The Scarab part took me longer than entire T&R in CE LASO
Same here, it would not get into position for me to jump on. I actually had to jump off that platform and head back to the first platform. The scarab would get close enough to that one. I would still take the time from the first platform with the sniper/br to thin out all of the grunts though.

I've been betrayed by the marines on the rocket pods at least 10 times now. why is the AI in halo so stupid? I'm getting flashbacks to escorting captain keys in the Truth and Reconciliation mission.
Small correction for 13:35, it's a crate of Assault Rifle ammo with a BR on the ground. Though with how much BR ammo is in the upcoming rooms it isn't a real issue. These guides have been great for my laso run, looking forward to the rest!
For anyone attempting this now, AT THE SCARAB PART USE THE RIGHT CRANE INSTEAD OF THE LEFT! I tried the strat in the video, with the left crane, for about 2 hours then I tried to right crane and I was able to jump on it every single time from there.

The scarab alone took me an hour and fifteen minutes, so painful. The only thing that helped was another comment I saw on this video that suggested to go over to the other lift for the other crane and give that jump a try as well, worked for me second try. These guides are the only reason I'm getting my LASO's completed, about halfway done with Halo 3, then I got the rest to do. Amazing work, clear and concise guides, keep it up!

You can also double plasma pistol charge the aa gun from a distance at the end

about that construction worker that arbiter bullseyed with the rocket...... the splash damage killed another worker in a blue shirt with the splash damage. you can see his body ragdolling in the smoke. lmao.

After 2 hours I gave up on the left crane. Had more luck on the right crane and was able to finally jump off. heavy RNG on the scarab movement.
There is a room up to the left as you enter that has a BR and 2 nades in it👍👍👍
Your marines must have been more competent than mine. Each time I got onto the scarab, they were intent on killing me with missiles.

We weren't able to skip the Scarab, but my partner took it down easy enough while I tried to distract the enemy with grenades so he could escape. Don't think I helped much for that bit, but once we got to the warehouse we ran into a bit of trouble with the hunters. But after sniping a few grunts we were able to use that last skip over the fence to escape and finish the level. He ran over while I kept the attention of the hunters. He used a bubble to protect himself up top and got over. Then I got teleported after a short while and to be safe I stayed over while he jumped to the other side, took out the AA gun and went back to load in the enemies and finish the level.
For the most part not too bad. Took an hour and thirty minutes.
Like 5 of my marines were still alive on the first part. Like they went grenade crazy. It’s just wild.

This was a mixed bag in terms of difficulty, we didn't really have a problem until the War Chieftain with the plasma cannon, he pushed forward a lot for some reason, nearly got caught in a death loop after some unfortunate checkpoints, but I was able to duck into cover and slip past the makeshift barricades, just before the rocket marines, never did the Scarab skip either, instead I stayed below with one player, while my other buddy jumped on the Scarab from the crane, we attempted to cover with missile pods, but it didn't seem necessary, the Scarabs secondary gun normally destroyed the pods anyway, and one time it was a marine who tried smacking a nearby crate, only to murder the missile pod instead lmao
But once the scarab was down, it was on to the warehouse section, even without the invincible rocket Arby it was still doable, just blood, sweat and a lot of noob combos lol, the hunters were a slight pain, but after many deaths we got past them, a rocket marine chipped in also, until he fired point-blank at a group of warehouse workers, killing both them and himself, one of the most memorable moments in this run for sure, we missed the grav lift from earlier, so we just tackled the rest of the mission the old-fashioned way, took out the AA gun and the Storm was finally over!!

After killing the scarab, the pelican carrying Arbiter got stuck in a weird animation in the sky and won’t move forward lol. I can’t believe this is happening 😂
so did anyone else notice that the scarab section isnt timed...you need to take out the AA wraiths before the scarab will spawn..
I don't know if I just got super unlucky RNG-wise, but either my marines on the rocket turret or the scarab jolting back and causing me to miss it has kept me at the middle part of this mission for about an hour or so now :P
Same I’m stuck at that part
Got a checkpoint right after the section where you swapped your plasma pistol for a rocket launcher, except somehow a marine got in my way and I ended up swapping for his magnum, so I had to do a quick reverse to grab rockets instead as I didn't want to have to restart the mission. 30/46
Somehow I got a checkpoint on the scarab lmao made it super easy
Silver: You can go up this elevator before the scarab fight to hide

For those like me who decided to say fuck it and skip the scarab fight with the mongoose clip, the warehouse after can be a pain but here's what I did without the Arbiter to help me:
jump up on the crate and into the window as silver does, then keep jumping as you go straight ahead.
Down below and to the north, you'll see a bunch of groups come through the arch, rocket them and hide behind the container below on your right until you hear them deaggro (even better if you hear they're near where you came from), then make a run for the next area and hide to the right for a minute or two as far tucked away as you can.
This will put every brute in the warehouse into the previous area, now simply peek round the corner of the containers until you see the brutes have their backs to you, now run to the left side of the room you're in and navigate to the next area with the hunters, you should hit a checkpoint.
From here all I did was bum rush to the sniper room, headshot as many grunts with the BR as I could, and rocket spammed the two carbine brutes (they melt you otherwise). The Chieftain will run away, and the Hunters will stay aggroed to the workers, leaving you free to do the fence skip and from there the mission is free.
i had a miserable time after the scarab fight since i didn’t have the arbiter with me and i only had 4 measly workers that kept blowing me up with the rocket launcher and once, the final brute stuck me with a spike grenade so that sucked but i somehow did it
I have been waiting for 10 mins and the scarab still has not spawned...
Ok for those who are stuck in the scarab part just wait 1 minute on the scarab it the scarab does not get close go down and shoot some missles then when it starts shooting at u go to the other elevator closer to the master chief boat the scarab should change there and u can make the jump (i did ut with a ghost since sometimes the scarab leaves u when ur jumping) hope this helps with all of u ppl
Unverified tip for the Scarab section. before the scarab gets to the lake bed you get into the hallway to the next section and get a double checkpoint in there and it deloads the enemies on the scarab. got it by accident while pathetically trying to speedrun it.

