I think Vanjie might have used her common sense and realised she was getting $50k for appearing and $25k for outfits, regardless of how she did on the show, and decided to spend as little as possible on the looks. Why blow the $25k costume budget when you can spend $5k and pocket $20k? Just get people to stick a sequin on an existing outfit and bill World of Wonder. Genius. 🖤

I really was hoping that Nina's reveals would become harder and harder to remove. Like, first a knot, then a series of buttons, then too-strong Velcro, then she needs a seam ripper, and then finally she has to dig out a crowbar and remove rivets or something. But that would probably require a concept or something.
IMHO being the most interesting thing about this season of all stars is iconic

Before I watched the show I always read it as "I'M HOT, THE SHOW" because of their insta username. When I finally tuned in to an episode I was shook.
The timing of “do you want me to tell you that you have a booger?” was incredible. 10/10 as usual
I agree about Angeria. She definitely should have won. The cast this season is better than the last one, in my opinion. I will say, as much as I love Vanjie, I agree about being very pedestrian with her runways. She still looks beautiful. I see Gottmik and Angeria in the top 2 and Jorgeous or Plastique as 3rd.

You aren't being harsh.This season is BAD bad. This format and judging only worked for all winners and even they had more stakes than this season. The last straw for me was Nina's lipsync reveals. Poor Trevor Project...

Gottmik once again slaying the snatch game winning the same 2 challenges that she won on her og season is impressive. She was my favorite cause I didn’t know how she would make a dog a great snatch game. Vanjie and plastique are very lucky that there are no eliminations. No one moved an inch ever since we saw what was under Nina’s reveal.

I looooooove the discussion of camp!! Camp is one of my favorite things to talk about when it comes to queer culture. My go-to reference for anything camp is Susan Sontag's "Notes on Camp", which is such a wonderful (albeit dense) read. I think what a lot of drag race queens miss when it comes to campy looks is the level of polish that camp requires. To quote Sontag, "The hallmark of Camp is the spirit of extravagance. Camp is a woman walking around in a dress made of 3 million feathers." Alexis really hit the nail on the head. This Nina look, and a lot of other looks from other queens, just come across as crafty rather than campy
Jorgeous said that she was gonna do ChiChi but she actually did another J.Leguizamo character named Manny the Fanny and she was spot on.
The timing of “Nina’s hole” is up there with Bob & Peppermint’s “You said a cute little black person?!… RACE?!…” 🤣🤣🤣

I would like some kind of happy medium format where all queens stay for the first 5 or so episodes, and in each episode, the top queens gain badges, and by the 6th episode, the 4-5 queens with the least number of badges get eliminated. That way everyone gets a decent amount of time on the show, but the stakes are still high. ✨

I agree that it gets kinda boring when they’re editing around mistakes and the judges aren’t really critiquing them but that’s unfortunately the only way they can get some of these queens to come back

Ok.... I'm going to be brave AND vulnerable... when I first discovered these two, I just was not a super huge fan. I just couldn't get into the content and although I wished them well (subscribed but hardly watched lol) it wasn't until recently that I fell head over heels with y'all. I'm so glad the scales have fallen from my eyes and I can now see the light. You two are freaking delightful and weird as Frick hahaha. Love y'all!
A fox is a dog, but the vibe is super catty. I`ve heard it said that foxes are dog hardware but running cat software. It sounds made up, but most carnivores are either on team cat or team dog (caniformes and feliformes.) Foxes seem kinda catty but are dogs, while hyenas seem pretty doggy, but are cats. Seals are dogs too, but dolphins are actually more like deer or antelopes. I`m not a mammal scientist whatsoever. Love you guys!

My thoughts on all stars is that they need to not be EVERY year. All Stars used to seem like we've seen what the queens have done AFTER drag race and that made them more of a Star or that they really understood how to use their platform. Now, we have just anyone who says yes? I dunno. I think if they are gonna keep everyone or play All Stars like they have, they need to make it an EVENT! Like survivor or big brother only having an All Stars every couple of years works cause it makes it seem special.

To answer Alexis’ question about how to define “camp”- I’d define it as “when a person performing an absurd/highly exaggerated act isn’t aware of the absurdity/exaggeratedness”.
Take for example Hyacinth Bucket in Keeping Up Appearances. Her character is camp because she isn’t in on the joke about herself. A character like Nina West isn’t camp because she’s “in” on the joke about her overly exaggerated looks. But a character like Ben DeLa Creme is camp because the character is overly kind to a fault, but isn’t aware of the irony in her own persona (even if the person behind the character is aware)

This is a season made up of fan favs that are almost across the board not my personal fan faves. I know that many of them are super popular, but except for like Angeria, Shannel, and Roxxxy, I just didn't care to see these queens compete again, and to have so many of them all in the same season is a huge bummer. It's made even worse by the lack of stakes! I will say that Gottmik is actually putting in the effort, and her runway for this episode was genuinely incredible.

Im fairly convinced Angeria wasn't considered in the top because she was snipped and because it was a 2 star week it would've required some kind of special ruling and they just decided they'd rather avoid it altogether. I wish they at least gave her credit for her good performance though.
and for the judging in general- we heard from Yvie, Trinity, and Raja that they were actually being given fairly harsh criticism throughout, the edit only showed the positive stuff- i wonder if that's the case again.

Why does everyone hate Nina- except for her runways? So many of these recap shows from drag queens- really go in hard on her. Her runways are horrible- agreed. But she’s funny in Snatch Game and in acting challenges. Did she do something? She even says her fashion stinks.
