Fitting since four days later is the obvious Pokémon Day 2024.
I must say, while I do admire some of Ash's character traits I do admire, like his determination to never give up, his supportiveness towards his friends, etc. there are some traits of him that kinda ruin his character for me, like his tendency of rushing into trouble without thinking, his tendency of getting aggressive when somebody critizises him or his absolute cluelessness of everything except Pokemon. That's why I tried to rewrite these traits for myself. I think it's possible for Ash to get rid of these flaws. All he needs is a reason to do so. For example: If one of his rash actions causes one of his friends or a Pokemon to get hurt, it could make him realize that not thinking things trough really does put people into danger and drives him to be more careful in the future. But whenever I think of something like this, I am also worried to destroy his character, that Ash will not be Ash anymore. So I need your advise. Can I rewrite Ash's flaws, his IQ, his rashness, without destroying his character? There are enough traits I leave him, like his bravery, his determination to never give up, his supportiveness towards his friends, his close bond with Pokemon or his eagerness for battle. Please answer my comment, this question is breweling in me so long, I'll go insane if nobody does.
Liko is trash compared to Ash, I have tried to watch Horizons and gave it a real chance. But I find Liko to be too unbearable to watch, I hate her personality, goals and basically everything about her. She will also never be as good as Ash.
Ash needs to return to Pokémon very badly because it's not the same without him anyway so Pokémon Horizons sucks big time. Also Misty will be Ash's girlfriend for the rest of Misty's life and Ash's life so they'll be like Romeo and Juliet and Sonny and Cher. They belong together forever and Ash and Misty will get married to each other in the future to live happily ever after. I like Liko for a number of reasons.
1. I love how different she is from Ash, being shy, introverted and socially awkward.
2. Her reactions and facial expressions are priceless.
3. The story revolving around her and Roy is really engaging me
4: She is not Ash
5. She replaced Ash
6. Eventually she will be turn better than Ash
7. She is not Ash(again)

10: She is one of the supreme pokegirls, and has other lower pokegirls under her foot
11: Her partner Pokémon Sprigatito is awesome, funny and super charming.

I wasn't expecting so many pokemon fans love her as she is different but she deserve some love too.

It's kinda amazing that you guys make costumes for one of my favorite characterz.
I like Liko because she is a fresh face. She loves and cares for Pokémon to the point where she wants to understand Pokémons feelings. She’s also more relatable than Ash. But one thing the anime has to do now, is make her stronger at being a trainer.
If she didn't care for battles I'd understand, this is the first Pokemon anime where I don't really care if the main character even has a full team or not
1. Ash loves and cares for Pokémon to the point where he will stand up to protect any Pokémon that is in danger, even if the Pokémon was constantly mean to ash or he had no intention on catching it he would constantly be there to save a Pokémon in need
2. Just because someone is relatable doesn't always mean they're good, Ash is so great because he represents what so many people feel like inside, many people want to be upbeat, many people want to go on adventures. He represents how we act when playing any Pokémon game, like I have never played a single Pokémon game acting like Liko
@@NathanSchemehorn Yeah, I suppose that's true, but the thing I like about Liko is that, while Ash may be who we want to be inside, Liko represents, at least for me, who I am on the outside. Obsessing over every slight error, finding it difficult to talk to other people, etc. I think this kind of thing is why I also really like Komi Can't Communicate, but that's a tangent.
Liko is just relatable and adorable, it’s really nice to see a calm character be the lead. Roy, I really do hope he gets more development, he currently feels like the annoying younger brother lol

Yeah, hopefully Roy gets more moments in the spotlight soon! He and Liko are both in this journey together, so I'd think they ought to have a fairer share of emphasis.
Roy feels like ash, but if you put it on turbocharge
for real she is so relatable for the shy and introverted fans of pokemon and her personality will lead for amazing character development and growth. So excited to see her and her confidence grow throughout this series. Also they seem to be doing better with Roy but i still feel like Liko will still overshadow him as she seems to have the bigger connection to the story then Roy. Than again i hope they still try and find a way to tie Roy more into the story.

