  • The merits of building and using a peening anvil are numerous, especially for blacksmiths and metalworkers. Peening anvils, often small and portable, provide several advantages. First, they allow for precise and controlled metalworking, making it easier to shape, refine, and finish delicate small pieces or to beat an edge thin ready for sharpening. Their flat, polished surfaces offer excellent support for hammering, ensuring consistent results. Additionally, peening anvils are versatile, enabling the creation of intricate details and tight curves in metalwork. Their compact size makes them suitable for smaller workshops and on-the-go projects. Overall, a peening anvil enhances the quality and precision of metalwork, making it a valuable tool for artisans and craftsmen.

I love this Idea, and probably gonna "borrow' the concept for myself. But I would fill the cavity the head sits in with epoxy( in proper Pours) to both glue and provide shock resistance.

When you buy boiled linseed oil it has solvent in it but if you boil it to 170degrees the water evaporates but do it out side 🤠
