Congratulations on your new Nicks! You will love them, and I speak from experience. I’ve been wearing my Nicks for around three months now and they are absolutely the most comfortable boots (make that footwear!) I have ever worn. The leather has molded to my feet and now feel as if they are a part of me. Nicks are awesome!👍
Thank you! They really are impressive, a big step up from Red Wings. Now for the break in - there's no substitute for wearing them as much as possible every day.
those look great! The order was much quicker than I expected. Only downside was the USPS delivery charge of over £100. Did you go for a stock size? I'm usually 9 in the UK (so 10 US) but took their advice to go down to a 9.5 and with a standard D. Thankfully, all worked out fine and they are a perfect fit.
@@oirishmountain7481 I’m usually a UK 10 standard width in a running shoe so I went for a 10.5D in US sizing but I’m a little worried I should have gone down a whole size to allow for how the boot shapes to your foot - would be interested to hear how the break in goes!
How are you getting on with the boots - mine are finally sat in UK customs - not sure what to expect from customs - I have budgeted to allow for the worst from them so if anything less happens its all upside! As you said previously the shipping to the UK is enough of an expense!
I'm fortunate to live near Nicks, Whites, and Franks boots in Spokane, WA USA. I have a pair from each maker. All fine boots and those Nick's look great.
Thanks Gerry. You are fortunate to live near to so many great bookmakers. We have a great tradition of bookmaking here in the UK (in Northampton, with Trickers, Jones, Churches, Crockett & Jones, Lobbs etc) and, although they are very fine boots, they are not built to last, and they are mostly very expensive. We also have some workbook oriented makers, but for real quality, hand-made workmanship, it seems to me that Spokane is the place to go to. One day, I hope to get to visit, when all this madness ends! Best of luck and have a good week.
Those boots are sharp, if they’re half as bad to break in as their work boots I would plan on more than the 80 - 100 hours, I’m 3 months into everyday wear of a new pair so probably a little over 480 hours, and I just got done with the break in but now they are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn
Thanks Kevin. I think you are right. As others have mentioned, it also depends on what your job is. Unfortunately I'm a desk-bound pen-pusher so at best I might get to wear them for a couple of hours a day out for a walk or doing a bit of light work around the yard. So it could easily take me a year to break them in. Still...cheaper than a gym membership in the long term.
@@oirishmountain7481 you have good taste in boots and they should last you the rest of your life at that rate lol, also try conditioning them, that will soften them up a little, I use mink oil but that darkens the leather if you’re worried about that
I’m having some Falcons made and I can’t wait to get them. I drove in there to have a fitting done because I live really close to Nicksboots it’s only a couple hours away. It’s a 20 week wait for Boots right now. I have a feeling it’s going to drop way off though because Biden has just killed our economy. I wanted to get the Robert as well but my foot would not tolerate the arch so I got the falcon in British tan chrome excel. Your boots look amazing!
Nice boots hopefully they are breaking in ok the 80 to 100 break in is questionable these take months to break in my rangers have been taking awhile but getting better
Did you get the celastic toe by chance? I just ordered a pair of Roberts, and got it with a Celastic toe. I'm wondering if I should keep the celastic toe, or tell them not to install one.
Hi. In Red Wings I wear US10 and in Nicks I ordered US 9.5. There is plenty of room in the 9.5, more in fact than in the RW 10s, but I think 9 may have been too small.
I’m not sure I can get anything of this quality in the U.K. That’s why I’ve decided to go with these hand made in the U.S. heritage 🤣🤣🤣😉😂 right on! My wife is from London
Kick the shit out of em’ you’ll love em. USA boots are going to be the premium boots worldwide. Side note: Jim Greens from SA are freeeekin sweet knock around boots. $140 bucks.
Nice, boots, they are just to pricey for me, Thats is why they aren't for everyone. Ill get tired of boots after 2 years, so buying boots that will last me 10+ Years won't make sense.

@Blue The laces are great! Even after all this time they still haven’t broken.
I can’t wait for mine! It will be my second pair. First pair were the hotshot boots for work. Now I will have a nice pair of daily casual boots.
I’m also in the UK - just ordered a paid of black Officer Boots from Nicks - can’t wait for them to arrive….

thanks for your comments and I hope you are getting closer to taking delivery, notwithstanding Biden!
Those are beautiful.
Congratulations my friend. I hope to order a pair of ones just like those before too long.
peace
Much appreciated. I really do love the colour of these and the kilties have grown on me!

Thank you. I've heard that too, but will be worth it.
I agree with you, unless you're a "real work'n man, or woman" I feel it takes longer than that to break in any quality boot.
Nice review, beautiful boots !!
thanks for watching!
Beautiful! Standard height or moderate heel height?
Looks beautiful mate.

Great boots that will last for a life time. What US size do wear in Red Wing IR vs Nick's?How much did you have to pay for import duties and shipping?

@@oirishmountain7481 what's ur sneaker size?
Do they run big or small. Nice boots.
Where in the UK? In England they have some of the best shoemakers in the world. Much better than in the US
Nicks in the UK?? Damn, that's dedication. I've written them off due to being in Canada
Are you into any Canadian or American brands?
I’m considering buying a pair of nicks also. But I black cxl. You still have them?
Did they fit?
Awesome boots
I’m wanting a pair for work how does it work and how much does it cost to get them over?
Love how they send you a hat covered in lint right off the bat😂
ha, funny it has actually become my daily hat. I like the colour and simple leather patch.
Best boot love it..😍
thank you.

American Beauty!
nothing to beat American workwear. I have one Pendleton board shirt and it is also the best I have.
Is that the structured toe?
no, it is the standard one, but nonetheless very strong.
