Rhino Mustang Counter

Really fun game, thanks for showing us !
If i can suggest something, i would say the Oil would help you a lot on game like that.
Even more before you put fire in stormcaller.
Oil + stormcaller is crazy vs agressive strat 🎉
Also he have nothing to cover his two towers 😅 One or two crawler would take it and the round very easily :p
There were tower health upgrades, so those crawlers would have been a dead investment
@@idlecub Oh thx for pointing it. Crawler can't fall an upgrade tower in a decent timing ?
I must confess i never try it.
If it's the case it's interresting to know.
Then you could maybe steelball to take the undefending tower ?
Anyways the oil + stormcaller is still gold vs rush :)
@Idle cub
I think Stormcallers with HE is slept on. Asian players seem to go for this a lot more often. I think because stormcallers with Fire often end up doing just as much damage to yourself and your chaff as to the opponent. Sometimes even more to yourself. HE get's around that.
I've played with it quite a lot and it's really effective. Especially if you level your callers once or twice. It's a ground unit pack clearer.
Yeah, I wanted to test it out myself, but I have just gotten used to fire so much that I can't stop xD I have also seen a lot of Asian players use it and I need to try
On round 4 is there a reason you opted not to spend your last 50 upgrading an Arclight, and not upgrading your arcs in general that round? I always feel like arclight levels especially against level 2 elite chaff already opens up your choices later in the game a lot
nope, no good reason. would have been the correct play here 👍
That was a real Grind!
I feel like going for one crawler flank would have helped you, it forces them to put extra units in the back and you can sell them as well. But gg, such a fun game.
absolutely amazing game, my monkey brain kept thinking "go carry arclights" before remembering that you said you don't have armor upgrade tech.
I swear I went through that cycle about 4 times during the video lol.
You should try, getting the perk at the tower that allows for level 2 unit recruitment then getting overlords with armour. It works so well! Makes mustangs useless! Then after just recruit more lvl 1 overlords with mothership to stop melting points countering. Thanks for all the videos I really enjoy them
Opponent buys a couple of EMP snipers and all credits invested in oberlords go to waste.
Really good counter, will try it!
I feel like their mustangs were so high level than it wouldn' t be as good. Especially considering the cost. Having 2 overlords + tech + unlock would be the cost of 5 rhinos.
lvl 2 armor is no where near enough to counter level 4+ mustangs with AP, armor takes away maybe 30% of their damage. Red also had some mustangs with firepower control system which would just melt an overlord
@@TheCoolCucumber if you invest in overlord with tech that early, you are definitely losing. Opponent might just go Phoenix and gg
I think armor on tanks is a better place for armor.. keep arcs in the dmg / utility department
Archlights with range would have really helped you against the mustangs
I see. You countered his self destruct rhino with the MAD defense. I don't actually play this game, but it seems to me that rhino with self destruct might be a great answer to people who deploy super far up like that. Am I wrong?
When facing such an aggro strat, you should try at least once to go reload on the stormies first :D those extra shots can land a few lucky hits.
Was the Improved overlord at ~level 6 not tempting in the slightest?
It would have made it more expensive. You only want to get unit upgrades like that after you have those units on the field.
Any reason for the zero flanks. When the airdrop rhino was being so effective?
opponent had tower health upgrades and I would have needed to invest significantly in the flanks to get the tower at a meaningfully quick pace that would have changed the outcome of a round.
did not feel like I had the resources to do that since I was barely holding on defending with full invests on my side.
@@idlecub that makes sense. Just seemed sooo open, maybe that's a trap? I would have fallen for. But I've seen you do wonders with like 1 pack of level 1 phoenix and movement becon.
they actually just fly by and not kill the tower when the tower has the health upgrade :D tower health upgrade is so good for aggro players for that very reason
@@DatCoMm101 I would have as well :) lvl 2 crawler on the flank, just to force a reaction and win a round. Then you sell them and go for the other flank.
Thought you didn't like vertical storms anymore because of the way it interacts with the fire upgrade?
I prefer it vs aggro, at least the 2 next to the tower.
Warfactory in last round was a mistake, may be if he had coating tech from boats its ended well for him... Looks like he just forgot about yours emp mustangs
: )
Do you guys get the weird 'units snapping to your cursor' bug after the recent patch?
yes! I think when I am unlocking a new unit it will select and snap the most recently placed unit to the cursor. very annoying 😅
@@idlecub made me misplace units a couple of times
Round 7 you bought the extra deployment(going up to 4 units) but already had the 3 unit card, and you only bought 3 units anyway
yeah, I messed up the math in my head and was actually 50 short of buying the 4th unit. that was bad :
why no hackers to deal with rhinos ?
hackers are not good to deal with leveled rhinos with photon coating and self destruct. it is already unlikely that they would actually get some hacks in and even if they did, the rhinos would just explode anyway. on top of that, the second hackers do not work perfectly it is such a big dead investment and is basically an instant throw usually.
@@idlecub yeah, you did well answering with front rhinos, perfect answer.
@@Dandyphonic The best answer to rhinos... is rhinos.
why never backdoor? for fun?
Kind of a missplay from your oponnent, he had balls, would he have gotten hackers (level 1 would be enough) he could steal all your rhinos 100%.
I was hoping for you to flank as his whole back was wide open 😀
opponent had tower health upgrades and I would have needed to invest significantly in the flanks to get the tower at a meaningfully quick pace that would have changed the outcome of a round.
did not feel like I had the resources to do that since I was barely holding on defending with full invests on my side.
@@idlecub did not notice, sorry.
@@prof1811 all good, I did not notice for the longest time either, because nobody ever used it :D now it has gotten somewhat common though for aggressive players to defend like that so I started to pay more attention
However it's still very vulnerable to steelball flank Nop ? When they are charge a tower even level 3 will fall fast i think.
It's not a critique or something like that of course because thinking of everything is really easier when watching than playing !
@@moi-44 I was actually thinking about doing a steel ball flank as well at some point but then put it off for "later" and never actually did it lol. So yeah, that could have worked for a round for sure!