Arbiter spawned but he stayed outside and I had to restart the mission...
this mission was bugged in my run, first the marines never entered in the first room and the brutes were inmune to headshots and assasinations
I would have loved it if you had cut to a different run where you explain how to skip the scarab for those of us in co-op
For those of you curious,
1) get mongoose through the soft barrier at the end of the cat walk (dismount with momentum. Should roll in. Can melee to get it all the way in)
2) line it up with the door at the end so that you're kind of in the left corner, with your front left wheel kind of in the corner of the door
3) dismount, and hopefully go through the door. Good news, this will immediately warp your team mates, so once you get to this spot, only one of you needs to do it, and the rest can just hide. It's not too hard...took me about 10 tries I'd say.
To add if you're doing that clip, you need to wait till the scarab loads in the previous section and a marine says "What's that sound?"
If you proceed after the clip before the marine says that line, the game will softlock. So wait till the marine says that before entering the cortana moment

is it better for arbiter to have human or covenant rocket launcher ?
the human one's projectiles move faster and don't drop off, so probably the human one. Clip size doesn't matter as the AIs have bottomless clips
The scarab only moves in circles or doesnt move at all. Do you have any other solutions?
Ok, so i've come up with another solution for this. Basically you need to find a rocket marine and a mongoose (if there are any left, which there should be). Then, drive them to the top of the crane and just wait until marine disables one of scarabs legs, after that you should be able to climb up and do the rest of what Silver says. Also make sure that there aren't any grunts left.
I just finished this part after 2h of attempts. What I did was get a ghost up there (had one just sitting around), then lure the scared by peeking out the left side of the elevator crane thing. Eventually after moving and peeking from different parts of the left bridge i would get him to move closer. Then I boosted w the ghost off and onto the scarab.
Hmmm the scarab keeps fleeing from me when I try to jump onto it when it's on the left
Finally got it! Had to just take it slow and used the right crane instead of left
Also the gate jump is easy I the grav lift is not necessary if you dont have it/already used it

Don’t know if you sorted it but no you shouldn’t, I followed his guide exactly and waited around 3 mins and it spawned in
That happened to me too. I think the ai killed too many enemies or not enough because it made me go through and finish the AA wraith off then spawned it in
I never understood how you aim so good. Do you have a piece of tape on your tv?
I equip a sniper in forge or something and put a tiny piece of bluetac right in the centre of the reticle, and use that to aim
I just select a map that has a sniper rifle in it pick it up then make my fake reticle
another method i have found that is slower and worse is to press esc, your mouse pointer will be in the center on the screen and therefore function as a makeshift reticle, only really find it useful for sniping though

I tried a little piece of tape once and found that it just obscured my view, so I've just been playing without it ever since with little trouble. Try a lower difficulty with the blind skull on and you'll just get used to putting your eyes in the right place without even thinking about it. the only time I ever have trouble is if I'm trying to use a sniper rifle from a great distance. I prefer sniping with the battle-rifle anyway.

Getting on the scarab is an absolute pain with the reconfigured AI. It simply will not get in the right position to jump to it. I highly recommend using the grav-lift trick and just doing the ending differently (the non-grav lift jump isn't that hard).
i did it within 10 attempts, it’s pretty rng based with the ai but having the grav lift for the end just makes it much easier with the limited ammo at that point.
Okay so I've waited like 5 minutes straight on that crane and scarab hasnt appeared yet, I hope its not cause I killed a couple of grunts on ghosts from up there
All of the AA wraiths need to be destroyed, I waited around for a while too. I used the rocket launcher to destroy the remaining one from the tower since all the marines were dead

Destroy the AA wraiths. Grab a missile and use it on the top floor/bridge.
Happened to me as well. The marines died and did not kill the wraith and ghosts. Had to try myself and died, they managed to succeed the 2nd time
I completed this with no Marine casualties. Just kick them out of the Warthog and drive away.
I accidentally killed myself trying to kill the Arbiter. I hit him 5 times then went for the headshot......I had my Rockets out lol
Last but not least, I had to take out the Hunters myself. Arbiter refused to fire at them for some reason. Just sat there as hunters attacked him.

i was in the jetpack brutes part, i was in the top part of the map, i was preparing a plasma shot and... I used the hammer... and fell down because I actually panicked a bit.

This one completed randomly for me when I went to play it. I went to resume playlist, on the choose playlist area it had tsavo listed as the next mission to be played, but then on the start screen after hitting resume it said the storm. On loading it played tsavos ending cutscene where miranda talks to hood, then went to black and said the mission was complete. It loaded floodgate and now says 5/11 so free mission for me pog, not quite sure if you could replicate it cause i have no idea why it showed tsavo as incomplete for a second. If anyone does lmk, pretty curious

He grabs it when he’s fighting the scarab. It’s in a room near the elevator on the bottom floor.
Its behind the missile pods that face out across the battlefield where the scarab lands.

there are no checkpoints on laso :)
It still gives checkpoints if the Iron skull is on and you can bypass it by pausing and save quitting as soon as you die making the iron skull useless
