One thing I don’t like about this cinematic: Xal’atath SHOULD know better. She’s watched not only us but also the company we kept. Arrogance should and unnecessary gloating should not be on her cards, she knows how cunning we are. Maybe that’s just the nature of the Void but this is action is careless for a creature who’s been surviving for eons.
it does not seem that the dark heart is destroyed. Most certainly it was just a crack through which some of the consumed energies slip along with Khadgar
Idk that the dark heart is destroyed vs damaged. We see its cracked open and leaked out a lot of the power she had channeled but it didn't explode or anything.
This reminds me of when Genn broke Sylvanas' lantern. Similar story they're rehashing. But hoping that they prove that what she said is true and she still messes us up royally.
This isn't really a good way to analyze a story. In a franchise as long running as WoW you're always gonna be able to find paralells to stuff they've done before. People act like the number of ideas is infinite, and it basically is - but the number of "good" ideas is very finite. There are only so many ideas that actually resonate with people. TLDR: Originality is bad goal
@XavionofThera I think you misunderstood my comment. I'm not stating that rehashing is bad. I'm actually interested in them showing parallels like this, especially since it's the Windrunner sisters. As a writer myself, I understand that nothing is ever original anymore. We're definitely aligned. My last sentence was just to make sure they can deliver on the promise of "This means nothing" and not make it just a corny villain line. Hope that clears things up!
Xalatath once again makes it a point to call us „wrathful“. Allerias „Void“-Arrow goes literally from dark to light / moonlight. It’s giving = Xal is Elune tbh
Lmao, when Xal'atath says "All to fuel the black blood's power. MY power." She might be alluding to the Old God blood she gives to the Nerubians to being her own blood.
Let's just say that Anduin's Theme was a perfect choice for this scene. Xalatath seems to be the embodiment of conflict itself materialized, given how she talked about how she's risen from the ashes of countless of empires.
That's the thing. Xal'alath probably understood that Alleria is aiming at that stuff in her hand and then tried to shield it from the blow, but Alleria predicted where it would be.
I know it's not the direction anyone but me would have wanted it to go, but I really would have loved to see Gazlowe there either with or instead of Anduin so he could have saved the day with goblin jumper cables. Hey Acco. What do you think Xal'atath's endgame and plan is? Because of what we find out in chapter 5(?) of the campaign I think she's trying to make a host body for herself since she isn't an actual old god. What do you think about that?

@@witnessforchrist7778 But... But... What if he is suffering because of Xal'atath? Can you not put him out of his misery? 😭 Why would you let him suffer? Knowing Her direction, she may make him do horrible things to help break him down for her recruitment.
I could be wrong... But *finally* a paladin that actually revives a character. I mean damn has it been annoying when you know in the game they can throw a heal/rez. The dark heart seems like a "energy-space capacitor", from distilling as many of the comments made of it. It's the most 'summarized' way to describe it; it's able to absorb multiple sources of power/energy, space (beings) as well as discharge them with a more amplified force. Also, this makes for a cool (for once lol) moment for Anduin as a return having to face Turalyon; because if before there were doubts - there's a premise that Turalyon has simply just always been blinded by the light but Anduin has potentially more power by calling on enough 'light' that he could revive Khadgar whereas other dude had his sword blocked by Illidan (not that he's weak either - but entertaining an idea is all..).
Idk if Alleria destroyed the dark heart yet, she could have tried to repair it, failing that, if the dark heart is destroyed, she'll probably try to absorb its power....Speculation ofc
I hope "Kadgar" is just Xal'atath inhabiting his form. His explanation seems odd, that his corporeal form would be obliterated by the void, but his arcane form was resistant? It also seem suspicious that the dark heart was not able to withstand a void arrow, but could easily absorb EVERYTHING else! Also convenient that Anduin was able to use the light all of a sudden, just so everyone could have that extra boost of serotonin and feel fully confident that this was a job well done!
@@tzoanast1061 Fair point, but it's still a form of energy. Seems suspiciously remiss of Xal'atath to allow such an important, powerful yet extremely fragile artifact be in such a vulnerable position.
@@witnessforchrist7778 Well, I thought Faerin just showed him the way back. I think she demonstrated that he was still "fundamentally compatible" with the light, as in he could still be a vessel for it. But this was the first time he was able to summon it himself, unless I missed something
@antaresjj at the end of the campaign Anduin and Thrall have a "stay awhile and listen" and they talk about it a bit, and Thrall mentions how his beliefs of feeling "unworthy" because of his past failures to wield the light (and it kind of applies to Thrall for the elements too). I saw it as Anduin overcoming the War Within himself, worthiness vs unworthiness, etc. That's just how I perceived it though.
