Thanks for the tip. As you can see, the install worked perfectly even without the axle being removed completely and i'm not sure what you mean by "remote the idler and pulley from one end."
Thanks for the (very loud) constructive criticism. In the case of the FAAC tubular motor is it NOT required to even worry about the cabling/power colours and directions. These motors will always have the UP button or UP and the DOWN button for DOWN once the programming is complete. Please do not use this video to tell your customers how to do tubular motorisatio as it is a bit wrong for the US market. (as you have pointed out) We do not have a usable red wire on these motors at all.
Great video! I bought a motor off Ebay but I am stuck at 2:11 because my shutter doesn't have the telescopic plug end. Just a steel plug end that doesn't push in far enough. I think I will have to remove the whole shutter :(
Hi sir i went through your video , very explanatory , i also leave in Australia and i want to convert manual to remote controlled motor , what motor is the most appropriate to use ? So many different ones whitch one is the right one?
what is the reference to the rivet , i ask because i am replacing a motor and the new motor is smaller in length and it doesnt seem to be turning the shutter at all after i installed it, i think it has something to do with the rivet?
First of all great video, thanks for posting it. Just some, questions. I am struggling to find someone who will supply me the FAAC motors and a remote kit. I live in Newcastle NSW could you perhaps recommend a supplier or even someone local to install and fit? Thanks
They are sold mainly into Victoria at present. I don’t know of any local Newie shutter guys that use Faac. Sorry. Not even sure of any shutter guys up that way. Try calling Alpha Tubular motors and ask for a guy in your area. Speak to Simon. He can help you.
It seems as though you are telling your customers about your product using this video, is this correct? Where is the link, I would LOVE to see your website. I'm in Australia and I've been in the tubular motor industry for 12 years and I'm only 30.
Hey mate my roller shutters actually into into the eaves so you cant actually see the box or shutters when its done. How would you adjust the motor to the steel bracket in the situation?
Sorry for the late response. I would check out my other video on how to adjust limits (if you have yet to fix it) ua-cam.com/video/_ZSkFYcy9ZE/v-deo.html
Adding the plug comes after install. (this job had the plugs added under the floorboards in the dark - so we could not show that part, sorry. No motor comes with a 240/120v plug as they are sold internationally. Additionally, if they did have a plug, we would have to cut the plug off so we could poke the cable through a small hole to feed the cable to the power. If we left the plug on there, we would have to cut HUGE holes in houses or hooding to fit them through. 😉
Depending on your location you can google “buy tubular motor for shutter” or “roller shutter repair” and ask anyone who sells them if they will supply you. If you’re in Australia, contact Shade Select and they can sell you motors as required.
There are several motors (FAAC, Dooya, SIMU) have motors with in-built sensors for obstruction/obstacle detection in a downward movement. It was designed for snowy or icy areas as ice and snow can cause shutter failure.

見到精美的設計是令我大開眼界。要接受高科技的增進的首要是強化外語能力。
Thanks for your kind words.
My foreign language skills are ok but as UA-cam is mainly English based, I leave my videos in the mail language.
Planning to do this to my own place soon, (qualified electrician but never installed a roller shutter motor)
Was wondering where you get your motors?
wow this is a top notch tutorial!
Good job! Thanks for sharing the video.

Hello! I was wondering what type of plug do you plug these into, is it just a standard electrical socket?
Yes. That’s correct. Permanent power. 220-240v or whatever your needs.
Brilliant video, thank you
Very good
Shutter Components Australia are the Distributers and can help you.
Where did you buy the FAAC motor? I need to replace the exact same one. I'm in Melbourne

Interesting that there isn't a power plug connection at the motor.

How can I get tubular motors. I am from nepal
Contact FAAC international site. They will send you to nearest supplier. Possibly India. Goodluck.
which type of sensor (child safety) can be used?

Many places sell them. Ask your local shutter supplier and if they don't know about it, try the next one.
Search Google for Roller Shutter in your local area. (sorry for the late reply.) I hope you have found what you were looking for.
