  • Here is an easy tutorial for sewing a jar bonnet or bowl cover. These cute little bonnets can easily be customized to meet your needs. They make great jar toppers for gifting homemade canned goods, simple to use caps for home fermenting, handy covers for bowls when making bread, etc... They are so fun to make, I bet you won't be able to make just one!

Thank you for this easy see method to make jar bonnets. I’m not an expert sewer so I appreciate the ease of the process.

Thank you! I'm glad you like this project! It is really easy and addicting. I'm making some mixes in jars for holiday gifts and I'm making the bonnets in holiday fabrics. They are so cute! Enjoy!!😊

Why in the world did you not make an opening for your elastic casing instead of ripping through the fabric with your seam ripper?

This is suppose to be an easy, beginner-friendly sewing project. I like to make jar toppers quickly and not stress out about perfection. I find that leaving the circles open is a hassle and the stitching when closing them up doesn't look as nice. If the opening bothers you, like I said in the video you can alway do two or three whip stitches to close it up. If you have an easy, beginner-friendly way that you make yours, I'd love to see your tutorial on your channel. 😊 Thanks.
