That's a great idea John!!! We stayed in a hotel that we had points for, and used airline points for our flight too. So our costs would be different than others. We also don't know what the price of gas coming up would be since we haven't driven it ourselves, we've heard between $1,000 and $1,500. TOTE is a few thousand dollars depending on the size of your rig, but not having to put the gas, miles, and wear and tear on your rig might be worth it. The ferry was about $8,000 when we checked it before it sold out. Hope that helps!

@@FnAVanLife a brief new update on my dad, he'll be in the VA retirement nursing home sometime within 2-4 weeks so he will have better nursing care that I can't do and he'll be safer there too instead of being in this old condemnable house of his for much longer, at least until whenever the demolition and new house build for him is done, it'll be a bit while, no set date at all for that to be done yet. And, my van conversion build update, been on temporary delay here and there more so because of the weather here has been more wet than dry to do much, we're supposed to get more thunderstorms and more possible flash floods in the area again, since I've been here in Odessa TX (2007 to today) I've have seen more rain than we ever normally for a high desert area get. It sucks I don't have a functional garage nor workshed at least I could work in as I work on my van build. Whenever it rains here like it's been I don't dare to use any of my power tools outside in my dad's driveway 😜💦🤯 don't want to look like electro woman 🤯😁 well, I'll be just doing tid bits here and there when dry enough to use these power tools.
