    You wouldn't think a car from the late 60s would be competitive with a car from the early 80s.

      It depends on tires, skirts (lifted vs not lifted), intake restrictors, etc. I'm sure there are plenty of ways to rig the racing so that it's close and fair. If only modern F1 could better figure out how to do that...

    • @IschChef
      @IschChef 8 років тому

      This cars are not all competitive.
      I like the fact that modern F1 is not all BoP and rigged. It always was a constructers championship and it always should stay that way.
      If that means that Mercedes is the one dominating, because they found a way to build a car with a connected suspension despite the fact of FRIC being banned - I like it.

      I think it's more down to the drivers not the cars

    • @IschChef
      @IschChef 8 років тому +1

      F1 was always mostly down to the cars if you wanted to win

    • @seantaylor2683

      when new and fighting for a championship yes but for a reunion race I think it's more down to driver skill and how hard they are willing to push their cars

    Idk why they say these are the fastest cars to ever race at Laguna Seca. 991 GT3 Cup cars race there and are just as quick. DPi cars and LMP2 cars race there and are far faster, probably the fastest at this point

    Bid money brings big legendary names and cars. Jacques Villeneuve in the F1 of his father. It was really a misted opportunity, like some people always do....International intention, not only local...

    Are they using original engines? Every car sounded alike and were screaming like they should. Maybe they are all using some modern Cosworth racing V8 engines?

    A video testament to the fact that one could build and operate a successful F1 car for an entire season in 1970 for what it costs to run one race today. (Maybe even less.) F1 is out of control. It's an arms race on fat tires.

    Where do they get these commentators from ? Too much Yakity Yak BS. For example, I really don't care how difficult it was for you to build a model of some F1 car as a kid, I don't care about the movie Rush (it was crap BS drivel ), and the pedigree of drivers in this race also doesn't matter, it's the car itself - year, who was the lead driver of the day - done ! Go watch some English commentary on Classic racing and get some ideas. This is not the usual NASCAR, or Indy champ crap you usually report on - get your act together ......... BTW, please note Vintage racing is more popular than any form of other Motor Sport right now - so get it right guys, please, will ya, aha, thanks !

      I mean, you're right, they provide commentary. And a lot of it, but compared to modern motorsports, they give it a breath. I wish modern broadcasters would shut the hell up so we could hear. This has more need for history lessons.

    • @slowanddeliberate6893
      @slowanddeliberate6893 8 років тому

      They used to commentate races on the late Speed Channel. I guess they found the actual race to be little bit boring.

      It's a nostalgic exhibition race at a motorsports reunion, what did you expect?

    • @beyond_the_infinite2098
      @beyond_the_infinite2098 6 років тому

      I expected the announcers to provide more pertinent info about each car, drivers, teams, placings, championships - You Know, Racing History.
