Clown burst! 😅I love it! I have a c1934 16” L-7 which someone in the bad decision making process refinished in a clown burst. In the shop now for a refinish. It’ll be worth it, as it sounds as nice or nicer than some of the 16” L-5’s I’ve played.

I am considering using Gibson to refinish a mid fifties 175. We're you pleased with the work done on your guitar? Appreciate any insights.

Did Gibson not paint the inner edge of the f-holes?

Not in 1940 and not in the ES-250.

@@Mikesarchangels all ES model f-hole edges were usually stained whatever the body tint was. However they weren't, and still aren't, finished in lacquer or binding. The only ES models without any visible color on the inner f-hole edges would be those with a natural finish

    Way to F-up an original.

Perhaps you missed the point. Someone refinished the original in the 60s. Gibson refinished it for me in black because the first refin in the 60s created a mess that only black would cover.
