    Thanks for that well presented illustration. It'll take some doing to learn that whip finish...... is it not a series of half-hitch knots? So I'm trying to figure out the best marabou for these smallmouth jigs - I have seen a bunch that are bigger in profile (puffier, & maybe extends a little further out from the hook bend than yours, as nice as yours are. I'm looking at one that says Hareline Extra Select Strung IMITATION Marabou feathers, and from a different place their's goes by Extra Select Strung Marabou, with mention of the word IMITATION. When I initially inquired, they said the marabou feathers they carry are natural, and come from a turkey. Would you be able to shed any light on this? I was planning on picking off bunches from the middle spine and do not plan on tying in any of the spines, large or small. But I can't say that I know what I'm doing...yet!

      i am honestly not sure of the difference between "imitation" and the actual stuff lol, not sure what material it is made of