Before watching: She's adorable, has very endearing mannerisms, is decently layered and has really good, subtle growth and progression while still having plenty of room for more. She's also Ash's antithesis which makes her extremely fresh as a protagonist.
Liko’s got the cuteness factor and relatability everyone talks about, don’t get me wrong. But if you ask me, her Writing is where she excels. Her goal, personality, and “Kindness is always a plus, but if it makes you too complicit, you’ll only accidentally hurt people More with your pacifism” arc, are Very new for Pokémon, and she executed that concept Very well. I feel my opinion on Horizons as a whole can sum up my thoughts on Liko. It’s the Legends Arceus effect. After decades of a formula that’s very easy to stagnate(especially if we just went with “recycling Ash clones, except they Win”, and making the anime a Direct mirror of the games with nothing like Ash-Greninja or Infernape’s Blaze), The anime is finally doing something new and innovative, and Succeeding because they’re doing Such a good job with so many new ideas meshing together Perfectly

Maybe the reason why the fans love Liko because she's an opposite to Ash as she's always think things throught, stay calm, patient, reasonable, mature and never rush into thing while Ash never think things through as he is always impatient and rush into something more important to him like a Pokemon battle.

Pokemon Horizon to me is like 1 step forward to a new age of writing for the series. So I believe more stories in the future will be fleshed out as they step in new territories
Loki’s motivation and character growth has been really cool. With how she’s a character that struggles with self belief and anxiety. But my only criticism of her is that her character has started to overshadow Roy’s goals and motivation when they’re meant to be dual protagonists?

They refuse to acknowledge the fact that their story is mediocre and the lead ladies are badly written.

The XY seasons are my favorite, i think it would be better if Ash's journey ended there. Also because the more cartoonish and simple art style would be better for a new series with different characters, Horizons is much more visually appealing to me than Sun and Moon or Journeys.

Yes she may have similar personality then Lillie Koharu and Serena, at least she IS THE MC. the others were support groups with Ashy boy still the main character for too long. I honestly just love having a female MC and being a girl myself I picked out real outfits that share the same color scheme as Her. I usually don't do that with any other character ever. 😅 idk I love her as much as Myne(rozemyne) from ascendence of a bookworm I think they can be best friends.

I love her! Her personality is honest and wholesome, at times she struggles with things and acknowledges her faults, but she makes the improvements needed to grow. She's very conscious of others feelings and genuine with her own.
Liko is starting to interest me every bit as much as Ash did, she may seem like an average young girl at first glance but she is certainly nothing less of a character shrouded in mystery, she and her family have an intriguing and mysterious background, and their connection to this enigmatic adventurer known as Lucius. Despite how late we are into the series there's still so much we don't know about where this is all headed. We've gotten to know Liko and her family but we still don't know what the ''Explorers'' want with Terapagos, what their ultimate goal is and what role Terapagos will likely play in achieving it. Guess we'll have to wait and see, and in time, all will be revealed.....
i enjoy Liko is becuase she a blank slate, not she boring but she feel like its not just the boring "get badges go the league" over and over she goes on adventures flesh out the world and it great to watch and the story and mystery keep the story going very VERY well
I love her personality a lot and she is extremely different from Ash.. In the first few episodes I loved how she reacted to certain situations and it was just kinda funny to see.
During the Galarian moltres episode I was hoping Roy would catch it instead, but Liko did

I like her better then Ash, and my reason are simple.
1. She is adorable.
2. She has her funny moments.
3. She is relatable, her shyness is literally how I was at that age.
4. She's not Ash, which is 100.000 points to her character.
5. My favorite color is blue, so her outfit being blue is a bonus.
6. And this is gonna sound wierd, but I'm actually happy to see more female leads.

@@aoto8897 someone didn’t watch Horizons. One of Liko’s biggest flaws is the fact that she’s a people pleaser in some way. She’d loose a battle on purpose to please other people like she did with Wakaba (?) but she even ignores the fact that most people don’t want to win that way. There was a whole episode about it where Liko purposely lost that training battle with Roy where they were supposed to train their pokemons attacks. And her doing aomething like that keeps reappearing several times throughout the show.
Nor did you watch the video you commented on. The guy literally mentions that one of Liko’s flaws is her priority over compassion in situations where that’s bad.