Im rather disappointed. How long we gonna do the ''bring the strongest evil just to die''. This video took a LOT away from Xalatath's power and what we thought Xalatath is. Kadgar isn't dead, so Xalatath didn't kill him, and that makes Xalatath look weaker. She say convincingly ''goodbye guardian'' just to keep him alive and we save him a patch later by a crack from Alleria's arrow which the previous 100 times, Xalatath vanished to avoid. Even tho Kadgar is a well loved by community character , he should die protecting Alleria and remain dead while we mourne him and I could give 0 f**cks to see Anduin wielding light again to bring him back. I want to see for ONCE in this game a villain to finally win and we try harder than ever to beat and lose a lot of heroes in the process. I know its hard to ''kill'' someone cause u cant bring them back (even though apparently they all come back somehow) Xalatath's plans so far: Brought Nerubians to Dalaran ? We beat em all. Formed stronger ascended nerubians from blood of old gods, we beat em easily. Xalatath vanishes every time Alleria shoots at her, but now she just let her hit the heart which is the most precious thing she has and holds like her baby. The high speaker corrupts the earthen through the engine? Magni saves them all. I mean LET US LOSE SOMETIME , FOR ONCE. As much as I enjoy this expansion and it looks so cool and its a 9/10 as for gameplay and things to do, I give a 2/10 for the story so far. My favourite was always Sylvannas, they did her bad and we had to fight her and she is already forgotten. Xalatath showed amazing promise as a villain, but while she is SO PREPARED by our achievements and fully aware of what we can do, she only see her plans fail EVERY SINGLE TIME. ''Light always wins'' is something I dislike a lot, I don't trust light, I don't support light and they look the biggest Nazi's in my eyes, but this whole thing forces the player into a path that doesn't necessarily wants to. My freakin SHADOWPRIEST, prefers to join the Void, thank you. I don't know where they headed with that, but its just frustrating to me that I am forced to play in such a very ''alliance-centric'' expansion as a storyline. Cinematic? excellent. I cant deny that, looks cool. Everything they done in this expansion so far looks amazing and differs the War Within from any other previous expansion. Story? meh. I mean COME ON BLIZZ.
Not recovering the artifact and her going bye bye is a very bad thing. She definitely just used the power to just go back in time to…re….c. Vanilla wow that’s why she is back there so often messing around we sent her there.
They should of gave turalyon a arc here and anduin something bigger snd more impactful story on him and the lights relationship. Anduin and khadgar really don't have a relationship like alleria, turaylon and khadgar have
So now I wonder what was those "countless empires" Xal talk about. Black Empire obviously, possibly Empire from that planet Etherals comes from, but what with the others 🤔
Like they upped their ingame prerendered cinematics so much man, this stuff is honestly really great. Still see some people trying to find the plot holes and problems with it but i dont really care because currently I really like where this is going for now. Great stuff.
It's impossible to write this story without plotholes. I think people expect WoW to be a perfect story. They do a great job imo, considering the complexity of this lore.
Had to wait until I played the last bit (an hour ago) before I could watch this lol. I do wish they'd give ALleria's face some personality in the cutscenes. She looks like a creepy doll compared to the 'realism' of Anduin's model and Khadgar. Give her some damn face lines Blizz - something showing she's lived more than 5 minutes.
My issue so far is Alleria seems to he all over the place power lvl wise, also stating your next move before doing it is dumb With Xel they've set her to always be multiple steps ahead of everyone but can't dodge an arrow? If they go with the cop out of "oh she wanted it to get hit." Is stupid, it's just a weird plot point to me.
Really wish they had kept with actually killing Khadgar. Would have solidified Xal'atath as a major threat and get rid of the crutch of Khadgar will fix it/have the answer.

He has Faerin to thank for it. She is definitely one of my favorite characters for a lot of reasons.
Cool cinematic wish it would longer
"cmon anduin do your thing bro *ping* *ping*" was the highlight of the video no doubt
The light coming back to anduin is what we all needed ❤🎉
Skar has another chapter to write on Anduin's theme. ❤
It never left him, he needed only let it in.
@@andrewluster8306 indeed, now he should put the rizz on Faelin.
