I always think that renal disease is very hard to study and every time I put this topic as an options, but I feel overwhelmed. However, I have to say that I found your video and I really like it. The way you explain a the content is clear and precise. Thank you so much.
Can you explain why AKI causes hyperkalemia? I understand that the kidneys are not filtering the potassium out, but wouldn’t the excess fluid cause dilutional hypokalemia like it causes dilutional hyponatremia??
I’m not Cathy, but I would say due to the electrolyte imbalance causing hyperkalemia (high potassium, cause of dysrhythmias) you would attempt to decrease the intake.
