Thanks so much! I'm glad you likes the video! But yeah, the rhythmic delay thing is fantastic. I use Valhalla Delay for most of my "every day" kinda delay needs, but there are some things, like the rhythm stuff, that nothing else but Echoboy can do!
shit, i didnt know we can drag the taps around in rhythm mode. should mention the pan shapes… gold buried in there. especially when used as thickeners and spreaders for synth layers
good ideas - but the video doesn't make sense. When he's workikng on the guitar around 8 minutes, the only track in solo mode, there are no plugins on that track, and he says nothing about where the plugin is actually installed, like WHICH BUS? - So, I like the ideas he's putting out, but it's a lousy tutorial.
If you look closely and are familiar with Pro Tools, you can see that EchoBoy is the last insert on the "Clean Gtr" bus two tracks to the right of the solo'd track. I wouldn't really expect anyone to bother paying close enough attention to notice that, but I also didn't really think it mattered. You can hear that the guitar is going through it, and since it's a video on uses for a plugin and not on routing inside of Pro Tools, I didn't think it'd make much of a difference. But I appreciate you taking the time to watch anyway and hope you still got something useful out of the video!
I hate it, ive been playing around with echoANNOYED and im ANNOYED, I. had it with their plugins, I paid out the A55 for this cr@p, echoboy is so out dated, ok the sound is nice but come one, no repeat control levels? no main in out control?, you really have to sit there on a bus and tweak the dry wet knob and pray whatever goes to the echoboyed bus is heard loud enough or that the bus is loud enough, its insanity how much this plugin costs., look at delay controls like guitar pedals or even PCM 90s, there is a freaken repeat VOLUME KNOB!!!!!! what is wrong with Soundtoys!
@@BetterMixes and what does the in and out (for saturation) have to do with keeping the repeated notes from fading out in highr number of db then any other normal echo plug or hardware on the planet? when i set the dam thing to give me 5 repeats using feedback, each one fades more then half db, normal its 1/4th, so turning it up only means the first and maybe second will be louder then the input itself= distortion.. i used a compressor to atleast get those levels even..which is obsoletely outrageous for the price and sound…i debated on buying this plug so long now, i got the decapitator and love it…I expected more from echoboy then a just a basic poor mans echoeplex fuz
@@mikehunt576 Ah, now I think I understand what you mean. But try setting it to rhythm echo mode. Then you can have your 5 repeats fade out exactly how you want, or have them stay the same level or fade up instead of down or whatever. It could be a little bit easier to use this mode, but it's one of only 2 delays I can think of off the top of my head that has this feature (the Fabfilter delay being the other). When you said that even guitar pedals have this feature...I own probably 6 delay pedals (I really like delay...) and I don't think any of them have this feature (maybe the TC Flashback can in the editor software, but not on the pedal itself). If you really want to tweak the exact levels of each delay tap (and if you don't like the rhythm echo mode in EchoBoy), I'd recommend the FabFilter one, but it doesn't seem fair to hate on EchoBoy for not having this feature when 1) it does, and 2) very few delays do (if I'm understanding the feature you're looking for correctly).
I think we can safely say you'll be just fine
This video just solidified my purchase of this plugin! Thank you for the demonstration and the song was well done also!
Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked the video. You're gonna have a lot of fun with Echoboy! It's such a cool plugin.
That rhythm echo function sounds really interesting! As well as the Chorus - Saturation mix. I’ll be checking it out for sure!
this channel is pure gold
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you think so!
Thanks for this! Can’t wait to get the STs bundle!!
I'm glad you liked it! And keep an eye out, I've got another soundtoys video coming soon!
Amazing video
Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it!
The last one sounds great, creative! 👍
Thank you. Very informative.
No problem! I'm glad you found it helpful!
Cool ideas. Thanks!
Well explained and clear vid, thanks! ^^

Sweet man cool video! 🤟😎👍

Okay, i never knew it had all those saturators! I'm definitely gonna get this one now! 😊
Yeah, the SoundToys stuff goes deep when you dig into all the advanced settings. There are so many cool and unusual uses for all their stuff!
@@BetterMixes I was debating on getting decapitator. I use delay a lot but I've been wanting a saturation plugin. This plugin has both and more.
Excellent content!
Did you use real drums or VST ? Thanks 🤟🏼🤟🏼sounds awesome !
These are real drums. I'm glad you like the sound of them!
Thank you so much! 🔥
No problem! Glad you liked the video!
Can the delay effect only be panned right or left?

You know what else is neat? Colour coding all that gun metal grey away, with the colour box.