Nope I hope Thrall reconnects with the elements this expansion too, I was hoping he'd have a bigger role with the storm rooks
@@witnessforchrist7778 so far he bonding with the Storm Rooks, but i doubt it will help his connection to the Elements. the fact is he's getting old, so he may be losing his connection due to age.
Alleria already shot at her twice and she dodged. She didn't have a reason to suspect she was going for the heart that time.
it does not seem that the dark heart is destroyed. Most certainly it was just a crack through which some of the consumed energies slip along with Khadgar
Idk that the dark heart is destroyed vs damaged. We see its cracked open and leaked out a lot of the power she had channeled but it didn't explode or anything.
I knew khadgar was alive! MY MAN!! welcome back :) when I saw he was alive, I literally jumped up and cheered at my screen!!
Did the whole campaign with 4 characters and gathered whole bucket with tears. Why I cry ... ?
My biggest beef with Anduyin is he got his face harmonized and got a nose job in the years he spent in hell/wherever else.
This reminds me of when Genn broke Sylvanas' lantern. Similar story they're rehashing. But hoping that they prove that what she said is true and she still messes us up royally.
at least for Genn it was a sleight of hand trick. but this is pure incompetence on Xal part
It’s giving = Xal is Elune tbh
no.
"You cant kill me" - said Xa`latath. Few moments later trying to dodge arrow :D And yapping too much, she probably didnt learn nothing in ages....:D
That's the thing. Xal'alath probably understood that Alleria is aiming at that stuff in her hand and then tried to shield it from the blow, but Alleria predicted where it would be.
I still wonder what the big stone dragon is going (I forgot his name xD)
DUDE ACCOLONN YOUR SMILE MADE MY DAY! WHEN I SAW THIS EARLIER i THOGUHT FIRST MAN ACC IS GOING TO CREAM HARD OVER THIS ONE....LOL
I know it's not the direction anyone but me would have wanted it to go, but I really would have loved to see Gazlowe there either with or instead of Anduin so he could have saved the day with goblin jumper cables. My brain is just f'ed up that way, and it would be nice to see a profession take the stage for once instead of a class.
I’m loving that Xal’Atath has been whispering to shadow priests this expansion.
Really? Even without weilding the legion dagger?
@@H-D-D If you transmog it, she wsill speak to you and you have a little more of her story.
@@Ellen-qp5yc right, but she did that in all xpacks since legion if you have the weapon xmogged or equipped. I thought he was saying she was talking to spriests even without the dagger, which would be new
@@H-D-D I think so. Not sure if I had transmog on at the time.
Couple instances of shadow priest flavour text. One from Faerin when you are learning that board game with Anduin.
And I’ve noticed one from Xal’Atath at the prior of the sacred flame before the cinematic. About setting her free and she looks forward to you going insane.
@@Ellen-qp5ycis it new whispers or the same ones from Legion??
Ok for the first time since BfA with saurfang, a wow cutscene gave me chills. Well done Team 2, well done Metzen, well done Terran.
I WISH they could keep up with these awesome cinematics weekly, but I understand that after the raid we will have a few weeks to a month without any extra story
Unstoppable Super Villain once again defeated by a trivial action....
She did not get defeated lol
I don't think the heart is destroyed, I think it was just damaged.
Dark Heart isn't destroyed, only cracked.
Has anyone mentioned that the crystal seemed to called out to Anduin as it transitioned from void to light?
Anduins theme music is so god dam beautiful
Acco called it! I thought he was in the realms of void but not in the heart. Glad he's back though
Yes, I loved it so much that he is back, baby
Is it just me or isn't this a repeat of Genn Greymane confronting Sylvanus during Legion? Right down to the destruction of the McGuffin she was using for power?
Finally someone said IT! With how many comments claim WOW is back, I can't believe how blind they are and not see this...
It's a fractal, which is intentional.
I dont know about you, but that does only add to my theory about Xal being corrupted Blue child.
Elaborate.
Bro, that Varian theme song hits right in the feelz
Hey Acco. What do you think Xal'atath's endgame and plan is? Because of what we find out in chapter 5(?) of the campaign I think she's trying to make a host body for herself since she isn't an actual old god. What do you think about that?
Damn ff did gold and purple this summer too
People forget that we are at the beginning of the saga, so we still have the worst before us. Let this be a little victory for now.
That thumbnail was CHERRY Accolon!
That's what, how many true resurrections is that for our boi? Hell at least 2 and an undead
The thumbnail is Accolonn’s “OHHHH!!!” face!!!
Also did Xal get sucked into the dark heart & taken back to the void for now? or did she just teleport out you think?
