    Marape must withdraw his statement that Grand Chief Somare bring nothing to this Nation PNG and who brought Independence? Marape brought Independence? You Marape must apologise to the people of PNG particularly Sepik and late Grand Chief Family in your statement addressing the UPNG Students.

I also thank you, for the loan schem for us that are unfortunate ones, and aslo you vision in improving the TESAS Scholarship. Finally, Credit to the SRC in UPNG for raising this conscerns, I am comenting as a Student for Divine Word University.

    very down to earth presentation of your speech,injecting the drive of nationalism and spirit of 'wan kantri 'on the eve of the golden jubilee independence.
    mixing the both national languages and throwing in success stories of indigenous citizens was definitely an impetus for the young elites to rise up to the challenge to make their mark.
    thank you mr.prime minister...

    Mr. Marape does not have knowledge of economic reform. Let alone building forex.
    How can you spend money when you haven't made incentives to raise the money you want to spend?
    You are a wolf in sheep's clothing.

    The source of his data is not independent. The Treasury department is influenced by the government of the day and thus data from Treasury is not reliable. This fact renders his analysis and presentation to be highly likely to be biased. Also it would be good to show questions from the audience. I wonder if the students can ask some key relevant questions in relation to the source of data to provide some degree of clarity. Otherwise, just dance to the Marape music.

    • @Plesprince
      @Plesprince 5 днів тому +1

      What independent source would you prefer be interpreted? Name the source.This is an issue facing our citizens now, in that people are just ignorant and / or uninformed, forming their opinions from what is presented through media. The students here are also in the same boat. Name a readily available public source so we can compare data as you said. If not, be neutral and compare, and not bash the pm. I can not recall any former pm making such an effort to address students on numerous occasions in a forum such as this

    Have some respect and count all the things our fore fathers have done with little money. Now we have alot of money and very little is achieved to date. Economy is rolling backwards

    How about the high unemployment rate? Please PM create more jobs by relaxing tax returns on investors, we have to start manufacturing our own natural resources and export to earn money, look into building factories, growing rice, mushrooms etc..we are well off but are undermined.

    PM good speech but one thing I want to high light why we are slow in development is because past governments have traveled and did things out side of the set rail track. This country has culturerised modern ways of doing things with PNG or Melanesian ways of doing things. Example, allocation of government positions are not done on performance, merit and qualification but politics and wantok system. PM you are a good leader, while doing your job as CEO of the country you please use your power to break that bond highlighted above that continues to rubbish this nation. Many people on positions with authority very well know this but continue to be naive, enjoy fat salaries with previlenges pretend nothing bad is happening.

    PM JM talked about inflation but please to layman's understanding talk how about you plan to reduce the price of goods and service. Since 2019 the prices are increasing every year. Do a graph for the price of tin fish or rice since 1960 to 2024 and tell us if there is any reduction even though the economy is growing as you claim under your leadership. Nothing seems to materialize even your tax incentiive, school fee subsidy, etc,...nogat ha...wanem taim bai price blong tinpis na rice go down real time???? We cannot continue living like this. Nothing to celebrate after 49 years.
