    I really liked the close up of the bench, no other channel goes into this much detail.

      It's really important to make sure you have a decent working surface. Lmao
      Also, my camera work and video editing has improved tenfold since this video.

      I don't care, I'm subscribed and watching them all from now on. I've been watching shovelhead videos from here in the shit uk where the only good thing is my old shovel. Keep shit funny coz that's where it's at... Great work in its original form.. nearly choked and spat my tea all over my screen because of you.

      @@DrVlok im glad you enjoyed it! Videos are sparse at the moment. I have a lot of parts out getting work done, heads ported and polished, Triple trees getting shaves, and so on. I will get back to weekly posts once I start getting parts back.

    What about old school side of road technique? Set points gap on the firing lobe, set plate in the middle or to a spot u can get the bike started, advance until you hear ping back off very slowly until ping goes away call it good.

    • @DWchopshop
      @DWchopshop  Рік тому +2

      I've always had more of a do it right the first time so your not sitting on the side of the road mindset.

    78 Shovel kick and button, what do like for ignition, Dyna S? Rawhide isnt available so it appears. You make informative videos.

      adjusted your pushrods?

    • @DWchopshop
      @DWchopshop  Рік тому +1

      What kind of ignition does the bike have? James has a good point with the pushrods, that can definitely make for hard starting. I would recheck static and mechanical timing too.

    So tdc compression stroke on front cylinder.
    Then adjust the gap on the points.
    Then with test light lock plate right before it lights up.
    Thats it ? How do you know if you need to go clockwise or counter with the plate during the test light step ?

    • @DWchopshop
      @DWchopshop  Рік тому +1

      Advance the weights to fully open (twist the middle peice)
      Then test with a light and pock Plate before it lights.
      Normally, you put the plate on so you can rotate it clockwise to set timing.

      Show me a points ignition that doesn't need to be touched for hundreds of thousands of miles. Any modern electronic ignition is leaps and bounds better than points.

    Points are reliable. Anyone with a Shovelhead knows that electronics belongs on a Tesla.
