i have an mpc 2500, i'm having super midi fun with 3 synths now, and no need for a PC :D
your little clip rocked! keep up the good work!
matzomaniac Sweet! Did you connect more than one keyboard to the MPC's MIDI IN ports? I also have another MPC tutorial, in which I show how I use track mutes and multiple instruments: How I Jam 3/3: Live Session Akai MPC Tutorial (MPC 500, MPC 1000, MPC 2500, etc.) #TTNM
***** I connected one midi keyboard that controls all 3 devices (novation/virus/blofield) and I disabled the novation's internal keyboard (to avoid the loop, as u described). Now I recorded several tracks that I can easily jam around with using track mute... Ultimate goal is song mode, using several "finished" sequences... so much fun :) as soon as I recorded a jam i'll post it to you :)
Thank you for your help, I appreciate it!
I have a Casio wk-7600 and an MPC500. My question is: Can I have the sequencer of the mpc control the keyboard sounds to playback my patterns. It seems you already explained this. But I'm trying to use the loop function of the mpc instead. Because the Casio 76 key does not have the loop function in which you can use.
I'm not sure what you mean by "loop function" but you can indeed sequence your synth form the MPC and use the synth's keyboard to add notes to the MPC's MIDI track.
Awsome job :D
thanks for your quick response man. i do have questions. i have a yamaha keyboard and a boss dr 3 drum machine. is it that easy for me to just make sure both midi channels r the same. then ill be able to record sounds from my board to my drum mchine?
Hey, great video. Thanks for posting. It is really helpful.
I have a Novation Mininova synthesiser and was wondering if it would work with the MPC 500 like you have shown.
Thanks.
Tom
Hi Tom :) You can definitely use your Mininova with the MPC 500. Connect MN MIDI-OUT to MPC MIDI-IN and MPC MIDI-OUT to MN MIDI-IN. Then you might have to disable the MN keyboard's connection to the sound engine (often called "local off"), so that the MN keyboard just sends MIDI notes and doesn't directly trigger sounds, because you want the MPC to trigger them.
Great video. Been trying to do this forever .Can you do this wt a mpc 2000XL to?
can you play more than 12 notes on the synth .. do you get a full set of keys ?? also do you need to use up a pad bank to do this ?
You have four (I think) pad banks so you can play 4x 12 notes with the pads. You probably have to create a MIDI program(?) for this track, but you can of course use samples and other stuff on other tracks at the same time. I'm sorry, I haven't got the MPC 500 anymore, so I can't give you more detailed answers.
I made a program especially for this purpose, u can get it here :)
www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=187445
Thanks for your offer of help,I wonder if I can do the following...
hook up a midi controller to the midi INPUT, hook up my Ipad as a sound module to the OUTPUT, record a sequence in realtime (live) playing the controller, that then loops at the end of the sequence and plays on the sound module?
perfect ! A very helpful Tutorial . Records the akai Sequencer modulations Data from the EMU Keyboard to the external synth ?
+FSCbyDEEP Yes, Mod Wheel and Pitch Bend data are also recorded (and probably other CC data too).
+The Tuesday Night Machines
So a combination is possible ? Sq1 (Korg Stepsequencer) > Akai MPC > ext. Synth
thanx
I don't think my 1000 has a "params" button, what do you think I should press instead?
I have a question for you: how do i play the sequence then in track 2 with MIDI channel 2 on the MIDI keyboard? apparently MIDI keyboards on MPC work only on 1 channel right?
Yes, that might be the case. One input channel and then individual track output channels.
Are u german ? Oder halt bist du deutsch ?
Your acent sounds very german :)
I want to buy me something like this and your tutorial was very clear and helpful :)
Would this work well as a sequencer for a multitimbral synthesizer? If so how many channels of MIDI could it send. Thanks for any advice.
+MikaelMonae yes, the MPC 500 has 16 channels it can send data on. Bigger MPCs have even more.
Hello,
Question.