We need to protect our wise Grandpa at all cost
Anduin's shiny plot moment is WHY Turalyon couldn't go with. ;-p
nah, she just couldnt protect him from her and hope to stop her at the same time. without Turalyon and Arator, she would succumb to the Void.
I dont think the Dark Heart is destroyed just cracked, and could this be the "last arrow finding its mark, the last fetter will fall away"
I haven't played this since the beta for BFA. I just got massively burned out, thought the bfa beta was boring as hell and finally cut ties. I've kinda kept tabs on each xpac moving forward and i've been tempted to jump back in, but don't wanna risk getting "addicted" again.
um she was sucking power out of the BALADAR..will that make it stay light if she took all the void out of it?
What are you saying at 3:38? "Bonsoar al world?" Or what?
4:03 I'm not sure if it is destroyed for good. Yes, Alleria damaged it and allowed power to sip out and Khadgar to free himself, but does that really mean it is destroyed for good or can Xal'atath repair it? Or using the remains for some other nefarious purpose?
I KNEW IT! i've been thinking this WHOLE Time since Dalaran, we need to get the Dark Heart away from Xal, as long as she has it, she is invincible. God damn Alleria finallyi used her head!!!! I can't even right now. i'm so happy fo so many reasons not going to lie i teared up at this!!!
I just kept sitting here going "Anduin, just believe!!!!"
I still think that most of Dalaran is also inside the heart.
The void see all possibilities this possibilitie was inevitable
So is Khadgar the "child" of light and shadow? He was absorbed by the relic of void and shadows, and now resurrected by the Light.
Is Khadgar going to be a unlikely enemy used by Xal'atath?
I dont think my heart could handle having to fight Dad-gar
@@witnessforchrist7778 But... But... What if he is suffering because of Xal'atath? Can you not put him out of his misery? 😭 Why would you let him suffer? Knowing Her direction, she may make him do horrible things to help break him down for her recruitment.
...haven't we seen this before...oh yeah, Sylvanas vs the furry king. Except with Anduin nutting up.
does this make it the second canon ressurection spell? first being anduin bringing Varian back? Both by Anduins hand
@justinb7494 yeah no shit actually, Calia comes to mind too.
he is still alive. they datamined a wheelchair with his name lol
But is it really him or xal
How many have been able to resureccet this far
I don’t think the heart was destroyed. Damaged yes but she will find a way to repair it. This is far from over.
Now all hell will break loose.
What do you mean? The Dark Heart aborbs magic, not arrows and swords.
All of a sudden? He got a newfound connection with the light during the Hallowfall Campaign.
I sure hope this Khadgar isn't Archmage Drenden 2.0...
My king has the light back let go ❤
Im rather disappointed.
I know its hard to ''kill'' someone cause u cant bring them back (even though apparently they all come back somehow)
Xalatath's plans so far:
Brought Nerubians to Dalaran ?
Kadgar is like a father to Aleria
Ok, my eyes swelled...
Why haven't I seen this in game?
Nah, Anduin is about to be broken again. That wasn't Khadgar, and he was holding onto Alleria(Void) while he healed.
Xal'atath defeted countless empires? She only aquired the Dark Heart recently. As such it was just another tool that can be replaced.
They do a great job imo, considering the complexity of this lore.
why tf did I yell MEDIVH I shouldve known it was Khadgar
Had to wait until I played the last bit (an hour ago) before I could watch this lol. I do wish they'd give ALleria's face some personality in the cutscenes. She looks like a creepy doll compared to the 'realism' of Anduin's model and Khadgar. Give her some damn face lines Blizz - something showing she's lived more than 5 minutes.
Why would Xalatath keep they artifact so vulnerable to attacks 🤦♂️
That not him its xal
My issue so far is Alleria seems to he all over the place power lvl wise, also stating your next move before doing it is dumb
With Xel they've set her to always be multiple steps ahead of everyone but can't dodge an arrow? If they go with the cop out of "oh she wanted it to get hit." Is stupid, it's just a weird plot point to me.
The Darkheart look damage not destroyed So i am not sure it out of play yet most likely it lost some of it power or can not hold as much now
i doubt the darkheart is completely destroyed. just seems cracked
Really wish they had kept with actually killing Khadgar. Would have solidified Xal'atath as a major threat and get rid of the crutch of Khadgar will fix it/have the answer.
Yes! SONS OF LOTHAR Assemble!
il'gynoth: the lord of raven will turn the key.
