I was thinking that. He has put on a lot of weight in a short period of time. Must have been a mad few months since winning the worlds.
Clueless neuro-typical speculation.. He had to change the meds he takes to help him cope with his autism and it's those meds that are provoking his weight gain.

Not a problem of lack of determination: his autism was undiagnosed for years. Having been in the same situation I know how hard that is - in itself and dealing with clueless neuro-typical speculation. He now gets proper support and should be able to duly focus on honing his talent.
EDIT: to respond to the crucial weight issue, it's probably meds that are making him gain weight.
@@AB-vi8zlwell he has been spending that WC money. So he might want to stick around to get another bag. Plus I do think he does enjoy playing the game against other quality players