1.) If everything is set up to record Midi-Sequences and control more than 1 external Synth, is there a need of useing a Midi-Interface at the Midi-Output to set up the Midi-Connection from the MPC to each Synth and there is also the need of Useing different Midi-Cannels for each (Synth-)Connetion?
2.) Do you know more Gear that is able to do such a Work? Maybe with having it's Drumsequencing set up like a 16Stepsequencer with recording 'on the fly'?
hello is this the same as the MPC 2500 i own a MPC 2500 and a blofeld desk top synth i also own a emu short board keyboard can you help great video
Do you know how to add different sames from each program to make your own folder?
im using traktor to send MIDI data out to my MPC 500 then to my volca fm. my mpc is set to slave and thru as track. how do i get my volca to listen to traktor?
So if I have a midi keyboard I can plug it into my mpc500 and record what I play from the keyboad? What if I am using a DAW for different sounds not actually on the keyboard?
Yes, you can record the MIDI data from your keyboard. The sounds are not part of that and can be changed at any time, regardless of the note data.
Great video.Very helpful and informative.
I have some questions though:
Can you play multiple sequences on different instruments at once? ex:can I have drums going on while 1 synth plays a distinct melody and another synth plays a seperate bassline?
If you were "performing" a song how would you switch between parts where the midi files sent out to hardware changes and plays something different? ex:from intro, into verse, into chorus.
Do you have to play each part before you can sequence it or can you load midi files in and have the MPC play them?
Peter fnord may have touched on this below but I'm not sure. I don't have one of these yet and want to make sure its capable of what I'm looking for before purchase. THANKS!
Yes, you can play several tracks at the same time and mute them individually, while performing. You can also create sequences (combinations of tracks) and link them together into a song, both live and pre programmed - at least on the MPC 1000 and up.
Check out this video of mine: ua-cam.com/video/3f8kwpRe-jM/v-deo.html
***** thanks for responding so quickly......I'vebeen exploring your videos all day and I'm understanding more and more. It seems I'll have to get an mpc1000 rather than a 500 for what I'm looking for.
Yes, while the 500 is great, the 1000 with JJOS is a lot better to work with :)
Great video! Just one question. I'm able to record my keyboard into my MPC 5000 using midi. The problem I'm having is that every time I change the sound of my keyboard, it also changes the sound of the recording. i.e. if I recorded using bass in track 1 and want to record a piano sound in track 2, track 1 will now switch to the piano sound. Can you help?
Yes, this is normal, because you record MIDI data and not audio data. I made a video explaining what MIDI is here :) MIDI Tutorial: What is MIDI and how is it used? #TTNM
ihi there, thanks for the tutoriall, i have a question, i was wondering if a could play a sample from the mpc with an external keyboard, say i sample a piano, can i then play different notes from that piano with an external keyboard? thanks!
+Olfa Meocorde yes, you can. Although you have to prepare the different pitches/samples individually for each key or pad. Here's a basic demo of how to set up playback with an external keyboard: ua-cam.com/video/ZeN8wgGjip4/v-deo.html
hiya, this is all new to me... for the last yr i`ve bought lots of digital hardware, yamaha QY100 music sequencer. this device has a built in mini keyboard, but i`d like to use a full size when i`m programing... what do i need to buy?? also i dont like the drum sounds in the QY100 and wondered if i could midi my boss BR900 drum machine into the sequencer to replace the drums? hope this makes sense.... thanks
Thanks for doing this vid. I'm curious if after doing all of that setup if it will keep/remember those settings next time you turn the unit on, or do you have to go through all of those menus again. I'm debating getting this unit strictly for the sequencer, not drums/samples.
Great video, and i love the mpc500. Could you sample the sounds from the synth and play these from the keyboard using the mpc500 as the sound source. If so how would you do this?
