Thanks for the comment, it does pretty well! I’m using a GoPro hero7 in 4K. I wish the quality was better. With some off-road tires this bike would do way better
I rented a DR 650 in Ecuador. I rode almost 3000 kms in all types of terrain. Many, many times I wished that I had my Himalayan. The RE will go slower without complaint. I needed that in the really tough sections as I found that on the DR I needed to keep the revs up, and that made it too fast under many circumsatnces.
I have a scram and I was wondering, do you lube the chain after you wash the bike? If so, what do you use to allow the back tire to spin (since there's no center stand)
I use wd-40 on the chain, and I have the same problem. I just walk it ahead a couple feet and go again but it doesn’t seem like the best method. It’s apparently a sealed oiled chain so to my understanding we’re just preventing rust and giving it a little bit of lubrication by externally oiling it. My brother uses gear oil on his chain but the heavier to goo the more likely sand will stick to it and it can wear your chain out. Dealer recommended I use wd40
WD-40 is great for cleaning and degreasing your chain, but it doesn't work well as a lubricant. It will provide some lubrication but nowhere near enough. Best to use a high quality bike specific lubricant instead. WD-40 does have a chain lube. I would stick with specific bike lube myself. WD-40 draws fine dust. In lock hardware, we stayed away from WD-40. Himalayan owner so I want that Scram to last. Stay safe.
Does the scam411 and dr650 have the similar hp and torque. And what are their mpg. I been thinking about those two bikes and was wondering which one would be better to buy for new beginning rider. Who wants to be able drive highway and off road.
@@starjoke8781 the scram is underpowered compared to the dr650. I don’t really care anymore I’ve had big bikes before and I do sometimes miss the torque and power but the scram is fine for my current needs/wants and it’s comfortable and fun to ride. The DR rides like a dirt bike on the road but it’s comfortable enough
@@starjoke8781 not personally. Too much $ I’ll have this scram for as long as I can now. It’s paid off so no point in buying another bike. My brother owns the DR650 and he really seems to like it. I guess for you, the 450 may be a better go. I’ve heard it’s more lively of an engine
@@starjoke8781 you too pal! Take care :) sorry I’m not much of an expert. I’ve been riding for many years but I don’t know a ton about motorcycles I have not owned :)
Wow, the scram looked a lot more capable in your video than I expected. Really helpful to see this!

power washing is bad for bikes!
