The real tribe/community name was Khambu but during the shah dynasty, the shah kings gave the rai title and that really affect because alot of us just were obsessed with the title meaning instead of real and original name that is Khambu.
rai was in khas language.

Most of the time in history people has married within own caste. So,may be they prohibited to marry lower caste or other caste .

There is no practice of higher and lower caste the bahun/chettri were the one who made the high and low caste and they even practiced untouchability practices.