Probably not the best comparison, and I won’t get too in depth, but for a while, I felt that the people who hate Liko just because she’s not Ash gave me flashbacks to people immediately hating Korra because she’s not Aang (and, for the most part, those people still do - I personally love Korra, but won’t deny some of her faults).
I haven’t watched Korra’s segment of the show yet so I’ll have to get back to you on that. :D
I feel the same way, as I have always thought that people were being a bit too overly attached to Ash. Because of this, there are still plenty of people out there who just won't let Ash go and are holding out hope that he will eventually return one day, and while I get that they want this because we all got so used to having Ash as the main character, I have always said that it's too soon for him to come back and that people need to be more willing to give Horizons, and by extension Liko a chance. The fact that she's getting some hate because she's not Ash shows me that the ones who believe this are being too closed-minded
The differents is that Korra is not a well written character whille Liko is, no one said that Korra was hated because she is not Aang, they hate korra and the show she is in because the show is badly written

You know, the reason why I like Liko is that we are pretty similar. You maybe don't know it, but I have Asperger Syndrome and also avoid standing in the spotlight. So I feel like Liko and I are soulmates. And actually, that's why I can identify myself better with her than I can with Ash.

I think it’s good to keep these names alive!
It’s pretty clear why everyone likes her so much. She’s a really funny and relatable character. She wants to understand Pokémon and she is very socially awkward, which she has to overcome, and it’s Sprigatito who helps her through it.
Also, can we all admit that Liko’s partner Pokémon Sprigatito is just a lovely little Gato? She can be fickle at times (though she is a cat), but she’s also super charming and sociable, and she can be really funny at times as well. She’s also pretty badass as well. I’m glad I picked the Grass Cat as my starter Pokémon in “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet”.
These two are just ace together.
Also, Roy and Fuecoco are also really good. Fuecoco is such a funny little spud, and Roy reminds me a Lot of Ash.

I really like that she so much different thet Ash, and her haristyle is very similar to Selene from Pokemon Sun/Moon games.
She needed to learn to FIGHT people get hurt specially when an evil organisation is OUT TO ROB YOU and they dont care who gets hurt
I really like her. What I liked about early seasons Ash was that besides his cockyness and brashness, when it mattered, he was able to show his true strength and do the right thing. So basically besides being an idiot, he had a good heart, and was able to show it when it was needed.
But as the seasons with Ash became worse (like in Journeys), I would turn more towards characters like Chloe. Chloe is an introvert, so relatable for me. But also she called out Ash and Goh on their bullcrap, because just like me, she can't stand stupid and annoying extroverts like them (I'm not saying that all extroverts are annoying and/or stupid, but Ash and Goh kinda are).
And Riko is kinda like that too. She's a relatable introvert who needs time to open herself to people, but she cares, maybe even too much, but doesn't know how to express it properly yet and do the right thing.

My only complaints are that
1. She should have a third party member! This new series seems tp be going through the story awfully fast but i want either a new team member or an evolution
2. More battles, or maybe just more exciting battles. Let her use hatenna in battle, so far its just leafage quick attack scratch. She seems like a good strategist, so let her strategise.
Yeah I agree, Hattena just seems to be a hood accessory or a radar for Terapagos. She hasn't had a battle at all, also yeah I agree with the evolution thing, but I don't think they'll evolve Sprigatito, maybe Hattena?

I honestly don't really hate her I actually there's zero reason for me to hate her, I'm just indifferent to her is all.
I mean yes I still miss Ash and he was pretty much the only reason I stuck with the show for all these years, but now I decided to take a break from the anime for the time being instead of just going on videos and forums about the new series and bashing it and saying hateful stuff.

I love Liko as the new protagonist in the new Pokémon Horizons series she is cool, has a kind caring nature and fun personality and I love her relationship with her partner Sprigtito but I still love Ash Ketchum and Pikachu just as much 👍❤️
The main reasons:
1) Although I don't relate to her, many people will find her relatable because many people are just as shy as Liko at her age.
2) Her design is cute :3 (NO I’M NOT SIMPING GET OUT OF MY CHAT)
3) Her introspective nature is a real breath of fresh air in the anime.
4) She's more flawed than Ash, making Liko a deeper character than him.
5) Her overreactions are funny :)
But you wanna hear the reason Pokemon Horizons will never be better than the anime with Ash?

