    I'm wondering, if you inject without aspirating first, is there any damage you can cause? The needle being for IM injection, the most than can happen after my logic is to hit a capillary.

    5:04 After you injected the med i assumed you were engaging a safety mechanism. But if I’m seeing correctly, you’re actually pulling only the syringe away and leaving the needle in his arm?

    I got a vaccine Wednesday afternoon .It was the most painful I have ever had.She put the needle in slightly then she jammed it deeper.My arm ,shoulde,r up my neck into the shoulder blade hurt so bad with burning and shock pain. Then she injected the vaccine so fast it burned even more. I am wondering if she went too deep and hit a nerve. I have never had pain with a shot ever before. They always feel like a little pin prick to me. It is 2 days later and still hurting in the same areas.

    • @Rico24337
      @Rico24337 Рік тому

      Definitely hit a nerve. I've been self-injecting testosterone for some years now and I have hit the nerve you're speaking of a handful of times. No real damage to worry about most the time, but I agree it's not fun at all when it happens.

    Good day, i have a few questions. Is it okay that half of the needle of 3cc syringe will be injected? Will it still be effective? Thank you.

    I was waiting for you to discuss aspirating to prevent injections intravenously. It is mind boggling that aspiration is not a routine practice. Where is the research on when something that is indicated IM now injected as IV. Considering vaccine injuries and reactions to the substance would you not want to be administered the way it is actually intended ?

    Dude, those were THICK needles! Most people on trt use 25 gauge 1.5 inch needles. IM with an 18 gauge???? WOW. Usually an 18 gauge is only to draw from a vial, then swap it out for injection.

    how is aspirating harmful

    • @DeeAnnaKim
      @DeeAnnaKim 2 місяці тому

      When done correctly it is actually reassuring that it is not being administered IV. Something that people have reactions to and is not intended for IV injection it is mind boggling that aspiration is not part of it.

      What research do you have on IV admiration of flu shot. It is intended IM not IV. Once you are in a flesh what proof besides aspiration do you have that it is administered correctly as intended IM.

  • @greggillespie3977
    @greggillespie3977 2 роки тому +9

    If it is not important to draw syringe back to check for blood than you wont know if you are in the blood stream. Thus,Basically its ok to inject into arteries and blood vessels.

    • @nursingandnclexmastery
      @nursingandnclexmastery  2 роки тому +9

      Aspiration before IM injections is not recommended if no large blood vessels are present in injection site, such as the deltoid muscle used in this video.

      CDC guidelines you can use gloves or no gloves. However, you have to wash your hands in between each patient. The reason for no gloves is because there is no soiling with secretions/blood.

    LOL, I haven't had any kind of shot in nearly 30 years. My wife is riding my ass about it, so I'm probably going to get a tetanus booster next doctor visit. And I am dreading it. It's been so long, I almost forgot what a shot feels like. I've been told our nurse is super good with shots, so maybe she won't kill me.

    • @Lex5576
      @Lex5576 2 роки тому +4

      @@sergiocartagena74 Yes, and would you know I didn't feel a thing. Literally, all I felt was the girl pinching up the flesh on my arm where she was about to jab me, and nothing. No sting, no burn, not so much as a pinprick. Those needles must be so damn sharp that they penetrate the muscle like it's hot butter. I was barely sore the next day and that's all.

    • @Xeniana
      @Xeniana 2 роки тому +1

      @@RR-lv6xs I see what you’re saying, it does look kind of quickly inserted. However, it is best to puncture it fast because if you do it too slow it hurts more. This is why people who have been stabbed or shot don’t feel it right away because it is too fast for the nerves to react. Hope that helps!
