'Dharana - The 6th Anga' by Sri M
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- Sri M speaks about the 6th Anga in Ashtanga Yoga which is Dharana.
Sri M - "In the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the first sentence of the Vibhuti Pada section is:
'desa bandas cittasya dharana'
According to the Yoga Sutras, in the section called Vibhuti Pada, the definition of Dharana is the capacity to hold your mind together, instead of being scattered and distracted.
Vibhuti actually means when the mind expands to a higher level of consciousness. Therefore it is very apt that the first sentence in the Vibhuti Pada section of the yoga sutras is about the expansion of the mind and the first step to that expansion is 'Dharana'....."
This online session took place on 4th June, 2020 in Madanapalle.

Nice session 🙏 . Sir, somewhere in the text of hatha yoga was mention that Patanjali yoga sutra was inspired by the Buddhism but I dont believe it because there are no trave of it have been found and it's an age old practice and buddhism came later. Can you plz give light on it. Thank you🙏🙏🙏
Patanjali’s yoga sutras are much much older. Amongst the oldest texts in the world
He had mentioned in one of the interviews that the original pathanjali was much older than budhism and that the pathanjali was half snake and half man ( probably an extraterrestrial who came to earth)!
Pranam how can I meet you sri M ?
Please write to meetsrim@satsang-foundation.org
Mrs Lakshmi will respond to you.
The video editor didn't do his/her job perfectly here. Because I noticed a few cuts in between the video. Please make sure to upload the original unedited version.
No content has been edited. So nothing is missing. The editor also is just recovering from severe eye strain, and was advised to be careful not to spend long hours. Kindly ignore any flaws in the editing cuts, mostly for switching camera angles to retain viewer attention.
@@DeepakRatanM Thanks for your response and for providing the details. I understood and really appreciate the job that you guys are doing, especially under the guidance of Sri M and other Great Beings. Dear "editor", I can feel your pain because I work almost 16 hours, most of the days in front of multiple PCs (yes I have a weird job !!!). I was just trying to act smart using my "comment" earlier but as you know, that didn't go well LOL :) Thanks again to Deepak and the beloved hard working "editor".