Can i ask you some question regarding syncing . Im aiming to get my mpc 2500 as the master, running with ableton and my two synths via a kenton quad midi adapter and a Scarlett 2i4
Hey, sure thing! What are your questions :)
Could you use the same synth to record the sequence and play it back? Or would that make a midi feedback loop?
nice..
i have a microkorg and i was wondering if i could just have the mpc 500 trigger bass lines chords etc and make entire songs with the sequences
Yes, you can :) You can create several sequences and arrange them into a song. You can also play the sequences and switch between them on the fly. Here's another video about this: How I Jam 3/3: Live Session Akai MPC Tutorial (MPC 500, MPC 1000, MPC 2500, etc.) #TTNM
Thanks for the upload - it's very helpful. How does the mpc deal with looping midi data of different bar lengths? For example, will it loop a one bar midi phrase 4 times over a 4 bar midi prhase, or just loop one time with a 3 bar rest?
It doesn't. You can only have tracks of the same length in one loopable sequence and you have to set the sequence length beforehand. So if you create a 4 bar sequence, all you tracks with the phrases in them are 4 bars too and you have to fill them up "manually". After that it can loop the whole sequence and you can mute individual tracks/phrases. You can of course create several sequences of different lengths, but only one sequence can play at a time.
Hi! I'm looking for a machine for live playing. I think TRACK MUTE function could do the trick, but I have few questions that I would like to know answers to:
1. How long are loading times ? This wouldn't be the only device, so some reasonable load time is ok
2. Can I play internal sounds of mpc with midi keyboard ? Say I would load a string or organ sample and I would love to play it live alongside other samples.
3. Can you midi control different aspects of an mpc ? Like filter, volume, fx etc. ?
4. Can input be used as pseudo-mixer ? For example I could use synth as simple mono in and have a setup like you have, but play mpc sounds from keyboard, while mpc plays synth by midi
Hey :)
1. Load time depend on the amount and length of samples, but it isn’t too bad.
2. Yes, you can play samples on a keyboard.
3. No, not on the MPC 500 at least.
4. Same as 3., so not on the MPC 500. I think it works on the bigger or more modern ones.
@@tuesdaynightmachines As for 2 I've found some posts claiming that it doesn't have chromatic mode. Through editor I've found robust sample engine with 4 layers switchable through velocity, and no sign of chromatic sampling
That’s true, there is no chromatic mode on the MPC 500. However you can set up a program to spread the same sample (or different ones) across pads/keys at different pitches. This would maybe be 5 minutes of work at first, depending on how many octaves you want.
amazing tutorial! i am having a hard time trying to input the 'program assign' to off, is that a malfunction os just my ignorance? thanks a lot
+Comungus have you switched the track mode to MIDI (not DRUM)?
Can anybody help me, I’ve just purchased an MPC500 from eBay...and I think it’s broke. I’ve followed this video and tried spare midi cables And lots of different synths and I can not get midi to go through the MPC as per this video! I’ve also read lots of the manual etc. It’s as if the Midi in or out isn’t working. Any help would be great as I am pretty angry right now, thanks
Nashoba Addai cheers dude, I’ve given them guys a shout - no ones heard of the problem I’ve got but I’ve been given some places that might repair ! Thanks for your help :)
okay so i have a micro korg and i just bought a mpc 500 and im wanting to do what youve shown plus and bass line is that possible with the micro korg and live bass guitar samples also using mpc's drum patterns?
I'm just starting my research into making beats. Do u have any advice as to what equipment I need to begin?
An MPC is certainly a great start. Many people do use computers though nowadays so check out software/hardware solutions like Ableton and NI Maschine too.
Trina Ellis have you made any beats yet?
try the korg volca beats
great vid man...thanks alot
I have a Yamaha MX61 and Boss BSR-600,I just want to know if you can sample totally original music keyboard, drum tracks and all?
Of course, the MPC can record samples of your music and then you can sequence those samples on it :)
Thank you...I am very new to this.
i am having an issue sending midi from MPC to analog synth microbrute.
my set up is now
MPC500 - master
thru box
to microbrute
to esq1
to tr-505
to electribe es-1
i just got the es-1 and mpc500 a few days ago and am having issues.
!!! sucks!
Well, make sure the midi channels match between the MPC and the MicroBrute. Check the manuals on how to change them :)
