As a therapist I think you need to seek a sports psychologist rather than a chess coach. The amount of times you get crushing or at the very least comfortably better positions against these legendary players is staggering. No criticism here I just think you need to shift you mindset to excitement to play these guys rather than fear. It’s the only thing holding you back you’re right there.
Having à better position doesnt mean anything in chess, also these legendary top players generally volontarily play inferior positions against weaker opponents to beat them...
@@-erebor-2361wdym it means nothing? Thats the whole goal of the game. I dont think these players are volunteering to worse positions in a prize money tournament

This worked for me, maybe it might for Levy. When I used to compete in games (not chess), I had manuly losses attributed to tilting while I still had an out, or even just letting negativity getting the most of me. My opponents, while winning, still made mistakes, and my negativity alone kept me from being able to capitalize on them. I unknowingly 'unlocked' the ability to block all negativity, after a few wins while outmatched. I started putting myself in almost "toxic positivity" or at least seeing the silver lining from all games. My win rate started skyrocketing. I'd later learn there's a 2,000+ year old term for what I had practiced: stoicism. I had unintentionally started practicing some of the tenets of stoic philisophy. I bet my kid's first cgess set that if Levy heard a few "stoicism explained in 5 minutes" podcasts, and decided to make the best of any situation, even at a "toxic" level, that his nervousbess problem will all but disappear. This is all easy for me to say when I don't have a media career hitting the stratosphere, where each of my games are analyzed publicly. But I'm convinced this will help him get over his main opponent: his own negativity.
It’s actually good that he just completely changed…like if this was before “Road to GM” he would’ve smack the mouse on his head like he used to and the end of the video will end in a 18 duck sound so it is a progress…
Levy it would be cool to see you do a video with DrK (aka HealthyGamerGG). I feel he would give some valuable insight into mental strategies for staying calm/centered during chess games.
Levy just doesn’t have the desire to win like Danya does. Danya and naka are just dialed into these games. Levy gets really good positions but then just gets overpower at a certain point.
Yes we can. He seems like a relatively bearable office place type who confidently works his way up to the top by looking down on people. That extra level of sarcasm played well for the algorithm. But his performance has at most plateaud and shows no sign of accelerating.
@@LuckyCat-22mmm? He's like a 5/10 my guy. Even his wife called him ugly on stream. Nonetheless, he has physical potential if he takes his looks seriously.
Replace Hess? Nobody can replace Hess. His combination of on-point, relevant commentary with in-depth player and game knowledge combined with his humble and friendly vibe is off the charts. If you really wish to rise above the level of the Hess, you should probably learn how to comment on things more relevant to the game while using the correct terminology. Instead of dialing back any situation to your personal experiences expand on the players experiences in the game. This requires tons of research on the players before their each respective game. I feel like most poorly performing chess commentators either lose the track of commentary on the game and derail, or they start talking about themselves and their own games or they try to insert x amount of jokes every minute. Just be a good commentator focused on that one job and you'll be your best, GLHF.
Yeah, I can see you literally beat yourself, from the vert beginning it looked like you were very hesitant with those moves and almost like you played them slowly on purpose. Of course I know Danya is an incredible player and it's not easy at all. Rooting for you, Levy!
2 months ago I didn’t even know who Hess was. I’ve known who levy is for several years now. Not baggin on Hess, someone I don’t know, but don’t sell yourself short, levy.
Levy and Danya commenting the SCC was perfect. We need more of that
It was a good balance of personalities that you only really get from MMA, Grappling, and Kickboxing matches.
It was good but I think Danya and Hess are still a better duo
we most certainly don't

Kinda, its not volunteering a "worse position", its using asymmetric/unusual lines to create counterplay and create unexpected attacks
It is incredible how they remember their games like this
I truly enjoy Danya's play style. It doesn't look as robotic as Magnus, but it's very attack-oriented. That's my preferred GM to learn from. GG Levy!