I wonder if Liko and Roy and the rising volt tacklers will be able to fight some villan teams when they defeat the explorers I don`t know make travel to sinnoh make cyrus summon dialga and palkia then like instead of the lake trio coming in giratina just banishes everyone to the distortion world then cyrus corrupts giratina then they battle cyurs with giratina then he gets defeated and then dialga and palkia stop a ramapaging giratina and saves liko roy and the rising volt tacklers. When they go to Unova we have the same plot about pokemon liberation and N and all that stuff but team plasma captures kyurem we have the final climax where N and Zekrom battle kyurem they fuse and The rising volt tacklers fight kyurem but fail then Liko or Roy or the professor become the hero of truth and save kyurem and reshiram. As for kalos I don`t have any ideas
While flawed at times, I am loving of how different, diverse and creative Liko is from Ash.
Its so refreshing, soothing and calming to the point where she’s more than just a lovable character but one that gives a lot of comfort and helping me get to sleep with ease, its such an calming change and I love it so much!!! 😌✨

Although it was nice having a familiar face for each generation, what kept the anime fresh at the time was how Ash would, more or less, start fresh with a new team of Pokémon. Even when there seemed to be a pattern forming for the type of Pokémon Ash would catch and add to his team, it was still exciting wondering just which Pokémon we’d get, what their personalities were, and what they brought to that specific team. Now, we get that and so much more because we’re still too early on in the adventure to really know enough about Liko, especially as she grows and changes over time.
Link is my number 1 favorite Pokemon chaarecter a lot because I connected with her, Look didn't know what Pokemon trainer she wanted to be and I didn't know what job will I have when I grow up, so that's why Link changed my life forever!

Her design's fire, she's so funny and expressional,she has depth,good storyline,she literally has a destiny! ,like everyone else, I love her because she's very different from ash. The thing I want to know is how old Liko and Roy meant to be in the Pokémon horizons anime? They look roughly between 10-12 but it’s hasn’t been confirmed interestingly enough. I do think Liko is definitely older than Roy however.
Hard to say since age is more of a relative thing in Pokémon, but the style and fit of the school uniforms at her academy most closely resemble those of a Japanese junior high school, so that’s likely the rough age group they are trying to portray (i.e around 12-13 years old if she’s a first-year).
In my opinion, her personality has the feel of a young, confused teenager to it as well.

I know it's hard to see Ash get replaced as the main protagonist after all these years, but I really am impressed with the amazing character of Liko and even though she may never measure up to Ash Ketchum I plan on watching her journey all the way to the end of Horizons.

Honestly I liked a alot of "new protags of an continuation of a show" with two being Korra from Avatar (she's good and so is the show fight me) and Jaden Yuki from Yugioh GX
Both give a refreshing feel on the main character while still having that bit of charm to old protag had and it just feels nice

They really do? I think she's ok and different from Ash, but not necessarily a breath of fresh air. I don't like that she and Roy (especially him) have been neglected from becoming stronger when facing the antagonists. It's really Fiedre of captain Pikachu the ones who comes in and save them. Then in the next episode Liko is the one who conveniently has sharpen her battle skills without really having proven herself.
I like the new series, but I still reserve my judgement until I really witness a moment of true character's development.
I mean, Ash had been stale until SM, and was let go when he was at a high note.

Me: YAH. Liko's the best mostly the best character in this show anyway. Though with the fact that she's obviously be in the same family tree as Ash & Dawn who are definitely the official endgame marriage couple at the end of his & Dawn's adventures too at that in this case as well. Classic animes like Pokemon, Beyblade, Yu gi oh, Bakugan always had male protagonists since the beginning even though these were popular among both boys and girls. By choosing Liko as the new protagonist the writers proved that girls are not just meant to the protagonist sidekick they can also take the main lead.
Also even when the earlier protagonists were male the female viewers had no problem with them so we shouldn't have any problem accepting a female protagonist either.

When we started with Ash, we were going in blind with him for so.. so many generations. Now we get a newcomer who has... all those regions to consider... I be frazzled and stressed too.
I feel like pokemon couldve done much more with Ash. I don't mind Liko, but it really sucked to see that Ash was finally leaving Pokemon
YA same here i did not mind ash leaving but they gave him an ending even tho there was like alot of thing unsolved like about ashs dad or that relation of ash and serena and if they will have a future or sum etc etc.
They have said pretty much from the beginning that ash will always be 10 years old and they won’t answer questions that we want answers to or let any of the main cast complete their goals it’s so dumb that could have awesome conclusions to ash and his friends and were like no we are not

Red, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Brendan, Lucas, Hilbert, Hilda, Nate, Rosa, Calem, Victor, and Gloria were all neglected by the anime for Ash. Ash taking their place never stood well with me and tbh, Pokémon I Choose You was a good movie cause Ash was involved with characters that are original to the anime instead of game characters and i kind of found it annoying that Ash needed to travel with people instead of taking his journey alone like the games
